Awesome Craig, will have to try this when I have a chance and see how I prosper....thanks for doing! ~Jack, VEG

No problem Jack. I did however forget to turn the preamp OFF when I checked the sensitivity on AM :)

As a side note I tested the unit again with the pre-amp off on AM and still produced the same results on 144.100 MHz.

In your first test of the Icom on FM @144Mhz, you used .56uV, which is used until 50MHZ. @ 144mhz, it should have been .2uV

Other sources say that SINAD is ratio of powers, not voltage.

In the case of traditional CB radios based on the EPT360014B (or 15C) chassis, what is the correct way to adjust the signal because I noticed that the new radios limit the reception in the adjustments of the coils, that is, if I adjust the coils I get greater sensitivity and consequently a higher sinad ratio but it is factory set to something around 10 or 12DB depending on the manufacturer. So my doubt is what is the correct way to make this limitation in 12DB, which coils do I have to attenuate to reach this value?

Normally you start from the first IF transformer and work your way back to the final stage of the receiver section. I could just trace the receive RF path, but I would rather find some sort of service manual online so I can verify that the radio was aligned properly from the factory. So in the interim I used a standard sensitivity measurement to confirm what I suspected. I also had to readjust the bias adjustment on the PA MOSFET for SSB, from the factory it was drawing 2.5A with no modulation on SSB transmit. I readjusted it so the transceiver draws around 500-700mA during transmit with no modulation. This is makes me wonder if it was aligned properly to begin with. Thanks for watching!

Hello Dennis, the control is a rotary encoder. Thanks for watching.

@@CraigPetersen12f36b good videos, the control for HP ,meaning turns like a volume control or any detent,,my works great but no action like my other generators,,,,thanks

Hello Dennis, the encoder turns smooth, no indents. I have several HP power supplies that have similar encoders as well, they turn smooth also.
