About the trunk: It is possible to even out the floor when seats are folded by lifting the bottom cover on a higher setting. You can see the option for this at 3:58. The floor becomes little angled, but there will be no notches (or atleast minimal) between trunk floor and the seats.
@@abraxastulammo9940 He was nice a few years ago but now Sandy sounds like biased to me...
@@abraxastulammo9940 Damn that video with Sandy in ID.4 was sad. Sure, the UI is bad, but not THAT bad. He literally had zero clue. :(
@@mrmerm Bias? You drive the VW and its instant bias. It's like they wanted it to feel like a gas car. MEB platform is not impressive. All you have to do is look at the frunk and you can see very little redesign was done. Very disappointing. I test drove the VW ID4 and couldn't believe how crippled it feels.
@@domg7359 I didn't see anyone take actual measures of the hood length, to see how it compares to a Model3/Y...
Why bother with a frunk if it would only fit gloves and no changing cable.
@@seb. It's way bigger than the M3 or MY frunk area. It's filled with legacy auto crap. Very little design thought went into that cluster.
It's real leather, the eco refers to the way they have coloured it
@@nils2868 yes, like I said :-) Can't wait for mine to arrive. Bye bye model 3
@@nils2868 my mistake, I thought tanning was the colouring process
@@wolfgangpreier9160 it goes as fast as we're allowed to go in Scotland so much the same as my model 3. 😂 I'm hoping it will have much better wipers cruise control, voice commands etc. Those are just crap on my model 3
@@enyaq_gorm Tesla haven't made a voice command version for Scottish accent, I guess. The English voice commands works impeccable in my Model 3, even though I'm Norwegian. Fingers crossed that Skoda Enyaq understands Scottish, I won't hold my breath ;)
@@bjrnrunarlarsen3229 from what I read in Facebook groups English people have just as many problems. Enyaq will use android auto so I know that understands my accent perfectly. Should be problem free. My model 3 does understand somethings "****ing stupid car" makes it turn up the heat 1.5 degrees for example 🤣
00:28 Did somebody infalte that Skoda Octavia or did Bjorn shrink dramatically over night?
The leather is real leather from cows. However, it was pre-tanned with extracts from the leaves of the olive tree and is therefore free of chrome - in contrast to conventionally tanned leather.
Armrest is not fixed, it is adjustable... Lift it up and then move it slowly down (you will feel it clicking).
It's the other way, from the bottom lifting up it will tick and stay at any angle, until you reach the top which allow it to go back to horizontal.
and it's even adjustable in length.
Skoda rocks with those tiny details, can't believe it's not in all cars.
He meant adjustable in forward and aft maybe?
@@Hans_tH I'm pretty sure it's adjustable in length and height.
@@seb. not in length
The moment when the secondary brand is better than the primary one ☝️
True , and it's been +5years already that smart people buy Skoda and not VW
I much prefer this Skoda to the Lexus you showed us a couple of days ago.
There's an understatement
I would have been shocked if you preferred the lexus
0:57 I had this trunk cover in my Passat Estate. You just need to push the leap down, no need to put your hand in the grab handle position (this is only to pull it back). In my Passat you pressed it once, it went to the middle, then you pressed it again, and it went all the way back.
You can just slap it on the edge (towards you) as well to make it fold in :-)
Those are the real simply clever things 👍
You can get a flat floor. You have to pull the boot cover towards you then lift it slightly and then push it back in. It sits on the plastic mounts and you get a flat floor.
Piano black crazy scratches at 17:58 😭
Why is this trend not over yet
The arm rest is not fixed. It is adjustable to up and down and to front and back. It tried two weeks ago.
You can move the floor of the trunk up a "notch" which makes a more flat floor.
Hey Bjorn, I think the leather is cow-sourced but dyed using an olive extract.
The seats are made of real leather. ua-cam.com/video/VIcDclg8_7s/v-deo.html
Yes recycling of slaughterhouse waste. Tanned with olive leave extract. Made of waste... ecologically ...
