Rory Dies (specify which particular time he died)

@@anukulmallik637 You missed the joke.
@@anukulmallik637 woooooosh
This is the third time. The first two times were both in _Amy's Choice._
Modern day, (2020)
What doesn't kill Rory Williams only makes him stronger. What does kill him also makes him stronger.
The universe once tried to erase Rory Williams. It exploded.
Honestly that is not inaccurate.
Time itself forcefully gave him and amy a long life; albielt not the one it wanted. But when it killed him alone, time and th universe itself shuttered and forced the doctor to correct it
then forced the doctor to never interact because the universe couldn't take another Rory event.
@@zwordsman Rory the man who beat time...
@@aoisora1445 Rory the one who loved so strong, the universe couldn't comprehend it

Supercom6000 second time.
Yea, which death did this happen
@Stevean2 They changed the title
The first time Rory dies, Amy's the only one that doesn't remember losing him. The last time Rory dies, Amy's the only one that doesn't lose him at all.
The Doctor forgets as well.
the guy with something no he doesn’t
@@theguywithsomething8634 the doctor doesn't forget about Rory!

@@BrusierWeight Nah, that would be Clara's. Literally.
@@prof.evilpictures8696 I think there is a video with all his deaths and its like 10 minutes long lol
Doctor and Rory have a very unsettling relationship. Rory straight up saved him, especially at a time when the Doctor thought he was on his last regeneration, yet his attachment to Amy always overshadowed any kind of connection he could make to Rory. In Angels Take Manhattan, the Doctor isn't broken up until *Amy* is gone, not Rory. It was always Amy, no matter what. I think the only reason he was able to form a relationship with River was because she was in his subconscious before this incarnation, but for everyone else, 11 could be surprisingly cold. Cold to the point where losing Amy meant he just sat up in a cloud in his box until Clara pulled him back.
While I do agree, I think the reaction to fully losing Rory hurt less because she still had Pond, losing them both is what really broke him, or at least in my interpretation
The beauty of Amy and Rory is they’re a complete reverse of the standard “doctor makes the companion better”. They show just how toxic the doctor can be, he broke them down just by his very presence.
As for the angels thing, I think it has to do with him being in shock and trying to find a way to “doctor it up” by saving Rory in some convoluted manner. But he wanted to get Amy out of there before they just Willy nilly threw themselves at an angel. Cause he’s right when he said no one knows if an angel will send you back to the same time as someone else, it was entirely possible for that angel to be like “haha, f u, imma send you to Mexico in the 1700’s” or something.
@@erosion271 uh what? if anything, amy was toxic. she constnatly tried to cheat on rory, which she herself instigated, not the doctor, and was generally pretty self-centered all throughout the series. if anything, its weird that the writers forced these characters together for so long, because the doctor normally wouldve dropped someone like amy like a hot potato.
@@jenshep1720 he also ruined their lives completely, left Amy a confused girl who no one ever believed. Nearly destroyed the up and coming marriage to Amy and Rory, lost them their daughter just by being in his presence. A life with the doctor is toxic. It’s full of death betrayal and abandonment. The curse of the time lord
You can see how clinical the Doctor is here, he’s been in so many heartbreaking situations before, he’s become desensitised to it
Or he's used to internalizing the pain.
the fact that i can say "the saddest rory death" and not seem like an idiot is funny to me lol
In the audio adventures the 8th doctor had a companion c'rizz for a fairly sizeable chunk of his early adventures and he's almost nonchalant about his death
"The time energy is engulfing him, get away"
-> meanwhile, the doctor sticks his hand INSIDE it
as a time lord he probably has some resistance to timey wimey stuff
The joy of fiction, anything is possible.
He is a more complicated time event than Rory was, takes longer to corrupt doctors timeline than Rory’s. Plus Rory was dead, hid timeline had ended there. Easy place to unravel from. Active resistance my sort of protect you too. That’s my view on it anyway
Medicus Temporis the time lords exist as pure time energy seen when galifre is trying to return through the crack
@@MatadorMedia so basically it was a loophole
“Rory Dies”. I think this is a forever-running joke even within BBC.
How many times did this character bloody die?
When Clara died I thought “Meh, Moffat’s written this. She’s fine...”
A friend of mine, who continued watching after I gave up, was distraught when Clara got killed for the eighty sixth time, and I said she'd only be dead for a fortnight. I was wrong.
She was only dead for a week.
@@zacmumblethunder7466 since Clara took the long way round getting back to Gallifrey and the Master destroys Gallifrey, there is no way for her to get back to her body in that moment in the alley since the tech/timelords are gone. There's an immortal Clara running around with an immortal Ashilda in a Tardis (not sure what type). I wonder if they ever bump into Captain Jack. (Sounds like a big finish spin off to me)
@@Velldog She is immortal and has a time machine. Unless Gallifrey is destroyed in all of time like it was supposed to have been in the Time War, Clara can easily get back there and make it seem like she was away only for a few minutes. And she could drop off Me at the beginning of the universe if they wanted to.
@@9nikolai Gallafrey is time locked. The amount of time she spends away from Gallafrey is linear to the amount of time that passes when she returns. Time Lord magica.
@@Velldog Right. I forgot.
I find it funny, the more kind and light hearted the Doctor is the more it shows when he does something dark.
I miss Matt Smith as doctor, he was great
He was my favourite doctor with all the awesome hats
He’s a great actor, but a horrible doctor
Sebi The Hunter lies
I know right!
He was definitely a great cast for the role but series 6 and 7 let him down, I don't understand why they changed his outfit and tardis for one series!
Rory didn't die once. Specify which one.
I miss Rory and Amelia. They were fantastic.
Technically, he only dies once. Other instances involve him avoiding death in the end (the Siren), or they never happened (The Silents, this). He only really dies once. Of old age. Oh, and faakeouts like Amy's Choice and the Day of the Moon.
Yes, true👍🏼😉
Paradox: If Rory and Amy were on the hill in 2020, how did they die in “The Angels Take Manhattan”?
Well they didn't die. Their gravestones said that they died at something like 80. So they could still be on that hill.
Three possible explanations:
1) Time was re-written in _The Angels Take Manhattan,_ so they were never on the hill.
2) From the end of series 6 onwards, they spend increasing lengths of time at home on Earth between episodes, which may have lasted until 2020. _The Angels Take Manhattan_ is after that from their perspective.
3) The Doctor took them there.
EDIT: As for what people are saying about them living to 80, we see their gravestone in _The Angels Take Manhattan,_ at a time which is specifically stated to be 2012. That's before 2020.
I think as they lived to be 80, they knew the doctor would be there
(After time was rebooted in Big Bang)
And how did River was born?
@@DaydreamerSoul River was born before the angels

