I’m loving the current crop of “great all-rounders” - light but strong, stiff but comfortable, mildly aero but not heavy, wide tyres for comfort but not slow, neat integration but with merciful consideration for mechanics. And personally I love the look of dropped seat stays which is lucky because nearly every brand is doing it nowadays!
Oh yes, I do own the Scott RC with the Ultegra DI2 components and it is an incredible riding machine. It is very agile with an excellent power transfer bb and geometry. The disc brakes, hidden cables, the color tone and golden band tires make it an attractive riding machine. I am very happy with mine.
Looking forward to this review. It was my close second choice as a purchase. I ended up ordering an Orbea Orca OMX, mainly because it hides the cables and lets me run my preferred bars. The 32mm tire capabilities and custom paint were other pluses. Still, I think the Scott Addict RC looks like a sweet ride.
Looks a nice clean bike, a maintenance video on how simple the cable routing is on the bike would be of interest. Thanks for the video all the best Andy
I wonder if the frame could handle a 30 or even 32 mm tire ( a size or two up from what it ships with). I would like to run 30mm Pro One's if we think it could fit (just one size up from what it ships with). Couldnt see a close up of clearance in the video. several of my routes cut across a few sections of dirt road and a bit of tire width is welcome. thinking about a Roubaix but not a fan of head tube suspension.
What a machine. Not getting warm with those wide tires because I think, I‘m not on a road bike for wellness reasons. But maybe a test will prove me wrong.
I reckon the 28mm tyres are for rolling resistance over aerodynamics. I base this off of GCN's video at the Mavic factory where Mavic themselves said that between 23, 25 and 28, the latter hade the least resistance. Also, any info about the cables. If you're running them all internally, why would you need outer cabling and just use inner cabling, or something lighter weight?
Thanks for the video! I live in the USA, and have been looking for an alternative to the Tarmac. Better color, no wires, more groupset for the money awesome. One question, I heard you mention about the fit. You said it fit well. How tall are you and what size did you ride? Thanks, Dwight Foreman
Jermaine Postlethwaite Completely different sort of bike. The Addict is a lightweight, climbing bike with aero features. The Madone is an unapologetic aero road bike. They both look slick though.
I agree. I’ve ordered the Orbea Orca OMX. I’ll use my Enve Aero bars, routing cables into the Orbea stem. Going with Di2 to avoid cable pinch/drag. I have a 2010 bike with mechanical Dura Ace 7900. Even without frame-routed cables, I get sluggish cable action routing from those levers through the Enve bars.

I've got the scott addict rc pro 2018 di2 mate
DO you think the frame could handle 30mm tires (one size bigger then what it ships with?).

I like the look of cables if done right, eg. contrasting colours, reminds you that its a mechanical machine

But it is really beautiful

I waiting for the 12 speed Shimano Di2 .... Any know the release date ?
Some say late may.
is that 6.9 with dura ace pedals?
Simply change the stock old Schwalbe Ones to the new
Ones, which are tubeless.
Do pro's ride RC Ultimate? or Premium model?
Does anyone know if the rear axle width is 135mm or 142mm?

I am curious just how bi of tires this bike could accommodate
- a 30mm on these rims would be cool.
Can it be returned?
That dude looks fucking slick on that Addict.
Any idea how this bike lines up with the new cannondale SuperSix Evo?
Looks like a Tarmac and a Venge had a baby... LOL
PaulHD_ CYC Not the worst if you ask me
This bike vs a Madone????

I tried both and decided for the Scott because it is a best value with top tier performance.
@@braulioperez181 Thanks for the feedback.....I have a Madone I may get this as my 2nd bike👏🏽👌🏾
Those higly integrated bikes are NOT good for mechanical shifting,i dont know why they still push it on that kind of bikes.
Di2 or etap
David Harper
Those sharp corners can make shifting only worse.
Not to mention installation and maintanance

Just demo'd RC 10 and no issues with cable routing/shifting
7400€ retail and no di2. Come on, guys.
meh 23mm and rim breaks are better
lol
