as someone who plays minecraft for the building parts rather than the grinding and fighting parts, can someone explain to me why placing a bed and a leaf makes the dragon explode?
@@StormBurnX beds explode in nether and in the end so you cannot sleep over there and get to spawn in nether and end
@@StormBurnX You cant sleep on nether or end (set spawn other dimensions than overworld), another reason is that there is no night and day cycles like overworld. They could add just error message when trying to sleep, but whats fun on that :P
Dragon does not explode, just bed. That explosion hurts dragon and player

Multiple runners running a random seed at same time while blind from one another would be interesting as well.

I absolutely love how they explain all of the key game mechanics, even the easier ones. (i.e. flint, spawners, mob spawning algorithms etc.) It just makes it so much more enjoyable for people who are not too familiar with the game.

To me, the most amazing part of this speedrun is his enviornment awareness in such a massive new world
Yeah, I'm impressed he didn't look lost at all.
I mean, he only had to look for a desert, for efficient Endermen hunting. Savannas are usually spawning near the deserts (source of leaves, wood, animals).
This version is 1.7.x - it's a crucial information, since this version had all the biomes revamped, and how they are calculated/spawned for a newly generated world. Before 1.7, biomes would spawn chaotically (example: desert next to snow plains) which made no sense. After 1.7, biomes were grouped into the categores of climate: hot and dry, hot and wet, temperate, cold, etc... . Cold no longer could spawn next to jungles or deserts.
When he was running around, he saw a forest biome next to savanna - which meant, in that direction the climate gets colder, so he went the other way, and got to a desert. it's something, you can guess if you know how biomes work after 1.7.x versions of MC.
Yeah, here I am spending 10 minutes staring at a block in the distance wondering if it's always been there and this guy can zero in on endermen from halfway across the map.

The beds blow up because they used to crash the game when used outside the overworld.
OOOOOH, so that's probably why it says "Killed by [intentional game design]" when you die from a bed explosion, It's a joke because it was totally not intentional in the first place.
They could have just disabled the beds from being used though.

You should watch Magma Musen! I only played Minecraft Bedrock edition for like 2 years and Magma Musen taught me alot of tips and tricks!
I knew about it for a long time but never had to use it. Usually i want them to die before exploding so i don't have a crater outside my house.

I always thought Minecraft would way too RNG to run consistently. Now I have seen proof to the contary. Great run.

The predictability of RNG is what makes it as consistent as it has become. It all comes down to manipulating the RNG to your benefit and making it work to your advantage.
Watching world records of this game and Pokemon Platinum/Heart Gold (glitched) display this beautifully.
The improv is just an extra layer of challenge, on top of understanding the game's mechanics, skillful execution and remembering various strategies.
It's honestly not that different to a LttP randomizer run.
It *is* way too RNG, but this guy lucked out *hard*.

I love seeing random seed speedruns, it's way more interesting.
No idea how people can survive speedrunning minecraft often though, since the worst part of the entire game (hunting endermen for pearls) is the majority of the run
Lmao they just changed the combat again and enderman are much quicker to kill now (It's also quite easy to only get once with iron gear and diamond sword.)

After spending 2 months looking for a 3rd wither skull I now find that hunting endermen for pearls is the fun part
@@aarvlo Yes, new versions are much better for PVP, which is why every single PVP-based server has stayed on 1.8.9 for the last few years. 1.9+ PVP is boring af because it takes about 10 years to kill someone
@@tofufiish yeah that's such a weird and uncommon take. shield/timing 1/9+ pvp could be very interesting but with how op saturation is it's really not. they are nerfing it in the new snapshots though so i'm curious to see if it 1.9+ pvp will develop more interest in the future.

enderman drops weren't that good. so the RNG wasn't that kind, it was good tho
Great couch, plus even if it was a tad slow by modern standards it showed off a lot of the random problems you run into with Minecraft. I find watching flawless runs a bit troubling sometimes, if I wanted a TASBot I'd watch TASBot
Sick run, I've been playing Minecraft since 2010 and I always avoided any run that wasn't a custom map, because I thought the run didn't feel like Minecraft in spirit.
But I guess I never realized random seed was a thing, because it totally captures the feeling of discovery I get from minecraft just with a lot of speed.

i remember my first day playing minecraft when i was 14, i stayed up till 2 am just expanding my crappy house and exploring creepy caves. after taking a 2 year huge break, i took time to listen to the soundtrack and it instantly hit the feels. im 20 years old now and still play minecraft. :)

I love how me and a few people in diamond got killed by the dragon and his men on hard mode but this guy just has leather armor and a few beds.

Holy quack, I've been playing this game for 7 years now, but that menuing is insane to me.
This speedrun made me feel all of the emotions from when the run could've ended just from a zombie to when the RNG was by his side.
