I love the fact that your inspiration so often comes from nature! The Sunflowers are beyond amazing & I’m not sure I could actually walk on the beautiful stepping stones!
Firstly thanks for taking us to Gibbs Garden - it's truly inspiring and we can see it coming through in your mosaics. Sunflowers coming up beautifully - the beaded centers look amazing. The stepping stones make me want to come there and jump from one to another !!!!
WOW WOW WOW I absolutely love your work! I'm getting supplies together to give this a try. Researching, taking notes...oh how I'd love to create something half as beautiful as yours!
Wow your work is beautiful. The sunflowers project has like a frame. Is this a picture or stepping stone? And are you placing pieces of glass one on top of others, or side by side? I love it but I’m confused. Would you please show how is the process of the sunflowers finish? Thanks so much.
Hello Elizabeth! The sunflowers mosaic took several weeks to finish, & I make one video/week. I’ve labeled the episodes so you can search for the next one & watch them in sequence. It is in a frame as it is wall art. I usually work on several projects at the same time & show progress on all of them. 🤪
Thanks for your response. I suscribe to your videos. It means you will show the finished sunflowers project? Or explain. After gluing everything what steps fallow. And did you glue pieces of glass one over another one to create effect of the petals? I had work in stained glass windows but now I like to learn mosaics. Happy I found you. You are amazing.
My goodness Julie….Gibbs Garden is breathtaking! I do wish Ca had anything close to what your sharing…the amt .of land alone is something but covered with flowers?.. Wow! What type of glue are you using for the beautiful stepping stones? I can’t find Mac glue. Thank you. Sunflower is gorgeous!
Are these stepping stones actually used for stepping on for your path or decorative? Wouldn't they be slippery to walk on with such a smooth surface? They are lovely in the garden, though!
@@mazzonimosaics8222 Tysm. There’s a Delphi in Lansing, MI. Not close enough to drive but I’ll look online I’ll be binge watching your vids this weekend. Tysm 😄
Your vision for each project is just gorgeous. Can you tell me how you choose what adhesive to use for outside stepping stones? This project seems to be a clear, possibly silicone adhesive, when I would assume outside would mean thin set. So confused. Any advise would be so appreciated.
Thinset is an excellent choice for an exterior project such as this. However, I used quite a bit of mirror which requires neutral cure adhesive. So I used GE Advanced Silicone 2 which is both waterproof and neutral cure.
@@mazzonimosaics8222hi Julie!! These are so pretty! You seal the stepping stone before you start…and then seal the grout after? Thanks!! Old and confuse easily.😊

I think it gets finished in Ep. 100 & 101.

I'm using GE Advanced Silicone 2. It is neutral cure for all that mirror as well as waterproof.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 thank you!
Thank you! This is what I dream to make! But how could I step on a beautiful artworks like this!
Go for it!
Hello, I'm going to do this one for my little courtyard that I am designing. Question: Did you grind any of the larger pieces?
Yes.
Are these stepping stones actually used for stepping on for your path or decorative? Wouldn't they be slippery to walk on with such a smooth surface? They are lovely in the garden, though!
Yes, it is a little path to the neighbor's house. We haven't had any problems since its just us!
What adhesive do you use to first attach the pieces before the grout?
Silicone. Because of the mirror.
😊👍💌
Thanks! 🙌👌
Could you tell me what you used to glue the stepping stone tiles down with please?
I try to put that information in the video description. I used GE Silicone.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 thank you. 😀
What substrate and glue did you use for the outdoors? It's gorgeous!!!
GE II Advanced Silicone. It’s in the description.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 I see it now in the description. Thank you. Did you use a regular stepping stone or make your own?
@@mariaprice3045 For these three, I purchased concrete stones for about $1.75 each at a hardware store.
I know this is 2 years out but I’m just now finding you 😊
Where wd a person get the glass rods?
You can order them from stained & fused glass suppliers like Delphi Glass.

Do you seal the stepping stones in any way
I seal them with grout & stone sealer before I start to prevent efflorescence.
@@mazzonimosaics8222hi Julie!! These are so pretty! You seal the stepping stone before you start…and then seal the grout after? Thanks!! Old and confuse easily.😊
I only seal the stepping stone before. Sealing it after works, but then it needs resealing every so often and I know I won’t keep up with that.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 great to know!! Thank you so much!