Seriously, look at his expression when he gets hit.
When Amy pushed him you mean? If so, looks like he’s trying to hold back the tears
Rory is to Doctor who as kenny is to South Park.

Fun fact Matt Smith want to return in a few years

Amy: "You can't let that happen."
Doctor: "Well yes, but actually no."
*Pulls lever and leaves*
I really miss 11 :(
I don’t
Sebi The Hunter why he is the best doctor
Dude I love 11
Chloe_221 Yeah, also 10 both bloody great Doctors
Me too
God this was such a cruel way to end the episode. If we live on in memory, then this was complete obliteration for poor Rory.
See ... I still don’t get how the doctor manages to put his whole hand through and yet he isn’t erased, and Rory’s just chilling on the floor outside it and he’s like “swallowed”. And that whole “time energy” erasing light thing doesn’t really show up again. Like when Clara asks the time lords for help, should she be afraid of being erased? confusing.
ObiWan Kenobi is that Moffat or Chibnall? Either way I don’t care too much about plot holes, just was wondering if there were any accepted mechanics for the cracks.
ObiWan Kenobi kablam
The Doctor's a Time Lord. Resilient to not only physical danger, but temporal danger. I think. As for the Crack in Christmas, I think that didn't lead to outside the universe.
@@Silverwind87 Tom Baker's hand went all crispy in Warrior's Gate when he stuck it in a time thing.
That ‘you’re so beautiful’ is so perfect.
I now have a crush on the 11th doctor. The way he tells her to get away from the light sounds so gentle
Anyone else noticed at 1:24 the music is basically the same as from The Haunting of Bly Manor?
The song is 'We are Special' from Bly Manor if u want to compare
@George Worrall oh yh I just realised that
@George Worrall no problem :)
Hmm I like this song, but I don't recognise the haunting of bly manor. Which episode is this?
@George Worrall just googled The Haunting of Bly Manor and realised it was a TV series, not a doctor who episode! Is it a good series?
I cried so much when this first aired. I really thought he was gone for good.

