Hi! I came across this song 2 days ago. Loved it but had no clue what the guy was singing about. Now I know! Adult lyrics…Thank you so much. You would make a very good teacher. More Yoruba language to the world!
You know the funny thing is I have heard this song over a hundred times but It never occurred to me that it’s an adult themed song ooo. I just sing and vibe and vibe along. I’m Yoruba, living in Nigeria and my cousin and a couple friends were even in the music video 😂. I need to pay more attention to details lol
@@oyesileseun6168 🤣 okay I try to leave room for other translations (because I am incorrect at times) but yeah im pretty sure it’s adult themed lol that sultana line is one of my most controversial lines like in my real life. Either people gasp in shock or they tell me there is no way it means that lol…but I’m the same with songs in that I just vibe usually until I specifically look into and study the lyrics.
Wow! You're my new favorite UA-camr! I've been in love with afrobeats since 2014. So much so, that I have my own channel where I react to Afrobeats music. However, I never know the meaning of the lyrics, I just vibe and let the music resonate with my soul. Your channel is exactly what I've been asking for! I pray that you grow to have millions of subscribers and recognition from all of the top Afrobeats artists. You are seriously doing amazing work! Thank you.
One of my friends told me right after she watched this video that yup it means “my friend” and also taught me that it’s very common for Akure people (from Ondo state). I sent her your comment lol thank youuu!
You know, I’ve never thought about that but I can see what you’re saying! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the compliment. Just here trying lol and I love all inputs ☺️
Little correction. Eji in Yoruba means gap tooth. Malaika means angel. What Asake was trying to do is to describe the beauty of the lady. Simply put he is trying to say gap tooth angel where is my sultana? If you watch the video you will see that the girl in her video has a gap tooth. Just wanted to put that out.
Hi, I believe it’s a lot of slang he uses on that part to flow with the overall meaning of the song. Try google searching “sultana white garment” in case that’s the part you do not understand.
As Jamaican I want to say a big thanks for your explanation 🔥👍🏾❤. I love this song so much❤❤❤.
Much love to Jamaica🤎!! My pleasure ☺️

There is no denying that the song is adult themed. To think I couldn’t even deduce that sutana meant something else 😂. I’m such a saint