@@abraxastulammo9940 no Recycling. The Leaves and the Skin have not been used yet.

20:39 the oxford dictionary uses the words engine & motor interchangeably. in german & czech, there’s no differentiation between the two and both languages just use the word “motor”.
edit: i’m just trying to explain why it might not be a big deal to vw/skoda engineers or indeed most of the people.
We use motor in both languages - but we also use inženýr (CZ) and der Ingenieur (DE) in both. They are not just occupations, also degrees from all "technical" universities.
@@lubosmotl5200 yes, but the meaning of engineer is unrelated to combustion/electric engines/motors.
www.etymonline.com/word/engineer
”Start motor” would also be incorrect. ”Start/shut down” or similar would be closer tio the function of the button.
..or ”on/off”.
More importantly, who cares which words are written on a button you cannot even properly see.
It looks like you can raise the false floor one more step to make the floor flat when you fold the seats. Is it possible, or is it just me?
That's right.
You can. I think it was Carwow or Fully Charged I have seen do it.
Yes you can.
You can lift the floor cover to make it flat. Skoda has especially made this solution so you can ánd have as much storage in the back with the floor low ánd have a flat floor when you pull it and push it back in the lifted position
Damn you are the smartest guy on youtube. The first one to use leg to push the tow hook. Others are silly and have dirty hands.
“Two fists when you have the foreskin retracted”
Quote of the year
I would prefer that the drive shifter knob went forward for drive and backwards for reverse and not vice versa.
Looks like you can move the rear cover up on the next level to get a flat floor.
I wish you'd take a minute to show the sitting position in the middle seat, especially for big cars like this. Otherwise a great review as always!
4:55 It is real leather, they just use olives to tan the leather.
When exiting the car, I pull the handle with my right hand and push the door with my left hand. This also allowes me to get to a position in which I can easily double check the back for incoming cyclists.
3:50 I think you can slide the floor into that slot to make it "flat" floor.
Bjorn, you are too impatient with the kicksensor (virtual pedal). Just 1 kick and then wait. It will open.
I have the car and the sensor and if you don it like you do, the sensor will have to many signals (open close open close)
You cant have an automatic liftgate with the sensor so you must have it.
This is a great electric car. It is the first real family-EV and its price-performance is excellent. And it is great looking, especially in black and the right wheels... Did you do the sleeping-test? This is a 45000 Euro-Car with the space and the range of some 80.000 Evs. Game changer in my opinion, especially for the family fathers who hesitated changing to the EV world.
I test rode the Enyaq just today and it has some real pluses and some minuses for me personally. Pluses are clearly the quality of materials and built, practicality as always with Skoda, very nice seating, very comfortable ride and suspension. I specifically lik3d the interior in the front: reduced number of buttons etc, still too many for me, but acceptable, and the screen is much better fitted into the entire design than in the ID4, esp the small screen in front of the wheel is nicely integrated. Minuses -very personal just for me : not really sportive driving, too many things only as 3xtra which should be standard such as heat pump which drive the price up like crazy, seems like passenger seat is never electronically adjustable. And as in sadly many many cars no electronically adjustable steering wheel. The steering wheel is a bit thin for my long f8ngers, but that is very individual. The real drawback and for me a killer is the nav software. When selecting any destination it offered charging stations BUT only 50kw ones , had to search for a highspeed charger myself. Makes no sense. And also selecting waypoints etc not really intuitive. But still overall a great car, just not for my personal needs (sportive, high efficiency and range, minimalist: so yeah will most likely be the M3LR). And in everything to me much better than the ID4. For someone looking for an EV SUV with top quality, practicality and ride quality, it could be the first choice. Also fairly economic which I like. 👍
Like it. Well done Skoda. Need a Frunk / Froot for the charging cables so you don’t have to remove cargo when you need them. Seems to be a lost concept for this and ID4. High price for the Skoda branded product from VW Group.
it is real leather but instead of chemicals they use olive stuff to produce / ferment it. and you can readjust the loadfloor so the step with the folded down seats goes away.
