I lived there about a decade ago. If it weren't for a job change, I would have stayed there. A wonderful medium sized city! And so inexpensive and close to all the Lake Erie attractions.
Left California last month, and purchased a home in Toledo. I love it here, and feel very much at home already. The weather is capricious and unpredictable, but I actually enjoy the surprises. The people have been welcoming and friendly, and the pace much more relaxed than California. My only regret is waiting so long to make this move.
419 glass city baby...its got great things about it and some bad like most places, also like most places its home..so when you leave it definetely calls you back ♡
This is a lovely video, and Toledo really is a lovely little city - thanks for highlighting it! The only incredibly minor thing is it's pronounced Mawwwwmee, not mao-me. Nice job!! :)
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Great video about the city I grew up in! The botanical gardens is not downtown though. It’s on the west side of the city about 8 miles away from downtown.
I have to say Toledo has gotten way better than it used to be. BTW, the botanical gardens is not downtown it's actually on the whole complete other side of town LOL
Yeah, it's barely wthin the city limits in extreme SW part of the city. Old Adams township. It sits on the boarder of Sylvania township. It is really pretty but shouldn't have been ranked ahead of the zoo
Seems like a really sleepy town. All recent videos I've watched show clean if often broken streets, plenty of trees & small housing stock. But the neighborhoods look largely devoid of street-front shops, pedestrian & motor vehicle traffic, with many open lots where I assume properties either burned or were torn down. In short, the town appears to have gone through some very bad times but is on the road, if bumpy, to recovery. I'm considering a job there & I like what I see in general. The Rust Belt has had a tough few decades so it's great to see progress.
Yeah it reached peak population of 383,000 in the 70s and has dropped by almost a third. Which works in residents favor because property value and rent are lower than the national average. Cheaper cost of living. Slower pace of life. Less traffic. Moved here 20 years ago and a lot has changed for the better. Not perfect by any means but it has so much going for it considering it's size
Just down I-75, the Historical Construction Equipment Association's 36th annual International Convention & Old Equipment Exposition is September 23-25, 2022, at our National Construction Equipment Museum, 16623 Liberty Hi Road, Bowling Green, Ohio! 300 to 400 working and static antique construction, farming and military machines, trucks, engines and more! 9-7 Friday, 9-5 Saturday, 9-3 Sunday. $10 per day, $20 weekend pass.
The last time I went back I encountered a lot of people that were depressed and bitter. I don’t think I would have recognized it had I not gone somewhere else and lived for years. Broke my heart. I’m only one person and it was only one personas observation so don’t get your panties in a bunch Toledoans. Besides, no matter if every man woman and child in Toledo was bitter for some reasons, you still have Packos and that negates it all.
As a Toledo native I can agree and disagree about these places being great but in actuality half of them are becoming the hood. It sucks but I don't think I'd be able to sleep without the sound of gunshots and police sirens going off. That's home #419love
Born and raised in Cincinnati. Have family all over Ohio. Lived in Cleveland for about 2 years. Toledo would have to be my least favorite city in Ohio but it’s in Ohio so it gets a pass lol.
@@601TRAVELS lol. I’m not taking it personally. But you took my comments seriously. Perhaps read my comments on the “toledo sucks” video. Another great place to visit is Fort Meg’s battle field.
I lived in Toledo for a year…. There were some cool places to see. But overall I was less than impressed with my experience there. I consider my time in Toledo the most unhappy, un-interesting time of my life.
....so don't live in a crappy neighborhood. The majority of the area is great! IF you're comparing a midwestern town to, like, San Diego or something - sure. It might fall short. Duh. But it's a great city to live in - plenty to do, low cost of living, pretty (4 seasons!), not even much annoying traffic. If you don't like it - leave. We don't want your negativity here anyway :-)

If you go to east Toledo make sure you can protect your self
@@SD-nh5yr lmao right? Idk what’s up with all these people saying it’s a nice place. It’s not 😂😂

Love Toledo OH!
The Huntington Center in Toledo Ohio is a good place to be for country concerts and Toledo Walleye hockey

is this place near Detroit and Chicago? 👀
I seen a black Catherine. Interesting.1.5
My city sucks. But we love it anyway.
Nice
Todelo?
Good video, but only ranking the Zoo 10th?? Zoo should have been #1 or #2 with the Art Museam #1. Maumee Bay and Oak Openings arent even in Toledo.
I like this video
Thanks for watching!
Ur welcome
The University of Toledo is worth visiting.
So basically 8 places inside the actual city 😇 I'm moving there this winter!
Lucky!
Welcome! As a lifelong resident, I hope you enjoy the city and the wonderful people here.

As a Toledo resident be careful where you live cause it’s shady in some places
So, update?
LaGrange Street, Polish Village , North End, Toledo, Ohio

IT USE TO BE! ( MID 70's and before)
One of my relatives designed the roundabouts at Dorr and I-75, Angola and king and The one on phillip.

I’ve lived in Toledo for my entire life and have no problem saying this city is trash. There is a reason it’s called little Detroit
No one calls it little detroit. Both cities are different.

How do you do a video of Toledo Ohio worst places to live and then do a video of how great it is? Do you see the irony?
