I have a friend in a town I used to live in who used me for pet sitting. She asked if I’d be interested in continuing to do so if she flew me in. We worked it out that she doesn’t pay me, she pays my airfare which is about equal to my fee. I then have free airfare, free room and board in a town I’d like to visit anyway and full use of her car so no expense of a rental. I get to see old friends including her (I arrive a few days early for time with her) Symbiotic for all involved
There are some fantastic sitters out there who will make your trip enjoyable because you won’t have to worry while you’re away :) Let us know how you get on!
Thank you! I'm pretty great with dogs and cats, but would certainly be willing to step out and include other animals. I have administered meds, light grooming, etc. I contact you on your site.
I'm watching this because very soon I'll bring my cat (who's been living my dad) to live with me, and I've always been so independent and loved travelling, but my girl needs me now and I have to be there for her. It's just that I'm so uneasy about the whole thing, travelling and feeling guilty of leaving her with strangers, or not travelling and feeling trapped. I know, I know. It all sounds like I'm making a storm in a teacup, but that's who I am. Can't help it :-/ But I don't want to fail her or myself and my dreams. What has it been like for you if you're a pet mum or dad, leaving your pet with sitters?
You just love your cat 😊We're traveling and house-sitting now with our Westie, London. We feel exactly the same when we use house sitters as well. Thankfully, we have met some amazing house sitters who treat our baby like their own😍👍

Great info! Thinking of setting up our first trip and bring others in to watch our place and our fur and fen babies.
