My Top 5 are: 1. Primal - My favorite spectacle from my favorite creator on FULL SHOW, DO NOT TELL all the way through. I'm looking forward to see what Season 2 brings on the table. 2. Keep Your Hands Off! Eizouken - The only anime series of 2020 that western animation couldn't make a single dedicated episode solely on making animation as. This is make artistic process the anime with smart and effective work. A powerful reminder of why we like anime so much. 3. The Midnight Gospel - It's actually animated podcast bits the show that might be a huge gold mine of animated moments that I really like. 4. Helluva Boss - Became a fan on episode 2 that finally improves itself and more to come this new year. 5. Pokemon Journeys Episode 46 - This is the only episode that I was waiting for a very long time for this character to finally show up in the anime and wondering how is going to fit in the main arc.
I'm not trying to be a stickler I'm trying to use this as a teaching moment since you don't know. The term is curve ball because the curveball is a pitch type that is really hard to judge where exactly it's going to cross the plate and where exactly it'll be once it gets to the batter in baseball. The other thing is that it's really hard to perform an even harder to master so coming across a good curveball thrower is hit and miss so it's typically a throw most batters will get a strike on. The only detriment is that the curve ball thrown by the pitcher usually has to be thrown in a way that if it's done wrong could tear muscles quite easily. At least this is what I remember from learning about this pitch. So basically curveball=unexpected or out of nowhere. I like the the video. I'm going to have to catch up on some of these cartoons LOL happy New Year Saber!
I watched Regular Show this year. I loved it, for all the shows I saw it's the best consistent, story, & fun I've experienced. THanks for another video Saber & happy new year eveyrone
I struggle with existential dread as well, and I lost my father recently. Midnight Gospel reminded me of him and it was really hard to watch sometimes, and when you watch it, you will understand why. That being said, I’m so glad I did watch the show, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope you’re doing well Saber
Owl House is amazing. It hit me really and came in this time of JK Rowling making a tool of herself so I needed that magical thing that would replace Harry Potter for me.
Baseball lingo: “curve ball” Also, getting hit in the head by a pitch is “beaned,” for future reference. Always good for a laugh, that one. (Just don’t say “beamed”. That’s from Star Trek.)
Dude. I also can't get through The Midnight Gospel for the exact same reason. Even though it seems really good and I totally respect everything about it, it's just not something I can really handle at this point in my life.

I have... strong opinions about siege, to the point where I'm extremely hesitant to watch the new installment. While I am glad lots of people liked it enough to look into more of the franchise, it felt like there could have been so, SO much more that they just didn't do with the story, characters, and dialogue (not voice-acting, the actors just seemed poorly directed since there was actual talent and effort in parts). Though I do have slight respect for what they did with Ultra Magnus. Wasn't expecting that lol
I watched Midnight Gospel over the summer and I can't think about it without sobbing. I'm SO glad you brought that show up as an honorable mention because it honestly feels like it changed my life. It makes me think more about myself and the importance of life, which I feel isn't super common for my surrounding peers. Very few of my friends watched it (I think maybe 1 or 2) and my family never really liked it to the point they refused to finish it with me, so seeing you mention it gives me hope that more people will see it and hopefully gain something from it. That episode of Primal with the zombie dinosaur gave me the creeps big time. Usually I’m bored of zombies cause they’re just everywhere now and it’s always the same formula, but with this one it seemed less like it was hungry and more just wanting to murder everything in its path. Fuckin scary.
I watched the entirety of Midnight Gospel while high and it changed my life. It changed my perspective on death and the time we have so much. The peace I felt after finishing was unlike anything I have ever watched, and I have been completely sober ever since :) So yeah, recommend
Hey Saber, I know that I’m a bit late to the party but I just wanted to recommend a show to you that is my personal favourite show. It is a show on Netflix called aggretsuko and I think that it’s very good and has really great messages about work and growing up and dating and finding what makes you happy and all that kind of stuff. You may have seen it advertised on Netflix before and so if you have not checked it out I would 100% recommend. The animation is a bit to get used to but personally the story’s is what makes it enjoyable.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INCLUDING PRIMAL! It is an amazing show, and it’s so under appreciated! No one talks about it!! The animation, the designs and the storytelling are absolute gold, and it makes me so happy to see someone else enjoying the show!
