@@yorubalessons you are so welcomed my sister, i listened again and have questions. i know my mother originated from the yoruba, and my father is from the igbo, and we only found this out through dna testing. my question is like this, my mother says orun is like the dream world. and she say in the dream world people don't search for knowledge they already know certain things. my father say if you don't understand your chi or the spirits you wont dream anyway, and keep this in mind, ive been studying, practicing, and teaching the martial arts over 20yrs, but to cut a long story short, the yoruba ori, and the igbo term chi, are very interconnected i dont care what nobody say. my father will quickly explain how most adults dont even dream till they chi come into alignment. your thoughts would be highly appreciated and welcomed.
It's because the people who developed the ideas of hell and heaven are people who are greedy, and sinister themselves. Thier whole belief systems are based upon the fragments of spirituality they could comprehend from Africa. These people believe in a system that places them above the environment instead of functioning within it. It's why we have the problems we have today. The outsiders have no regard for the gifts that the source has given us. I am so thankful that you explain these things so plainly because I've understood these things for a long time but could not actually identify exactly why. Life experiences and witnessing many things with my own eyes has shown me the confirmation that my ancestors were right!!
Eleda is also used for the head in the diaspora. What does that represent? Also. I have to say, i really appreciate and enjoy your videos. So insightful. Thank you.
The vowels that I have mentioned in this - ua-cam.com/video/mbQEaoaQyVI/v-deo.html - video are the only ones that exist. ‘o’ and ‘ó’ are same letter/vowel; the only difference is the tone mark, and I have addressed tone marks here- ua-cam.com/video/iJLHMZkSf74/v-deo.html.
My question is simple, most African relgions have a concept of a after-life, other-world aka a spirit-world (a cosmic kingdom or village), were the supreme god, lessor "gods" & the deceased loved-ones live. Do the Yoruba have such a concept? Many more African communities, believe that when a person reincarnates in their family tree for a variety of reasons, once their work or destiny is done they return home to the afterlife or spirit-world permentatly. While other African relgions believe the human-soul is in multiple places as once simultaneously, when a person passes away. Like the Lion-King film, when a women dies she "reincarantes" through the eyes of her descdants while at the same time she is alive the spirit-world receiving prayers of ancestor-veneration from her family. I know there are different Yoruba sub-groups, but some Yoruba have alluded to thier traditional belief being like that of the later, the omnipresent-human soul or "partial human reincarnation".
Alafia, I am not in opposition to what you saying and like how you explain orirun, but the Yoruba do ceremony to connect and appease their ẹgbẹ in heaven and paint their bodies at this time to mimic the stars. So if at some point if the Yoruba don't envision heaven in the sky please explain this along with chain of being descended down from heaven with chicken to spread earth and the irúnmolè being said to descend to make earth habitable.
Hello brother Malcolm. Thank you for your question! I will respond to it as well as I can, especially since someone else might have a similar inquiry. There is no one heaven according to the original ancestors as I stated in this video. The source of a soul could be anywhere in the universe. If the irúnmọlẹ̀ descended from a place in the galaxy, one of the other planets, or a different, undiscovered place above, which is not necessarily the case, then that is where their own souls came from. Elédùmaré is not confined to one planet or space either; the entity is definitely not a large figure constrained to a chair, as depictions often suggest. Now, in response to your question, let’s examine the Yorùbá creation story itself. As a reincarnated soul who is trying to remember how it felt to be a Yorùbá person ages ago (even before we began to bear the collective name ‘Yorùbá), something about the story seems recent and off to me- way off. You have to realize that man made God according to his own image; I am using 'man' intentionally here. It has never been the other way round. People like me and you came up with the creation story; you will be quite surprised that it is only a few millennia old too- it did not always exist. You will see and feel, on soul level, that there are many faults in the account if you attempt to take it as a fact, not anything more than a fable. For one, where did the sand that the hen spread with her feet come from? Is there another earth-like place above us? If the hen-descension story were half-true, the water would have drowned that hen, the sand, and the five thousand hens that would have come after. What kind of “Christopher-Colombus”-esque account is that? 😂 In one of our original stories, the way that my soul remembers it, the water pulled back to reveal the land (ilè̩) when she was ready to accommodate our kind of beings and our kind of life, leading up to this point. Nobody had to bring a hen or sand from anywhere to do the work. 