- Sadiq Khan has won an unprecedented third term as London Mayor, securing the second-largest victory margin in the city's history. The Labour candidate garnered 1,088,225 votes, surpassing his main rival, Tory candidate Susan Hall, by a majority of 275,828 votes.
This victory marks a historic achievement, as Mr. Khan is the first London mayor to secure a third term in office. His term will extend until 2028.
In his victory speech, Mr. Khan expressed his gratitude, calling it the "honour of my life" to serve the city. Despite a brief interruption by the defeated Britain First candidate, Khan remained humble, stating he was "beyond humbled" by the support.

It's democracy, if voters in London want Khan to be mayor, that's their right, stop whining. Traditional Conservatives don't like the fixation on immigrants and the government ignoring the economic factors that are making life difficult.
Usually, you’ll find around 30% of voters are partisan left voters and around 30% are partisan right wing voters. The rest of the voters are floating voters. You can change that a little by importing people that are more likely to vote right or left, but parties usually have to appeal to the floating voters to get elected. This is why the Conservatives have been trying to hover around the central ground like New Labour did. Immigration affects everybody in different ways including economically, but some people are unaware of any links so don’t take it as seriously as others. The voter turnout was very low in London and this usually means partisan voters are more important. In this case I suspect the Conservative candidate inspired the Conservative voters less than was needed, as was stated in the video.

It's parliaments fault. Mayors used to wear a gold chain and open a fete or two, now governments have given them the power to affect peoples lives.
Thank you. Was thinking the same lines, a mayor should represent an area, keep councils in check and ask correct questions if councils failing in their basic duties and yes, smile at the cameras and judge cake competitions.
He's a mayor in the American sense. As in head of the local authority with real power. The gold-chaining-wearing-fete-openers is an honourary position bestowed on long-serving councillors when they can be bothered to pull themselves away from their expense fiddling.

People need to be more engaged. Only 1 million voted for khan which means 5 million registered voters didn't. Prob is just shy of 4 million didn't pick anyone at all.
Ive moved my business to Wales to link it with the one there it's safer in wales the people are friendly and great places to live ive taken my staff with me as they no longer feel safe in London

The London mayor is too empowered. The voter turnout for the London mayoral election was just 40.5% and Khan got 43.8% of votes cast. So only 17.8 % of the electorate voted for him, less than 1 in 5. To me, that does not represent a proper mandate, let alone free rein to exercise sweeping powers. The system needs urgent reform so that people who behave like tyrants such as Khan (who has the audacity to claim that he acts for all Londoners notwithstanding his highly controversial and politicised agenda) are denied dictatorial powers. It is also a nonsense that the mayor represents such a sprawling and heterogeneous constituency. He is running a state within a state - I would term it a "rogue state." Also, as a constitutional safeguard, should not a limit of two consecutive terms be applied? Khan is now in his third term - he is so power-hungry and emboldened that he may seek a fourth or even a fifth term to pursue his ideologically-crazy agenda. This mayoral system is yet another piece in Blair’s legacy. God help us all.

When you have more or less an open door policy for people to come and live in this country and they have a democratic right to vote, and in this case they have the majority. The majority of people in London are from around the world on therefore this is the result! When the referendum for Brexit was completed, it was quite clear people in London think very different to the people outside London. The conclusion to this, if you are an original person from many generations, living in London, who don’t think like the rest of the people from around the world, you will have to accept the situation or move away

Sad Khan is costing London money. The poor will lose out. The dramatic increase in crime under his tenure is closing shops. The rise in Islamism is deterring tourists and will cause businesses, HQs etc. to relocate. I used to like London museums and shops. But I can only get there on a Saturday when Hamas marches take over the streets. I checked out local cities, Winchester and Salisbury and I like them. So much to see and do and no chanting terrorist supporters. My money is no longer going to London.
I’m pointing out that Khan does not have a moral mandate, of course he has a legal one, even if, say, to vividly illustrate the point, just 1 in 25 voted him in. It would be less of an issue if his modus operandi was more akin to the respected mayors, Andy Burhham and Andy Street who “just got on with the job”. Khan has created discord and anger, not only in, but also outside, London. He has also stirred up racial tensions. He’s guilty of an abuse of . power to pursue a highly politicised and personalised agenda - damaging to London and beyond. Hence, my argument that there ought to be safeguards for such misconduct and wrongdoing.