20:18 the horn 😂
It has a kick-sensor, Bjørn😊
I love the Bitcoin holder.
Yess.. nice to have🤣
I am a Bergenser and I approve Bjørn's message regarding the umbrella storage. This car is a MUST buy for me now !
Just came from the store where the seller showed us the enyaq.
Seems he he showed us most stuff, but not the umbrella storage. But then we live at Østlandet, so maybe not so important...
The metal thing at 1:40 is a towing hook that you mount in case the car needs to be towed.
Was going to say this. It screws into a hole in the front or rear bumper like this images.app.goo.gl/mm6TPPzXkpw1cC5v9

Motor and engine are same thing. Engine is a synonym of motor and both terms can be used interchangeably.
Nope
@@bjornnyland well yes according to various dictionaries :)
Wikipedia describes this dispute nicely:
„Motor and engine are interchangeable in standard English. In some engineering jargons, the two words have different meanings, in which engine is a device that burns or otherwise consumes fuel, changing its chemical composition, and a motor is a device driven by electricity, air, or hydraulic pressure, which does not change the chemical composition of its energy source. However, rocketry uses the term rocket motor, even though they consume fuel.“
@@bjornnyland in Czech its the same
Its real leather but its treated with olive extract
I like the Enyaq. It seems to be a practical and affordable. I wouldnt mind to have it as family car. But I would like to have 4wd version. How reliable are the MEB platform over 8 years? What is the total ownership cost? How is it with rust treatment for electric cars?
I understand it is difficult to store the charging cables but If you are on a holiday with the Boot / Trunk filled with cases and Junk. Having to unload your luggage to get to the charging cables seems extremely inconvenient. Surely cables should be easier to access. Why not store them in the front compartment / Frunk? even if there is no actual Frunk there must be space for the cable.
If there is no frunk, you cannot put something in it. That's basic logic, I would say. The front compartment is really not suited to store cables in.
@@davidsommen1324 No "Frunk" does not mean there is no space. A compartment built into spaces that are there if you look may hold a cable if the area was designed to do so. If they are clever enough to build the car I would think it's within their intellect to place a cable in a position where it is protected from the weather but easily accessible, it just needs someone with a bit of thought to do it. The boot compartment is historically where underfloor storage was placed but we are now entering into a new era where cars are designed to suit the application.
Store the cables to your luggage and you have no problem. Don't make things complicated! 😉
@@jline3701 OK but I use my Boot / Trunk all the time and having to dig out the cable from underneath would be a nuisance and having it floating around in the back is not a good idea. I don't know how easily the cables can be damaged but it would somehow need to be fixed so it is not jumbled up with everything else.. I have always found that if you make something difficult people won't do it so a dedicated easily accessible at all times storage compartment will have to be the way forward. EV apostles will suffer for their beliefs but when the masses have to have an Ev it will be a regular pain in the A..
@@charlesholder8009 Oh I agree it would be better that there was a frunk where you could put the cable in. But in the case of the Enyaq, that is just not the case.
Nice review ...I could have sworn Bjorn said "We have this Ed Sheeran " at 3:42 :)
Did I miss something? Is Bjørn just joking? The screw with a closed looped head is a towing hook. Always follow Bjørn if you want to hear the « good shit » 😅
Rear seat height/thigh support looks much better than Ionic 5.Good luggage room for trips. I'd buy this if they brought it to Australia this year.
Pretty pissed off they aren't.
Is this guy a professional car reviewer? If people were deciding purchasing a vehicle by characteristics like how flat the trunk could be when the rear seats were folded, if the armrest was fixed and the reasoning behind how the doors opened, based on this they would get the wrong info regarding this vehicle.
The false floor can move up and be fixed in notches clearly visible on this video to flatten the trunk, the armrest is adjustable and the door has that particular configuration to be opened two handed, to force people to look back (seeing the if there's incoming traffic or people) before fully opening it.
