what do you use to make your distorted guitars fit in the mix so well, I've been trying to make shoegaze beats but I keep getting stuck at this, if you could give me any suggestions on mixing (post processing wise, like compressors and all) or like what amp vsts you use that would be very helpful
i dont remember exactly which amp sim i used here but it was probably amplitube - for distorted guitars my go to amps there are the twin reverb or the hiwatt on the clean channel + pedals (big muff, boss hm2) im always worrying about fitting my guitars well hahah but something really useful is using multiple tracks to cover a big part of frequency spectrum (ex. double track the same line through a hiwatt, then double track through a twin reverb, then another double track with octaves up and then one mono track in the center - 7 tracks total for rhythm guitars) - gotta keep them in place tho, so like, eq the twin so it sits more in the high mids and less low mids, and eq the hiwatt to cover the low mids, for example these are not rules, just something i tend to do that makes the sound thicker spending time eqing the high mids and highs is big too, bc it's easy to get the guitars too spiky
My favorite producer right here. Somebody is going to make worldwide HITS to your music one day. Too consistent