At the end, I was actually waiting for Jodie to pop up for a sec there.
Love how it's clarified how he's died.
I always thought that bit of the sign was a bit of the 10th doctor's TARDIS after Tennant regenerated (crashing in amy's back yard) completing the whole "it's all inside amy's head" thing
Can we just acknowledge that Amy was willing to be erased with and for Rory. That’s pure love right there
ah series 5. best season of doctor who. so ominous, so well written. why can't 7-10 have been like you?
Huh? Everyone can have opinions but i strongly disagree. Series 8, 9 and 10 are great, one of my favorites. While Series 5 is overrated by mile
Wait, so if the light from the crack touches you, you will be erased from history and never have lived at all. Then how did the doctor stick is whole arm in the crack and didnt even get erased from time?
Time lord stuff probably
Luke96w lol
He's a Timelord. He's 900 years old and his trace engulfs all of history. He was there when the universe was created and he watched as Time ran out. Erasing him will take, well, time.
Because he touched the light instead...big ball...timey-whimey...rug...stuff.
He wrapped his hand in a kerchief
Sad life .c I really miss Rory
This reminds me of so many happy memories.
“Rory dies” sounds like a title for Spotify playlist.
Love how the Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver on Rory after he gets shot. Almost like he uses his sonic screwdriver like Star Trek's tricorder.
are they now uploading a rory dies marathon?
that can go on for a while :D
i love it that they have to specify which ep and where :p
At least Rory tried to save The Doctor before he died.
I love how they specify which death it is
Upon seeing this not knowing Rory was coming back, the point where Amy forgets but the dr still mourns was unsettling
I remember watching this scene live, it broke me
First death is always the most painful.
Seriously, look at Rory's face after he gets shot.
Krillin, Rory,Optimus prime, these three die most.
I love the specification on "Rory Dies - Absorbed by the Crack in Time" lmaoo
Am I the only one who wishes they'd shown more of this scene (i.e. the part where the Doctor tries to help Amy remember Rory) in this clip?
I love it, the doctor want to know what it is so he just sticks his hand in it
My heart..Karen Gillens acting here... so brillent =,(
So far, the best bit of Doctor Who that Chibnall’s written. #RIPRoryAgain
It gets me every time!
Yeah another boring count down the clock story. Full of plot holes.
Chbinall's Doctor Who stories have ranged from mediocre to great. His Torchwood episodes however...
Moffat wrote that scene
Marinos No he didn’t
ought to do a compilation. Rory Dies (all times)
I cried when I saw his death when I watched the episode. I still haven’t forgiven my aunt for that!
And I thought 2020 couldn't get any worse...
That's how rory became Rip hunter
Rory: We were on the hill, I can’t die here
Amy: don’t say that... of course you can
it never occurred to me that the dr just tanked the light from the crack
0:24 hearing "the runaway bride" vibes
Leaving is good. Never come back is better!
He got better.
A LOT BETTER!
Rory was the Chuck Norris of Doctor Who.
Remember the time Rory kept dying? Ah the goo' ol' times
I like how this time they specified which death it is😆
Why do I feel that 11 is like connected to the previous doctor (10) but at the same time he’s his own incarnation. Either way if that’s true or not, 11 is one of the best. Miss you Smith.
Definitely. The pattern shows with Doctors 10-12 in their first seasons while also developing their own distinct personalities.

So they cut off the scene right _before_ the moment that gives it it's full emotional impact?! What the Hell?!
1:04 *OH MY GOSH!!!!!!* 😱🙊😖
2:03 The Doctor Don't You Dare
Light radiating from that crack wipes Rory from existence, but the Doctor is able to put his arm into the crack and it is no big deal...
Not just a crack in the universe, a crack in the plot integrity...
The crack is the hole in space time, the doctor noticed it wasn't emanating time energy, that's why he put his arm into it. But then, time energy started to come out wiping Rory out from history
"Rory Dies (for the first time of many)"
This is the only time I got upset about a death in Doctor Who. It was done before ressurection became easy, plus I was young and a big fan of Rory. I remember being very depressed in bed that night.
I was like 7 when this episode came out and i remember having a massive fit bc i thought rory was dead forever
spencer ! same except i was 5
Ah, the first time Rory died. You never forget the first
No Doctor telling me subscribe at the end this is madness
I've got a joke about a crack appearing in the Time Lord but I don't want to sound crude.
With what know about what the cracks actually are now though (The time lords trying to contact the doctor) Would that not mean that Rory didnt actually die, but was sent beyond time into Gallifrey itself? Its possible this version of Rory could still be alive somewhere on Gallifrey.
Big Deano Plays no xd watch the new séries
The Doctor should have used Crack Filler to fix them.
“Again”
Oh not not again Rory.
So are you gonna post all 9 of his deaths?
Poor loyal Rory. So sad.
They took that one guys suggestion and labeled which death this was
