What made me hate this game from the start is the outrageous hacking of game content to be sold as an buyable addon aka DLCs. The ugly protagonist, bad trailers, technical issues etc. all compounds the poor first impression. Not to mention it came from Ubisoft already coming hot from a number of failed open world games earlier this year. I can only hope that Ubisoft does what EA did during their time with this IP, and turn it around because their latter 3 of their Star Wars games were great. As mentioned the Jedi games are great, and also Squadrons was pretty good but is so freaking awesome in VR! Anyway, if Ubisoft actually goes and purge the toxic filth that rots in their studios, like their CEO, then they just might a chance.

When Disney reached out to Ubisoft and Activision, it wasn't about making Star Wars games without having to pay for the license; it was about the fact that the license would no longer be exclusive to EA. That was an opportunity for Ubisoft and Activision, and Ubisoft took that opportunity while Activision did not.

The answer is simple. Allow player choice for game protagonists. Want a super model? Make one. Want a blue-haired overweight non-binary character? Make one. The lack of player choice is my biggest gripe.
Nah, not every game is served by having a character designer. Sometimes a lead character needs its own design. If you put a character creator in every game, then you're basically asking for the end of memorable characters. No more Nathan Drakes, Lara Crofts, Solid Snakes.... heck, it also means no more Marios or Sonics. Hero characters with baked-in designs are important.

They're not allowed to publicly criticize the game, which would hurt sales. So, even bad games, historically, weren't openly criticized by developers. That means developers, today, are seriously unhappy with how they've had their hands tied and can't even speak out internally now.
