I put a disgusting amount of time into this game. Saw it at Gamepass so just gave it a try. Wasn't even aware of the hype about it.
Long story short, I now also own it on Steam and bought the dlc.

I got this in early access while indie devs were talking about it, before the Arcana update. The sheer amount of stuff they added and the way it all interacts together is amazing.

Great video, I've been addicted to this game, still playing it. Steam says I've played it for 148 hours by now, that's more than most AAA games in my library. There are only a few games I've played much more, such as The Binding of Isaac and the original DOS versions of DOOM and X-COM.

wtf you are casual and talking like you are gaming alot. People have 5k hours in serveral games lol, either you young or you are not playing at all. I have like 12k hours in cs 1.3 to cs:go. Around 6k in wow from 2004 till 2023, d2/d3 2.8k, path of exile 7k hours. So i think you are not gamer at all bruh

I started playing this when it showed up on Gamepass quite a while ago. Initially I dismissed it because it had zero instructions on what to do but after giving it a second try I couldn't stop playing. It consumed my life for months after that. Well deserved success for Poncle (and his crew).

I learned about this game from Oneyplays. I watch him and his crew play it and I figured I'd give it a try. It was just a few dollars at the time so I bought it. I got so addicted to it right off and couldn't walk away from it till a few months later. I've been addicted to some games before but I don't think I've been this addicted since Tetris was first released for the Commodore 64 by Mirror back in 1988. It really is a very fun game.

I have about 90 hours in it. I 100%ed everything even the DLC. The developer really nailed the gameplay. At first I was upset over all the assets he did originally steal, but they did alter or remove the majority of them. This game does bullet heaven right. (not bullet hell as people like to label it). Where you don't have to focus on pointing a mouse, you just have to well.. survive. I think what I think the dev did right the most was the pricing. Buy the game and you get it all. The DLC came out much later so I say was worth it. My favorite weapon is the bible/vespers.

I bounced off this game pretty quickly. I started getting fed up of having to wait for the chest opening animation to complete and once you get to the 26 minute mark you're completely invincible and it's just a case of watching the clock tick towards 30 minutes. Maybe I'm missing something.

They should add something like the “option” from the Gradius series. They could be added to the game in the form of survivors that you rescue while playing, sort of like the coffins. Except they immediately join you for that run. They could have their own stats, weapons and levels. Keeping them alive might be tough though.

I have no idea what makes people enjoy this game past the 2 or so hour mark. I got it, played it and after like 3 or 4 runs I don't think it's able to lose other than literally putting down the controller and letting monsters eat you.
You just pick one of the 3 or 4 guaranteed win weapons and then herd monsters appropriately. Around the 5-minute mark it's clear whether you're going to win the run or not, and then you just have to fight against boredom for 25 minutes clicking away like 20 reward screens a minute.
Does this gain any kind of depth later on?

Put in a lot of hours that I'd done everything before the DLC dropped. Then Holocure (inspired by the game except V.tubers and has quite a fair bit of changes like making characters more unique) came and got sucked into that. I'll probably pick it up again once the Switch version comes out because yes I need it handheld. Thanks for the great video!
