Whenever I see comments about how "bad" Serg's voice sounds now I often wonder why he wasted it on such ungrateful "fans" for all those years. He sounded great here and I don't care what anyone else says.
He doesn't have a bad voice, but certainly some of that "aggressive" essence is out of the song
I think he’s great but his voice just doesn’t fit Toxicity, Steal This Album and Self Titled. I think people are entitled to notice the difference but not to complain and hate
I heard that one before from people that never seen them live. I saw them live in Argentina and I can attest that his voice was beautiful. I went alone to their concert (Deftones opened for them BTW) and even Chino was impressed. F**k the haters.
Watching concerts online isn't the same as being there, Putting all that together I thought he did great and he does sound much better live. You also have to be there for the experience which makes it even better. It's like listening to some hardcore music on low volume, it just isn't the same as bumping it. You have to bump it (be there) to feel the music.
It’s prolly from aging. Young people tend to be more energetic and outgoing, older people tend to be quieter and more relaxed
For those who say that Serj does not sing with love or excitement.
In 2015 Serj was 48 years old. P.L.U.C.K is 1998, when he was 29 years old. People grow old!
He decided to spare his voice during that period.
Just remembering that the concert in Armenia was the last of an intense tour! Wake up the souls was frantic.
This show, for them, was the most important of their lives! Touch their motherland.
Don't be so cruel to Serj or anybody in the band.
Corpsegrinder of Cannibal Corpse has been doing brutal death metal for almost 40 years and still screams
Serj just doesn't how to scream properlpy because screaming doessn't hurt the vocal chords if done properly
@@LordOfTheJizz yes but in the early days he did not do it safely in turn he holds it back as to not fuck up his voice further
@@the_dragonnaut Neither did Corey Taylor but he learned how to properly and screams just as badass.
🙏🙏🙏 Right! Bunch of ungrateful, ignorant, privileged, spoiled brats always want everything to be the best for them. Given those facts, these guys did more and better than 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999% of people could do. Especially those hating... I think they did awesome because I watched with an open mind and knew all that already before watching and expected them to be as good as they were.
No serj he was 31
As a descendant of a survivor from Armenia, I’m really grateful for everything SOAD has done to the genocide recognition.
Too bad the humanity did not learn anything and millions of innocent people are still being killed every single day by intolerance and quest for power.
Yall are insane....these guys are not 25 anymore lmao of they cant scream like they used to. And they will always one of MAIN reasons people know about the war. The streets of America stand with Armenia!
I mean, you can sound like George Fischer after ruining this throat with all his death vocals, or you can sound like Serj, protecting his throat and voice. It doesn't matter what Serj sounds like; he's a damn fine singer and you can't tell me otherwise.
I don't think it's that he's a bad singer now,I think it's just that his new voice isn't really made for soad anymore,if you listen to protect the land/and Genocide Humaniod and even his solo stuff his voice still sound pretty alright in those because those songs we made with his new vocals in mind while all the other soad songs were made for his old voice, and I'll be honest,I do miss the old serj voice but thats not saying his new voice is bad
@@dude6658 saw SOAD twice recently and can honestly say Serj has never sounded better. He’s brought back his screams and growls and they’re sounding solid. No one is gonna sound the same as they did 10-20 years ago sure, but Serj has adapted well with his vocals recently. He seems to have way more power and control from even just a few years ago (pre-covid)
Just look at Corey Taylor and James Hetfield. Corey is still great and James still has his power, but both took massive hits to the vocal chords because of the albums they’d try to reproduce live all the time.
@@xbmpr Corey stated he’s glad that his vocals took a major blow. In a radio interview he said he hated how high his voice was when he was 18 and 19
When i heard 'Revenga' by them in 2005, i felt like : this band is why i am living ,)
That's still my favorite soad song
@@lofer9138 same bro ;)
Mez/Hypno has to be some of John's best drumming
The fhe first thing i heard from them was revenga live in 2005
That’s amazing and Serj sounds great! The man is in his 50's, of course he won't sound like his 20's. Saw them live in Rock in Rio 2015 it was fucking awesome and one of the best days of my live
5:48 serj voice❤❤❤
Amazing
That bass on intro oh god it's so perfect
I will remember the first time listening to Chop Suey!. I will and always love your songs so much
music with passion and purpose! love you SOAD
I never thought I'd see the day where an actual fortnite player knows about soad, I knew there were some but I've never seen them till now.... I'm happy to see this comment

"WALK DOWN!!!" CARALHO!
Thank you! It's a shitty day and I need it.