😊 The negative consequences of creation stories like that are very conspicuous; it’s not surprising at all that people disrespect the water and land that give us life on this space that we now call ‘planet earth.’ We somehow inherently adopt the false belief that our ancestors "conquered" earth. 😅 The “descension chain” is not to be taken literally; it is a metaphor for a kind of cell. I chuckle when people who hold the biblical account to be the ultimate truth refer to “the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil” as an ordinary fruit too. It is an ancient metaphor for intercourse. From a soul to another, my advice is that you take every account with a grain of salt, tapping into your own divinity first. The entire Ifá corpus was put together by individuals like you and me, based on their own accounts of how life worked and how it should work, how things should be done going forward. Some of those souls were highly evolved lightworkers, and everything in their parts of the corpus is relevant and enlightening to this day. Some others were put together by undeveloped (but developing) souls, and those parts are evidently sexist, low-vibrational, and otherwise uncomfortable to absorb. They are almost as bad as the patriarchal fable that the woman was created from the man's rib. 😂 That one definitely takes the cake. Lastly, the painting of the body in mimicry of the stars to appease egbé̩ ò̩run must be a new-world thing outside Nigeria. It's not a thing in Nigeria. After divination, people appease their egbé̩ in differing, interesting ways because we know that our soul groups differ. I really hope you find this enlightening at least, if not helpful.
@@yorubalessons adupẹ o for your response. Alafia ati ìbùkún, first before further confusion the ancestors spoke in idioms so taking things literal does come to mind. The problem is people get caught in the symbol take it literal start altering things then knowledge is loss. As for as ceremony where they paint spots imitating stars on body for ẹgbẹ I witnessed part of it in video. This is done in Ilesha by queen of Ilesha Senge Osunlewa Oloade. Unless i misunderstood or was taught wrong but regardless you let me know your insight because knowledge and spirit has its own way of correcting things.
@@yorubalessons Just a curious question. Have tried to examine the creation story directly from the IFA corpus or it's one of the yoruba creation tales out there that you are referring to?
To be honest, I think someone who is Hebrew needs to explain to you what these things mean. A Christian church has their own interpretation, but the true interpretation of heaven and hell isn't that we physically die and go somewhere. It is a spiritual death. Even Jonah went to hell, and David said you are with me whether I descend into hell, or ascend into heaven. These are spiritual places that you can go to dependent on you adherence to God, the appointed time after judgment. Those who do well ascend into heaven and, those who do poorly descend in the hell and it's only fair, because the wicked don't deserve heaven, and if we say that those who do good deserve hell, well that's not right either. So there are plenty of people on this Earth that are in heaven and hell right now, and if you've ever been on the street with the homeless who are twitching from demonic infestation, they are definitely asking for a drop of Spiritual water from someone who is dwelling spiritually in heaven. As far as the streets being lined with gold in heaven, people go to parties and talk about the decorations, and only makes sense to talk about the appearance of heaven. I don't think it's vain to say that there is a golden heaven everywhere. I think it's in vain to say you want to go to heaven just because there's Gold everywhere. Gold in the Bible also represents perfect spiritual refinement. That's why he said I will refine some as silver, and some as gold. My question is why would somebody's soul be on Venus or on Mars? Yes some people can come from the galaxy, those are called fake humans that are demonically possessed, because I have heard demons call themselves Stars etc. What makes a person from Venus or Mars different? What do these things represent concerning your soul coming from under the Earth, or your soul coming from in the heavens? They have to have meaning. God calls the earthly man Earth or son of man, and The heavenly Man son of God. I think of your soul comes from underneath the Earth, that probably is a liking to be an earthly man or a wicked man. I have felt like I was in heaven before, and it was enjoyable I did sing a lot, but the thing is I didn't worry about a thing, where the earthly men always worry. They worry about their ends being met, they worry about their friend and family issues, they worry about what they're going to wear, they worry about what people think etc. Heaven isn't like that there's no anxiety, or depression. The reason why it would seem boring to someone to sing all day, is because they are looking at things through an earthly lens and not a heavenly lens. The Bible says the reign of the heavens draws near, and it also says we are Spiritual houses, so our bodies when they are refined, and made into the image of God that is our spiritual house of Gold. Our souls are pure in that state.
