- Every show, whether a concert, play, musical, cabaret, or standup, has to establish the "rules" for its audience to follow. Here's why it is important for writers and performers to heed the warning: TRAIN YOUR AUDIENCE!
As I write my own musical, I dissect how a show ignored this advice to its detriment, and list three successful musicals that exemplify this technique: Book of Mormon, Les Miserables, and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. - Розваги
Excellent! I love how you bring it back to your musical. It'll be interesting to see how you do that with your story. Well done again Scott.
Thanks. And I'll be interested too see how I put this into practice in my story too!
So clever. I never think about the audiences role in theatre. I remember watching cruel intentions and a lady next to us was trying to sing along to every song because it is a jukebox musical. However the lyrics had and the timing of the music had changed slightly to fit the story, but annoyingly this lady thought it was a sing along.
I hear your pain, Hannah. At least a show like Sing-Along Sound of Music states its intention in the title - the audience is expected to participate. Thanks for watching again.