The trunk cover will slide back when you just tap it down, preferably in the middle right where the handle is to pull and close it again…
I love when your (northern dialect) Norwegian feelings and words comes out 🤣🤣🤣
So unexpected from a Asian English speaker.
There are slids in the back of the trunk so you can highten the load floar to slight sloap.
High quality review, as always! Very thorough
@5:30 - ah, ok so the blinds get easily 'kaput' in the Enyaq, too. I won't bother specifying them, then and will save some money. The kids did exactly the same to a C Class Merc I had 5 years ago.
Looks way more premium than the Lexus
So: it's bigger than the ID4, the interior is nicer and it's cheaper without sacrificing any of the goodness of its power-train.
Whyever would anyone buy the ID4 over this?
For some people, the brand is everything.
In DK the skoda is 6000-10000eur more expensive for about the same trim level. So it's more in Q4 territory.
Absence in some markets for example.
The car has a big HUD which was more important than a big drivers display to them. Tesla poorly has no HUD.
But Model3/Y has a nice gauges cluster... Oh wait 😂😂😂
Interesting car!
Can the Panorama roof actually open for fresh air?
Yep, not much but it can
You can make it almost flat floor taking up the thing on floor
Better than ID.4 but still hard plastics like inside doors panels and handles. New Skoda Fabia door handles look better.
eGolf also has fabric in the door pocket and the Start Engine button is also for a case of emergency i think…
"Foreskin retracted" 🤣 I've to get wife to help me with that one...
A sedan is more efficient (less environmentally damaging). A sedan is also less a of tank to drive. I prefer a car to a SUV or SUV-lite. It does look like a very nice car though. Skoda has been making very nice cars recently.
The best cars in the VW-family nowdays.
It's definitely NOT synthetic leather, it's just animal skin with some less polluting olive treatment
Very nice leather!
For me more important is bms than onboard software , for me car is not a smartphone , i care only about stuff important for mech and electricity
The VW operating system which is based on Android can be re used by every brand with the possibility to adapt the look and feel to the own brand. Very intuitive, i like it. (Very androidy). I am wondering if the Skoda uses the same E/E architecture.
I dig that brown interior, very classy and modern
Why buy the ID4 when you can have this?
Because it's way more expensive compared by equal trim levels.
Mate, you've forgot about the sound system! Is it better than ID4, or still crappy ?
What is the exterior colour of this Enyaq? Is this the silver option?
The bitcoin holder in the center console looks very practical!
It can take every currency from Reichsmark to Dogecoin 😉
Because of that slope of the backseats folded, the Berlin Y has a chance to do a draw in the banana box test. I bet it will do a draw. (with the box in the frunk)
What is the button in the trunk for? I didn’t understand what Bjorn said.
Tow hitch.
@@FrankEriksmoen thank you!
Nice that Skoda added paddle controls for the regen. I think VW doesn’t have it in the ID.3 and 4, right?
That's right.
Hey, Bjorn. Will you do the tests for the smaller battery version (60)?
Nice Video 👍 What kind of language do you use in between?
Hey bjorn great videos always, the thing in the back is a towing eye 😉. It´s funny that you don´t know that, but now you know 🙂

Didn't we talk about long German words once in a while? Here is a random and long German word that I read in a recent article.
"Geschwindigkeitsüberwachungskonzept". Means concept for the surveillance of speed. It's a term for the speed camera strategy of a municipality.
In a way ok review, but. Big face palm for the faults and missing information in the video. Examples being kick sensor, real leather seats colored by olive, armrest can be moved, flat floor in the boot. So many electric cars out there now, maybe a cheat sheet would be a solution? Many of the car reviewers now openly use cheat sheet with facts. I like it as it ensures me the factual information I am looking for, not only personal opinions.
I'm sorry. I didn't know.
