  • In this video, Salwa Eid Naser, the silver medalist in the women's 400m at the 2024 Paris Olympics, faces intense scrutiny from reporters during the post-race press conference. Naser, who crossed the finish line in 48.53 seconds, was questioned about her two-year doping ban that kept her out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The reporters, particularly those from Ireland, grilled Naser on her past anti-doping violations and how it has affected her career.
Despite her impressive performance in Paris, Naser’s past continues to cast a shadow over her achievements. In 2019, she ran 48.14 seconds at the World Championships, the fastest time in 34 years, but her career faced a setback due to missed drug tests, leading to a suspension. Now, as she returns to the Olympic stage, the questions about her past are louder than ever.
Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic took gold in the race, setting a new Olympic record with a time of 48.17 seconds. Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek secured the bronze, while Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth.
This video captures the tension and emotion as Naser is confronted with questions about her ban, and it sheds light on the complex legacy of one of athletics' most controversial figures.

Loved how she handled these questions and remained centered in her truth. It's easy for media personnel to misconstrue information shared by the several agencies that handle testing and wherabouts information. However, as stated, she served her penalty and moved forward and has since upheld her testing schedule. Although, she is tested more than her next 3 peers combined.

Congratulations to all three women for their amazing performance. I'd like to give a special "shout out" to Salwa for her tenacity and resilience. Despite the unfair treatment of the athletic committee and certain members of the press, she responded with grace and integrity.
