He was too good for the audience. They completely missed his beginning. And his brilliant end was met with polite applause. Michael, even though everything you did went over their heads, We appreciate the mastery you showed. Very well done, Sir!
I always thought the Magic Castle was filled with people too posh to act a fool when they see a “magic” trick. Being impressed doesn’t require any noise making until the end when you politely clap. These people are use to attending recitals and operas where you hold the applause till after the performance.
I agree with the sentiment. It was a much better performance than the audience indicated, but, as some others have mentioned, you have to understand the venue. At least some portion of this crowd probably knew exactly how most of it was done, so wouldn't have been astonished. They no doubt, and no less, certainly appreciated the skill involved in performing it so well. I have personally gotten some really excited responses out of random people, and I would love to think that one day I could perform well enough to get that response from that crowd. Look @12:27 at the look on the guy on the left. That is better than astonishment. That is true appreciation.
To argue the other side, he's also very dry and very fast... The pace of his performance is as id he's performing to magicians but his presentation is like he's performing a brick wall
Holy shit! Michael, you're a wizard! And the presentation is awesome, the stuff about Canada Bill and factorial, no other magic castle experience like this one!
I think Michael Vincent is fantastic! I used to be a member of the Magic Castle. I was a very young man I and saw Michael Vincent in the Close Up Gallery. It was beautiful. Classy and a highly talented man.
I come back to this video every now and then. Still amazes me each time. Also, the way you weave humor into your act in a way that lifts up the participants is wonderful. So many entertainers put down audience members in order to make a joke, but you elevate the experience when you interact with people. Lifts me up as well just watching. Thanks for doing that.
@@Wysewolfit's called alcohol...but i've been there before and the rooms are small and when someone does something impressive, you're usually just stunned and don't clap enthusiastically cause your brain is just thinking wtf...!?
People in the crowd were well aware of how good Michael is, they were just so astonished that they got caught up in the moment and when that happens you don't wanna clap, you just wanna watch more and more and be amazed everytime again. That's what I'm thinking, big up!
Yes, he is exceptionally smooth. Really in a league of his own when it comes to smoothness, grace, and elegance. I’ve never seen anyone quite come close to capturing it. The way his hands move. It makes me wonder how he achieves it. If it was just inborn or purposefully cultivated…? Regardless, it’s magnificent and he’s such a humble guy.
IMHO the problem is his constant talking without proper engagement or expression. He's not giving people time to think. Still, what do I know,. He's obviously a master of his craft.

He is a master of the craft. The best slight of hand i have ever seen. His character makes it even better. He does those moves subconcious while talking about his life or something he saw the other day. Brilliant, simply fantastic.
Imo there is no other magi “as our” Michael Vincent who delivers magic in this style as well in the world. I’ve been doing card magic for nearly 40 years and actually was lucky enough to see MV in my early years all those years ago and at that point I new he was the next level. I’ve watched this performance many times simply outstanding.
The closeup room at the Magic Castle is incredible. The magicians who can do this are the best. They have the closeup room the mid size room and the main stage. A friend of mine is a member and gave us passes several times. I love that place.
I want to first say, that comedy magic is probably one of the most entertaining genres for lay audiences. That being said, I prefer this more serious, classic genre of magic that Michael does so well; Ed Kwon does a very nice job with this genre as well. I think this audience was looking more for a stand up comedy show but what they received was a masterful magic show and I just don't think they understood. I'm just glad it was filmed, because I loved it. Thanks Michael!!
This guy is beyond magic, entertainment, and class. He's taken something that most people think of as children's entertainment, into a masterpiece of art and class. Unreal.
Michael Vincent is pure gold. I have become a fan ever since his sterling performance on Fool Us. Thank you for sharing this treasure of an act. I can only imagine how many decades of dedication it takes to make something so difficult seem so effortless.
Bro that's what I was thinking. Were those double card lifts and then like 2nd hand deals??? That's the only thing that makes sense to me. When I watched it at first I was completely in shock, and I've been studying a lot of sleight of hand stuff lately
SD gfx I dunno what "KM moves" are but I know he was doing double lifts and 2nd hand dealing. He never finds the blue card because those were the red cards he was showing all along. The shuffle was false/controlled as well. I dunno if that was your question but thats how he does the finale.
When he initially inserts the red cards back in the deck they are controlled to the bottom. He palms with his left hand and puts them on the bottom of the blue deck once he takes control of it. False shuffles and false cuts, he double lifts and places face up on the table.

This man is truly brilliant. Even at 30 yrs old his magic gives me the sense of amazement like when I was a child. This man should be more well known. I shouldn’t have just now discovered him.
One of my fav magicians. High level technical skills (some of the cleanest sleight of hand) with an entertaining act. There's nothing wrong with a lot of magicians going for the comedy act, or the raunchy stuff, but this hits the spot for me. Things never get awkward and everything seamlessly progresses... another great upload.
Fabulous thanks brother 🙏 performed at the castle myself as a youth on a Sunday back round 1982. Had lunch with Max Maven and Tom Ogden there in 1987!! Great memories! Love your act!!
You Sir are the Godfather of sleigh of hand, thought I was pretty good but that was super impressive, genius in creation, very enjoyable in speaking and acting, soooo darn good in art and technique, I was blown away and beeing a child for almost 25 minutes! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing performance with us! ♥♥♥
Mr Vincent, I just want to thank you. You inspired me to learn magic and aspire to eventually create and perform beautiful pieces like you always do. I love your style and even though I'm still in my first year and despite my late entry into this skill being 22 years old, because of you my life has changed. For that I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
The audience understands how good he is, it's important for UA-camrs to know it's a very small and intimate room that they're in and it's the best for these mechanics. Had a chance to see Richard Turner there, hope I get to see you, Michael! Awesome performance!
He is more than a great sleight of hand artist, he is an entertainer, without giving away secrets, he masters misdirection and not only does he know the moves, he knows the right moment which makes him greater than great.
I don't think the audience understands how good he is. The intro alone with the 3-card Monty before he even started and the cards were changing.. Sick
I noticed that I was like look at this guy just casually flexing his slights brilliant man

They were probably racist

Mike Vincent has quickly become my favorite magician. His act is classy and his magic is super clean. His talent is without parallel
Every time Michael Vincent performs, I just can't stop smiling. Such class and skill - gets me every time

Michael Vincent is the best of the best. And it’s not even really close.
When he changed the queens in the beginning the people didn't even recognize it. He changed them 4 times and they didn't see it.
