I have three Retro 51 roller ball pens and one fountain pen (I bought two others as gifts). I have never been able to bring myself to use any of mine except one. It is the first one I purchased: the original elephant and rhino special edition (now I see people asking a hundred or two hundred dollars for theirs on eBay). The others are on the shelf. I handle them from time to time. The cylinder package is so cool, and the pens are deliciously made. I am ashamed to say I want to keep them like new. I came slowly to understand why fountain pen enthusiasts don't write with some of theirs.🐘
I’d like to see a Rubix cube fig boot collaboration . I think that would be neat. Roller or Fountain pen. Just a bunch of little completed ones around the barrels 😊
I've never heard of Wearingeul until now, but I instantly knew they were korean because 'geul', (pronounced something between 'gull' or 'gur') is a transliteration of 글, meaning 'writing' or 'letter', very appropriate for an ink company 😂 I'll have to check them out. Korea makes very good inks!
I love my Retro 51s! I have two rollerballs, two ballpoints, and two fountain pens so far. For a potential collaboration, how about some of the flora and fauna in your neck of the woods?
@@FigbootonPens Thank you for your reply. I have a Retro 51 William Morris. I would hate to see that eventually the paint on the barrel fades away due to posting the cap.
I'm really hoping this is released as a rollerball, as with my experience of their FPs, they don't seal well and dry out quickly. Really like this design, so keeping my fingers crossed.
How about a pen with a beer theme or a baseball theme. I'm a Phillies fan and would love to see some MLB pens from top brands. What do you think about that?
That was the most satisfying pop from the case.
He timed it perfectly

Your writing sample should have been “for the love of Cthulhu’s tentacled beard”!
Just rec’d my Monteverde Innova Ltd Ed. Lightning 0366/1999 in EF
How about a golf theme for your collaboration? Have they ever done one?
When the cap is posted, Does it scratch the paint on the barrel? Greetings
I have not experienced any scratching while posting.

It was previously released as a rollerball...and unfortunately, I believe it has sold out.
Ah, that's a shame. But thanks for letting me know. And great review as always.
@@azangana1973I think you can buy a converter to turn it into a rollerball
Rubic's Cube themed of course.
I think a figboot retro would have all the places youve traveled! Or a rubix puzzle… or both!

I've never had a Retro 51 although I was strongly tempted by the Alice in Wonderland pen. Thanks for the first look. I do like the coffeehouse theme.
Yeah, hopefully Retro releases the Alice as a fountain pen soon. And maybe do what Hinze does with their nibs.
I like to see some old and modern ship theme.
It seems like a collaboration would almost have to be golf or baseball, no?
[ETA: I see below someone suggested Rubik's cube...they win.]
kangaroo themed xd
