Damm, i'm glad that you found out that resistance bug, i also have 004a version and indeed it does the same thing, when the out is turned off it goes almost short circuit!!! This can be really disastrous for the d.u.t. or the tester itself. When i turn on mine it does not show anything where your says "V3.0". In lower values of mA or mV it is very unstable and non linear, and closer to zero it doesn't even output nothing which for me is a big deal... Typical fnirsi quality 😒😩😤. I'm also glad that you true and genuine about the products and expose their issues 👍
Thanks, yes the mV below 10 mV are just in specs, while above 10mV it spot on, i had no problems with lower mA. yes the Ohms bug is tricky. my LB02A on Ohms, switches directly to 20 Ohms, the lowest too and i can not switch on/off so maybe that is maybe same problem but there its more clear because the display just says 20 Ohms too.
Maybe FNIRSI can workaround by just having the Oms always on, then at least its correct with whats on the display.
Дякую.Хороший огляд приладу.Буду собі купувати
Thank you!
Слухай, я ось думаю взяти lb02a чи цей... Що скажеш?
LB02A is the better one, see also my last dmmcheckplus video, it appears also there
@@TonyAlbus okay, thanks a lot!)
They are robust little units with lots of functionality built into them. My SG003A and SG004A show quite a bit of drift over time and loose their calibration. I got the MR9270S as well and that is much more stable although has its own quirky operation. The MR9270S doesn't have the issue with the ohms function that you showed.
Thanks for the information, you are the second in the comments who brings up the MR9270S, interesting.
@@TonyAlbus They are quite a good unit, but a little bit more expensive than the Fnirsi units. Loads of videos regarding them on UA-cam. There are some comparison videos on my channel along with the testing of the Fnirsi units I did.
@@three-phase562 Nice, i subbed... keep it up!
Thanks Tony for this test, another gadget I need 😢 One question, I‘m not sure that I missed the information in your video but is it possible to calibrate the yellow one also?
Thanks, Yes i mention it quickly in the video its indeed possible on the yellow SG-004A too.
It's actually cheap for the accuracy, as others, with a 0.05% accuracy and a simple LCD display, from China, run about $300+.
Yes but you need the SG004A, and its nice with mV and Ohms.
You would think that they would have called the newer version the SG-003B instead, I wonder if I should try and get a SG-004A from FNIRSI to review also and test.
Yeps agree on that, i have received messages people have already bricked their old SG003A with the new firmware, and the old firmware they do not provide, not even trough my sales contact.
Parabéns . ......
Thank you!
Looks to have ~372uV calibration steps on the newer 003A
but it also has a bandwith it corrects itself within, of more or less that same value.. i have added a little timelaps in this video about that too.
Don't need one but will order the model 4 anyway. Nerds are nerds.
I also though that i didn't needed one, but after having it i'm using it all the time, if you do electronics it will be very useful.
Its a nice to have for quick verification of your repair
It'd be very interesting to see how these could be calibrated.
thats in the video
Thanks for the video. I have a SG-004A
But today i did se a MR9271PRO with Hart support.
Did you also tested that one yet or maybe going to test that one? I think it is a new version of the MR9270+
Thanks
Thanks, i do not know to much about Hart and MODBUS to be honest. i did see it in the specs. i know a better versio of my LB02A , the LB06A also has Hart, but i don't have the LB06A and i would not know how to test it. it was at least 30~35 years ago i worked on a PLC. then is was mostly on/off inputs.
@@TonyAlbus Thank you for the reaction. We do also use not a lot of HART devices and sometimes we have to replace them and buy another one from the supplier.
So if we can read out the device we maybe can see what is wrong.
If you have no HART device it is not possible to test of course.
Great video.
Thank you!
Fajne ... Pozdrawiam
Thanks!
I bricked my old-style SG-003A with that wrong firmware. :) I have the new version now and it's working well so far, maybe just 'calibrate' it some day to get that little more accuracy on the mA range.
Fnirsi does not want to provide the firmware for the old model sadly. .yes calibration for that last digit sound good
They are not using standard modbus serial functions codes
Thanks, i did not know, i an not into MODBUS and Hart to be honest, 30 years ago i played with PLC it was not there yet i think.. and my old OMRON sequence controller only does on/off i/o :)
no teardown!? REALLYYY
my hands-on usually have not, becouse it’s borrowed or not and warranty.
24mA don't you mean 20mA?
Most of these process calibrators go up to 24 mA
