Hi Noberis, many thanks for a very well informed video on retirement destinations in the DR. I will be visiting next month and hope to meet up with you at that time. Best regards to you, your husband and daughter.
Another great video. Thanks so much for sharing. As a retiree Im looking to retire to DR. and would like to see a video, if possible, on activities in the cities you mention. Muchas gracias.
SS is not forfeited you do not lose your benefits. As a matter of fact you can have your benefits deposited into a DR bank if you so desire. I know many family/friends that live inDR and receive their SS benefits. You do however need to communicate you are moving abroad to the SSA.
Thanks for the video. Been in Boca Chica since Aug 2020 and I have set a date to move to La Romana in March 2025. I'm very comfortable where I live, but I know that there a places 100 times better than where I am.
Awsome video. I love to breakdown of the different locations. I loved that you identified the most expensive item for each which is housing. Information is powerful. Thank you very much.
Sis If they didn’t know; they know now. You give them a base figure and a starting point. Now people don’t just say ok $1500 a month. Instead strive for $1800 - $2000 each month. A very informative video Norberis. 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Very nice info looking to retire & save on a fixed income, but ppl in the States pay that much and more the cost of living is steadily rising, here and abroad though Dominican Republic is beautiful the reality is it's forcing travelers a shorter stay!
I really like Santo Domingo, but living there permanently would be too stressful for me. Puerto Plata certainly has its charm, but there are nicer places. Sosua forever? God forbid, impossible at the time, the nest would first have to be rid of a series of human civil failures. Maybe something will change after the construction work. For this to happen, mass prostitution would not necessarily have to disappear there, but the permanent presence and visibility of prostitution would have to. Cabarete is good for a few weeks, maybe months. Sometimes I long for the Juan Dolio of the 90s. I would also like Las Terrenas as a location, but also other places on Samaná. Las Galeras is also conceivable with a few mobile compromises. Barahona is also definitely interesting, and above all, the place has a future. For permanent living in a city, Santiago is my favorite. I love this city with all its advantages and disadvantages.
I agree with it all except , the part about Punta Cana, i thiink this part of the country has been ruined by all these huge resorts and I have found it to be the most expensive place on the whole island@@NorberisR
Punta Cana is the number one place to be - forget about jarabacoa , Santiago , Santo Domingo - I won’t spend a dime there - the number 1 destination () punta Cana - say no more please
@@NorberisR it is not my opinion 90 percent of tourists come to punta Cana DR ,✌️😂, it seems to me you have preferences - you also have the right to an opinion and you are entitled to it …..
@@CarlosRamirez-vo1jt I know its the number 1 destination for vacationers, I made a video about it so I know. Vacationing and retiring is 2 different things. This video is about retiring not resort vacations. And for some Punta Cana isn't the best place to retire, no matter how you feel about it. There are retirees all over the island and why they didn't choose Punta Cana is because other places offered what they wanted. This ihas nothing to do with my preference, where a person reitres is their choice. This video just offers options.
I love Santiago, I bought a house en la Española detrás del banco central, it’s a beautiful place siempre voy de vacaciones todos los años but when you have to go out you have to take care of yourself because anything can happen specially if you wearing jewelry, nice car, or an expensive bag..P.S. La delincuencia en ese país está en todo partes something I don’t like, it’s you’re living in a jail hierro por todas partes para que no te roben…Así como es un país hermosos por sus playas, resorts lugares también está la otra partes fea…Una delincuencia total que casi nadie menciona 😢😢😢😢NYC
Is the neighborhood bad where you bought that house? We live in Santo Domingo and don't feel that way. I walk with my jewelry on and my bag. There areas where I don't do it but I don't feel as if I'm living in a jail.
@@NorberisR you guys made great presentation that would be helpful to people who are looking for that kind of good change, I have never bad experiences but I see it in social media… I saw lots of new developments when I visited last year that people will love!!!!!!

Your finances. If your finances are good everything else is easy.

The avg cost of living in Bayahibe is less than $1500 but that's just a guess.
I've been to all but Luperon. Where is it located and what is it known for?
It's located west of Puerto Plata city but in the Puerto Plata province. It's a small tourist town on the water.

How old do you have to be to move to DR?😅
Lol I’m saying I can’t get retirement funds to be able to live over there

$1500 is not a lot of money to cover everything for a month.
Social Security should be forefeitted if you Expat. Your SS is calculated based on standard of living costs within the USA. Thats bs.

From my understanding Americans pay into the SS system so it their money. It's not like it's free money.
Americo u sure about that?