shavo's killin it
Best band ever
This b the song that changes the world. Serj so talked about. He would and could speak for us.
I enjoyed this show very much. Been a fan since their first album and being in middle America of course ive never had the privilege to see them live and they played so many songs here ive never seen live before on video. Heavy.
Playing THAT fucking song in Armenia. Balls.
👍
A P.L.U.C.K. ?
there was never a recognition, revolution, nor restitution
I mean there was a revolution in 2018
Sadly not, the capitalism remains and the people doesn´t join to make a revolution

So sad, serj can't do anymore the gutural voice (metal screams) either daron btw they're still being my fav band
He can still do the screams, have you seen the 2013 and 2018 tours?
He can do it but he has said he doesn't want to anymore..to protect his voice i guess
4:26 ))
@@fedora997 I start thinking that he just dont wants to
@@vladu1913 not the same, it's pretty different. The 2000s and 90s were better
Is that Tom Morello narrating?
whoa ! i think is Tom Morello in the narration.
✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
5:00 he realized he was going to his old self on the one god here and had to check himself
serj may sound a little silly, but it fits ya know? i personally like it a lot
serj IS silly
Best soad concert in my opinion
Lowlands, 2001 before toxicity was released.... incredible concert
Best atmosphere.. but not even close to their best concerts😂
@@Artofwar3004 i was at 5 concerts of them, i just love them😍 but this was the best one i've ever seen.
@@captainvaughn5692 i was talking about Armenia 2015...
Lowland was an insane concert😍
Whiskey a go go for me
Fucking awesome
😍😍😍
YOU GO GRADPA
❤❤
Even though I wish Serj could screech like the mad banshee he is, I understand wanting to spare his voice for where a scream could have the most impact (i.e. the final “DOWN” leading to the next verse).
❤💙🧡
🤘🏽aloha🤙🏽
Is Tom Morello the guy who gives the voice over in the beginning?
Was the bit at the end the Armenian anthem?
Nope! It was a folk song about the battle at Sardarapát, I really recommend reading a little bit about it, it is a fairly interesting topic.
We love soad
This for sure was the best night of Armenia!
serj seems not serious doin this anymore.
He made his fortune, sold his own self to the very people he despised.
@@bv3365 I just saw someone say this same thing on tik tok about this performance, what do you guys mean???
@@bv3365 like who
@@bv3365 ???
If you ever saw their Lowlands performances, he was never serious from the start
Song starts at 2:38
He's legit holding back his voice idk why
it's called getting old.. dude still kills it
It was a 2 1/2 hour show, it’s called pacing yourself
*MR. PEANUTBUTTTAAAAAAH*
he had an intervention in this throat, he didn't learn right screaming techniques, so now he ruined his vocal cords and he's trying to protect his voice.
Hes not 25 anymore bro. Hes protecting his voice
Pause for young Daron at 5:36 🙅♂️🙅♂️

Bro the fact that serj’s voice is so nasal and annoying yet so beautiful and harmonic is the pure greatness of this band

Welcome to System of a Down buddy
Serj sounds like someone doing a bad karaoke cover of serj
sometimes I think it's better they don't make a new album. Serj's lost it.
I mean he's in his 50's and aint young no more. Give him credit for atleast playing sets for people
He's singing like squidward intentionally which is frustrating because people pay to hear you do a show well. Listen to him singing Rains of Castamere, he can still sing like he used to, he's just protecting his voice here.
just gonna ignore this: 3:25 ?
Serj is onto other things. He doesn't want to scream all his life.
1. This is from 2015.
2.The man still accomplishes miracles for his age
3.I think its better they dont make a new album because theyve split ways already and theyve all made awesome solo stuff , definetly not because theyve lost it.
First
Por qué la cagan tanto en vivo,no ensayan o qué??🤦🤘
It's not opera Serj
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Are you sure you're not Jews?
Huh, I lost brain cells reading this.
Allah akbar
There Armenian?
@@the_dragonnaut *They're
...well, the histories of Jews and Armenians are a tad bit similar, when it comes to certain historical events, but what the hell does that have to do with anything?
One of the weakest SOAD perfmormances I've heard
No one cares about history, just play the damn song.
The entire point of a lot of their songs is to bring eyes to unseen and unspoken issues
Do you know the history of Armenian Genocide? The reason why they played this concert was the 100th year after the genocide
You're either Turkish or stupid. Or both
you are not a real fan if you seriously think that
@@lutymcshooty2556 as a turk, ı agreed
If you're gunna do something be sure it has purpose. That's what i think when I listen to S.o.a.d songs. I may not always agree with the message. But they have meaning.
