Hello Lucy!! I have been a teacher of English for 21 years. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Spanish is my first language. However, after years of working on it and teaching myself, I got where I wanted. I speak English with a beautiful, authentic, and natural English accent, a London accent, to be more precise... You should see how Brits react here when they first meet me, before I tell them that not only am I Argentine, but also, I have never been to England in my life, hahaha. Without you knowing about it, I recommend your videos to my students. I think you would find me to be a very interesting case indeed and would enjoy having a little chat with me and hearing my accent yourself. I absorbed this accent and made it mine long ago. YES... I love your country Lucy.... I'm the biggest "Brit at heart" you could ever meet, hahaha. I would be honoured if you wanted to hear my accent one day. I loved this video by the way... Have a lovely day, Lucy!! Cheers!!

The fact that I've been learning English for more than 10 years now and didn't even notice this and realized how this really was so true and made good sense when lucy pronounced them the way they should be pronounced ! Truly very happy to have learnt something new again. It was such a great experience, thank you so much, Lucy !

Thank a trillion dollar. Love from 🇮🇳
Oh wow😊
That was stress-ful?! 🤣 I totally agree... I've loved this one. Well, I love nearly all of your lessons, but this one was one of this game changers - you know?! Wish you a beautiful weekend! 🤗
Thank you for this lesson! I'm fascinated with British pronunciation and I love trying to make myself sound as close to the native level as possible. It doesn't matter as much whether I will achieve it or not, I just love the mechanics of it.
Every time I get something perfectly I feel really proud of myself. It's a nice feeling.
Hey Ellie! I have also recently started teaching English on UA-cam. Can you please watch my videos and let me know what you think? I would love to hear your opinion!

There's no British pronunciation, there's no British accent 🤦🏻♀️ Each country not only has its own language, but also its own accents when speaking English
I'm quite proficient in English language, however, I subscribed to your channel so I can learn to speak like a British native. Thank you so much Lucy!
I'm proud of myself, I did them all accurately and fluently. Thanks Lucy😍
I've been studying English for 5 years and I still found that very helpful , so thank you so much for the video , I understood some of my flaws in pronunciation and speaking ❤️
Thank you Lucy, your accent is marvelous.I love your videos for not only developing our English skills but for also the topics you choose. You emphasize the very human qualities as well.
Hi, dear teacher, I've learned English In 2006 with 11 years of age, I disapointed myself with the English schools of Brazil and I started to lernen here with you and from you :)
Now in 2016 I learned truthfully.
Thanks
Lucas Luciano, bye
Thank you for giving a clear summary of words whose pronunciation changes when used in different forms with different meanings! I was especially surprised to realise I never connected "entrance" in its noun form with its verb form. The only example I have a problem with is the word "default". It seems where you place the stress doesn't affect the meaning.
Thank you Lucy, this video is interesting and helpful. Anyway, I listen to English podcasts almost every day, since I love this language. I must admit it was not difficult to me. Apart, maybe the first part, for that I need some pratice. Thank you again!
I am Italian, and English is to me a BEAUTIFUL language, elegant, expessive and, thanks to its many accents, truly multifaceted, BUT, Oxfbridge English is most certainly the most attractive, No need to exaggerate, overaccentuate or parodise the Queen's ENglish, This video teaches the loveliest English: middle of the road Middle-class English! Simple, clean and without frills, easy to understand, if not exactly as easy to reproduce.
Brilliant videos, hope to use them, teachong my friend!

I love watching your lesson video
I have realized that the more I watch your lesson the more I perform well in English.
I always knew there's difference in pronunciation of nouns and adjs that has same spelling, but I never figure out the rule that I could follow to pronouns it right. My english teacher at school never told me about it and I'm glad that I found your lesson!! Thank you so much for this video, it was very very helpful! I'll pay more attention to how people talk to notice new interesting things I can learn about haha
I love this lesson. I really enjoy when you plan for a pronunciation lesson ❤️
Another extremely useful lesson. A pleasure to have such a good English teacher.
wow, we do that unconsciously on a daily basis, only now I learned why is it like that, very educational and it really helps me improve my pronunciation to convey the message without confusion to the receiver.

Address is pronounced the same both as a verb and a noun in British English. ADDress is another way to say the noun in America.
Exactly, well spotted! 👏

You've been such a blessing in my life done your videos for 3 months and my accent is noticeable ❤️❤️😭really appreciate
Thanks, lovely Lucy😃
I have learnt not something, but so many things from your videos
Talking about syllable stress, the same happens with the word "resume". It has a different meaning depending on the pronunciation. The spelling is almost the same but the stressed syllable changes. I realized it when I was making a video and researching the correct pronunciation. This is a key for us who have learned English as a second language.
to reSUme or resuME, yasss defintely makes a HUGE difference
English is not a tonal language
But english is a stressal language
Ur a great teacher
Thank you Lucy for your amazing service!

Hello,
It’s very important pronuncation lesson, I think.
I just learned something primordial for oral comprehension and expression.
Thank you for these explanations!
Hi, Lucy! I had to look up the word address because I heard something strange as you were talking about it. According to the dictionary, the noun has two different pronunciations: the stress can be either on the first or the second syllable. Actually, when you say the word on its own in this video, you put the stress on the first syllable but when you use it in a sentence, even though you use it as a noun, you accidentally put the stress on the second syllable. :))
