- The London Transport Museum in Covent Garden is well known, but it also has a working museum depot that opens just a couple of times a year down at Acton Town - we went along on one of its open days to see what was there!

Wow, the transport museum is beautiful!🤩🤩 Some of the old trains, I miss them in the 1890s! 🥲
That is so nice one Geoff Marshall :)
I have visited the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden in 2004, 2008 and 2012. I enjoyed my visit each time, and really recommend it to anyone going to London!
I've been to the Depot a few times for their opening days, such a lovely array of stock, buses etc, it's a joy to stroll round.
This was the best 8-minute-"holiday" I had recently... Thanks...
The Acton Depot makes Covent Garden's transport museum look poorly equipped. Wow, amazing!
I went a couple of years back. You do need most of the day.A fantastic museum if your a LT geek like myself.
0:49 I spotted Ongar and Aldwych sign
There’s more trains now there’s a A60 stock DM 5034 and C77 DM 5721 bc in 2011 they were still in service.
Having just joined the Miniature Railway, I am aware that the next one is on the 10th and 11th March 2012. Looking forward to it. When I started, we went in the Depot to get some stock. The depot looks great, I only saw a small bit!

At 4:54, is that a mock-up of a tram proposed to run across the city, that then got scrapped?

It's a depot, not the main museum. I wish, really, it would be open more often! Sorry for the answer 2 years late lol 😂

So they made the RTW 6" wider than an RT and the police weren't happy. Curious to know how wide are Londons buses nowadays.
Ian Rix: According to Wikipedia, the 'New Routemaster' is 8 ft 3¼ in wide. The heritage Routemasters were all 8 ft.
@@peterdean8009 Thanks for that Peter. It's almost like they split the difference between the two for the new routemasters.
I would want to go to that museum
This exhibition is open the weekend after next, the 6th and 7th of October.

Hello I have to do class.
pretty superficial coverage of this interesting place.
Only in Britain would a great museum be closed most of the year. Ridiculous.
