Ah yes. Celestial Colonnade. The perfect card for depicting those times when you are peacefully walking through a valley on a warm summer's day and suddenly one of the mountains jump kicks you in the throat.
One note on Heart of Kiran, it's part of an infinite combo with Kiora and Karn, where you can fetch up a Pestilent Cauldron and the Heart to repeatedly loop the planeswalkers in and out of the yard for infinite mana, using the Heart to reduce their loyalty to 0, then get them back with Restorative Burst. It isn't popular on MTGO, because of the large number of clicks required.
@@nharviala i looked it up: you need to generate 14-15 green mana with Nykthos, cast Restorative Burst to get back Kiora and Karn from the graveyard, cast them, use Kiora to untap Nykthos and Karn to get back Burst from exile (the front side is an artifact), then remove all lotalty counters with Heart and repeat
I'm sort of surprised Faceless Haven didn't get enough points before it's banning. I also assume The Wandering Emperor will eventually reach the top 10.

Vigilance is one of those keywords I truly believe is perfect, a flawless and supremely balanced keyword. No complaints about vigilance. It's one of those keywords that never breaks a card, just enhances it. It is one of the few things I would consider perfect, the other being "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
Still a boring list, I would think. Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Mana Crypt, and Brainstorm are guaranteed to be on that list. Tolarian Academy, Yawgmoth's Will, Bazaar of Baghdad, and Mishra's Workshop are also likely candidates.
I do wish it was Friday already, I wanna go pick up my copy of Party Time. Vigilance is my number 1 underrated keyword, because people often forget it, for better or worse.
So happy to see an MTG Top 10 that's back to judging cards by their competitive performance. I often overlook Vigilance, but as this list demonstrates, on the right creature it can powerfully impact the game.
The EDH thing is only going to show up in videos on legendary creatures, and it isn't like it even had a major impact on the list! It was basically small bonus points, you make it sound like I threw everything else out the window!
@@NizzahonMagic I recognize that it's what you wanted to do with the list, and it's clearly proven popular with much of your audience. It's just not for me. I wanted to make sure to drop a comment on a video of yours that WAS for me, because that helps on UA-cam and your content is always great. :)
You know what might be a fun variation on this series (possibly for an April 1st vid)? Doing a throwback version of one of these top 10s from a year in the distant past. "And the #1 card with vigilance is... Serra Angel"
I woulda bet money Nissa would be number 1. That card has been in what feels like every deck with green mana since it printed. Its so good. In 4 years I bet it will be number one. I think Batterskull will slow down in points where as Mono G devotion is still the dominate deck of pioneer and likely wont go away. Wait and see!
Have you ever done a on the top 10 highest cost cards. I was looking at a few and know most are cheated into play, but wonder if any like Enter the Infinite 8 UUUU were ever played.
I'm guessing Serra's Blessing (white enchantment 2 & 1 white mana: all your creatures get vigilance) is not on this list because very few people have heard of the card
white was the cradle of lots of keywords and mechanics, now green took them (vigilance and gaining life, to name a few), but at least stole the double strike from red
Could we get EDHrec points added to all lists in the future? It ain't just legendary creatures that get a whole breath of new life from the format, that make them dominant in Magic as a whole!
I don't think Mantis Rider is gaining many points right now. The Modern Humans deck is not really in the meta anymore, and it looks like the last time the Rider gained a point was April 2020, best I can tell.
I find it quite sad that so many new green cards are slowly taking over the top 10 of vigilance, which historically has always been the representative white keyword. I guess it's another result of current design phylosophy "green must be great at everything". 😞
@@NizzahonMagic I wanted to write "pure white", but not being native speaker and knowing that there in USA you have a lot of racial issues, maybe it could have been misinterpreted and trigger someone. I meant "a card that is ONLY white". Mantis Rider has white in the casting cost, but is Jeskai, WUR. Archangel Avacyn trasnforms in a red card. Celestial Colonnade is an Azorius creature land, WU. Just History of Benalia is purely white!

Weird timing! I've just finished building a vigilance based deck for a Tiny Leaders tournament my LGS is running on Sunday 😆

Feeling old yet?