‘Today we talk about the interior....This is the front of the car.....😉
And the remaining 99.9 % of the video was about the interior :P
They made the instrument cluster really tiny and the infotainment intrusively big.
In my eyes the Enyaq hast netter build quality than the ID4 . Outsider and inside
This car costs here around 44.000 euro's. If this car was around 24.000 euro's it would be insanely good priced.
"If my grandmother had wheels, she would be a bike" ;)
18:07, bit coins! :-)
Thank you for great walk-throughs! You mensioned your frustration over the use of the word engine. An engine is a way of transforming any kinds of energy to mechanical energy. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine
By the way. The button is only you to run engine/heating/cooling without driving. No need to press button to start driving, just press brakepedal and set shift to drive
20:38 VW has a huge shelf of parts, every time they can save 1 cent in production, they will use that shelf for Audi, Porsche, Škoda, Seat, Bugatti, VW etc. So this part sharing will not go away any time soon. Tesla has no shelf, they do everything new, there for perfectly tailored to the needs of the car.
Yes. They save a ton of cents every time they do it.
"Tesla has no shelf, they do everything new, there for perfectly tailored to the needs of the car."
Which is exactly why they have such bad quality and just skip some parts entirely (like the instrument cluster in the M3) and call it clean design... When in reality it's just money saving and the car is worse without them.
@@BilldalSWE Not true on many levels. First, China Teslas are absolutely perfect. Perfect quality, not even BMW can match. Hoping for the same Quality form Giga Berlin. Only Fremont gives us the typical bad US Quality, every manufacture knows very well. For instance BMW, all cars from USA have similar issues. Second, yes money saving interior, but also very nice and roomy. Not having an instrument cluster in front, gives you better vision and the fan design would not be possible without it. Tesla saves ther, but gives superior battery, motors(efficiency) and charging infrastructure. I think they did it right. Supercharger are way more important than the interior of other cars.
thanks a lot. Do you scheduled tout do samedi for gps to see charging stop during Travel compare tesla. Thanks.
I currently own a TM3 LR. I dig the simplicity of the interior, UI etc. Although this Enyaq fits my use case perfectly, as I live at the end of a gravel road in the woods, I find all the knobs, small screens etc. quite dated and a turn-off. I'm not sure if I can leave those features of the Tesla behind. Fewer parts also mean smaller carbon foot print (other factors being equal).
Personal taste. I find I need to pull over to adjust things on my model 3 because I don't memorise where things are in the menu. Much prefer a button I can just reach out and feel by touch
The design is more pleasing to the eye, but a Skoda being more expensive than it's VW counterpart...?
Also I’m surprised that electric cars haven’t completely taken over EUROPE already ?!
I mean gas is 3 times as expensive there as it is in US , u would think everyone would already have switched. Gas blows , literally
20:27 I wish my knob adjusted cruise control 😂

Did I miss something or.. well anyway does it have the same break setup as the ID 4, with drum breaks?
It's brakes. And yes.
ROFL at the “engine” start/stop button 😂
After all engine doesn't have to be internal combustion related...
search engines do not have exhaust pipes 😂
@@seb. You don't start the electric motor with that button, either. But with the accelerator pedal.
@@dezz00002 it says engine, not motor... Maybe it's the onboard/gpu engine after all 😂
@@abraxastulammo9940 Do you mean regenerative braking? That's one method to activate the motor (in contra mode), right. But how is it "more likely" to do so than pushing on the accelerator pedal? (Or "pulling" it, in one-pedal-driving mode, in which case it activates the regenerative braking, as well.)
@@abraxastulammo9940 No, but we're talking about two different things here. One is waking up the car and the other is starting the engine (motor) itself. The electric motor normally receives no power while it isn't actually driving the car. (*) The amount of power it receives is closely related to the level of the accelerator pedal. Regarding the steps of waking up the car, it depends on the model. Some doesn't need anything other than you enter the car.
* A notable exeption is when the motors of a Tesla Model 3 and Y are utilized in a special way to generate heat.
