Great video, Oliver. It has been far too long since I have visited. I don't get back there often enough. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been back since graduating in 1996.
Great video and with good music! I reside in San Marino, CA and want to visit Athens when I travel to the south. The people of Athens seem like really down to earth people who are enjoying life. :)
al h - I'm not sure what you're referring to. The only chains I even noticed were Fuzzys in the background of the Twilight Criterium shot, Hotel Indigo, and Starbucks. None of them seemed overly featured to me. The inclusion of Starbucks more than once is unfortunately inevitable with its prominent placement across from The Arch. Unless there are more stores/restaurants that I just don't realize are chains? In any case, we don't have a chain-free downtown, so their minimal inclusion to represent our city seems accurate to me.
Hey man! Awesome video and incredible footage! Any chance you would be willing to share some stock footage of the Athens' skyline? I'm working to create a video for a non-profit based out of Dayton, Ohio called Declare Worship Community who is hosting an event at the Classic Center. If you had anything you would be willing to share, it would really help us out!
thanks! The camera moves along a motorized slider and takes a picture every 5-15 seconds. If you're looking for a rig to do this, you can visit www.dynamicperception.com If you have any other questions about film, feel free to message me at russell@pioneerform.com
It’s like a very mini nyc but in the south 😉 This video makes this small city feel so big. That’s why I like it here. There’s a lot around but it isn’t the biggest city.
great little video shows athens what people think it is, a classic town. athens is not classic, as here we have over 75 bars including the ones in restaurants. other than that it's a great place minus all the underage drinkers.
Super representation of the town we love, and are happy to share with others. Athens is growing because it is a great, wonderful, lovable city.
This is beautiful. The town truly gets in your blood and stays forever.
Wow man. Excellent job. I know how much work goes into those time lapse shots with camera movement. Turned out really well.
LOVE!!!!! my hometown...
This is awesome! I'll share all over.
This is a beautiful video!
I was looking for an Athens (Greece) time lapse video, when I bumped into this. Very good!!

You have captured in five minutes what has so far eluded the Chamber of Commerce
dont like how they gave so much focus to chain stores not from athens

Sure thing. Send me an email me at russell@pioneerform.com
Nuthin’ like the old ATH, had more wooded areas where you could ‘light up’ some Joints and be completely hid from anybody.(True 💡)
I really like the panning effect! I wonder how often do you have to move/turn your camera in real time to have this cool effect. Thanks.

It gets TURNT UP out there.
Be careful though, they do NOT know how to drive out there, friend got hit last summer near Campus.
This video makes Athens, Ga seems like New York City…
It's way better than the Rotten Apple!
REMChicagoBoy Athenians think Athens is NYC.
Athens is lame
I wish I lived in Seattle

Rumors claiming that the Confederate memorial is next to be moved on Broad Street in Athens GA .
I don't get it
More like montage with some timelapse sprinkled in.
