I think people forget that sometimes, the side chick likes being a side chick. She likes getting the best the man has to offer; he's always happy to see her, it's always fun and sex is always hot/passionate and then he goes home. She doesn't have to deal with the stress of sharing finances and children with him or having to be his crutch when he's down. Not condoning or promoting "side chick culture" but I get why there are so many.

People should respect themselves and should respect others - being the other one, the side chick or whatever term you want to use is wrong. The man/woman who is in a relationship should grow some balls and leave the person they are with, if they are unhappy; if they are happy, they should leave the side person; the side person really really needs to learn how to respect their self worth!

Women know this and so feel it's better to tolerate some cheating then lose their man completely. I am generalizing based on what I've heard from numerous men and women and what logic tells me. I know that I'm putting myself out there with this comment, but last year I was a "side chick". I got pregnant by a man who lied to me about being married. In short my baby passed away about 2hrs after she was born, and he's moved on with someone else. There's a lot more to the story, but my point is that being the side chick is nothing to Glorify, and I agree with Tamera and Adrienne. Everyone, please be kind, faithful, respectful, and honest to your partner. Life is hard enough as it is. Take this from a 26yr old.

I fell for the okie doke... yeah I’m leaving blah blah blah. I don’t love her. I need to be in a better position before I leave. All of that. She had confronted me and I was honest with her. But the thing is... when I did try to leave I would always get the guilt trip and be told I was “backing out on us.” The funny thing is he was just was an energy leech. When she asked me, I was honest with her because she said she knew he wasn’t honest with her. So I told her what happened. Next thing you know, I’m being followed, people are just sitting outside my house, and it was both of them. Not just her. In the long run, if your man had a side piece he doesn’t respect either person. He’s a very selfish person. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone who is someone’s other person is a hoe or slut. That legit COULD be the ONLY person they were sleeping with. The person being the hoe is the man or said person who had someone on the side. I did receive my karma and learned my lesson because I went through a lot behind this mess. I didn’t just go in it looking for a taken person. I was going through some ish and he was there and next thing you know he’s telling me how his relationship isn’t working and falling apart. That’s how it started. Ladies, please save yourself the drama. If he really loves you or wants you he will come at you the right way. When his relationship is COMPLETELY and OFFICIALLY over!!!

What many people fail to understand is that plenty of “side chicks” like being just that. They don’t want to be the “main”. Lol. OR some of them are using the popular guys to get famous or to an even richer, more popular guy.

To be invested is too much work and some people don't want that burden.
Some of these side pieces just want to experience and benefit from the nice things for their own personal gain, and has nothing to do with love or self respect.

99.9% of the time the woman knows the man is in a relationship. Women are naturally curious and I doubt the “side chick” isn’t asking any questions i.e why are you hiding your phone and whatnot. So when they do find out, it’s THIER choice to walk away. Once you decide to stay, the respect you built for yourself is lost and people call you a “side chick”. All in all ladies, if you find out he’s taken, walk away. Don’t stay because of your feelings, he doesn’t care about them and his girl damn sure doesn’t either.
Even if the man does leave like they said, you have to have more self worth and love yourself so that you arent wasting time, energy etc trying to convince someone to be faithful to you by making you the main, when his actions showed that he was ok with cheating when you met him.

That's why you only get involved in a relationship where you are truly valued. My fiance and I have been together for 7 years and never had to deal with this b.s. We don't even use social media besides UA-cam lol and if we do we have the same passwords and accounts anyways. lol plus we're always together and ONLY are friends with people who have the same values in relationships and friendships as we do! So our friends are mostly either married couples with kids, engaged couples, or if they are single they are not out looking for side pieces or any of that. They are enjoying their single life while more so focused on their goals and when we get together, we're great hosts so we never make them feel like the third wheel. Idk I just agree with Adrienne. Men and women have to do better and star putting value on their relationships.