I think The Midnight Gospel was really, really good. Deep topics aside, I think it did amazingly with how it portrayed interesting sci-fi/worldbuilding concepts through visuals alone, without ever even paying mind to them in the dialogue. I love that kinds stuff.
I quite liked Blood of Zeus, though I'll admit some of the episodes did drag a bit. The two creators are Greek-American too (with a surname like Parlapanides it's pretty obvious!) if that helps lend some cultural authenticity. To me it felt like a gore filled grown-up version of a saturday morning action cartoon.
I'm a bit of a mythology geek, so I might be biased, but it was pretty good, even if yeah there were times where it felt like they didn't need to prolong the story with Heron, but they also felt like the telegraphing for Seraphim and the spoilers there was a bit obvious. And the last episode made me almost think they were just rushing to some kind of end with all the stuff that suddenly happened, but then the post credits sequence had me excited for more
Hey, Saberspark, here's a crazy short animation for you: "Eveready Harton in Buried Treasure" from 1929. Just imagine typical 1920s/1930s rubber hose cartoon characters doing the most wildly inappropriate things you can imagine. You might think it's not that bad, considering how old it is, but I assure you, it is. And it has a pretty interesting backstory with unclear details. Apparently, some of the top animators of the day contributed to it and had a private viewing. You definitely can't do a video about it on UA-cam (or at least you couldn't use any of the footage), but for someone so passionate about animation as you, I'm sure you'd get a kick out of it. You can find it online, but definitely not on UA-cam. It's on the Internet Archive though. Seriously, you HAVE to watch it.

Seems like it right now, I'm not calling it till after the first hazbin hotel episode is released. We've got 3 episodes for helluva boss compared to 1 for hazbin hotel
At first I thought Hazbin was a shoe-in for the better of the two shows, but episode 3 of Helluva was so good and Hazbin being locked to just the Pride Ring makes me think it's got a shot
Helluva far and away wins as an overall show, but I definitely love the VA cast of hazbin more. Hopefully most of those VA's find themselves in helluva as well
I'm surprised that he didn't put Castlevania in the Honorable Mention. Me and my family love that show
I haven't seen that show yet, but I love the games....even though I only have 6 of them.
And I don't have Netflix (because I think it's kind of a waste of my cash-) but the show looks really good and I might watch it later in the future...
@@LemonnNote Only 6 of them? I know it’s a massive franchise but a lot of games don’t even have 6 sequels
@@OnlyEpicEmber yeah i own like 12 games by now my favourite series is the handheld ones tho.
aria of sorrow and dawn of sorrow the most cuz it helped me through some shit. but ecclesia is the most beautifull. and can we consider bloodstained a true castlevania? if so. thats another 3 games i own.
" a lot of hell things recently "
We're just preparing ourselves for our future.
Knowing Saberspark is 32 too makes me happy. I have a horrid migraine and your voice is just super relaxing to listen to when I’m sick. Have a great day.
Im so glad Primal was included. Its just so visually beautiful and the moments of silence are so powerful
I was really hoping Infinity Train was gonna be #1, you gotta finish that Saber!!
Midnight Gospel was such a good show. The last ep made me sad and uncomfortable so that's fun
I'm gonna finish it. Think I ended on episode 8 or so.
its so good, probably one of my favorites
@@DreamComeToLife I watched the whole first season of it, and I cried so hard. The last episode hit like a truck.
I held off watching the final episode for a while since spoilers:
....................
...............................
I knew it had to do with the death of the main character's(can't remember the guys real name) mother. I believe she passed away a couple weeks after the original airing of the podcast too. I didn't cry as badly as I thought I would. Plus I lost my dad to cancer, so I could relate to the experience of losing a parent to cancer and being able to eventually accept that loss.
My mom died unexpectedly a week after I watched MG and that episode made it easier to cope with for me.
no Infinity Train? Book 3 was def one of the best ive seen in 2020 imo
My Top 5 are:
Kipo and Helluva are like my favorite shows 😌
I'm not trying to be a stickler I'm trying to use this as a teaching moment since you don't know.
Why was Hilda not there? That was a great show in my opinion.
I don't think he's seen it yet. He'd probably pronounce her name as, "Helga" or something.
Also BNA
@@user-gf5lq2pe3q Yeah, but season 2 came out in 2020.
@@user-gf5lq2pe3q Season 2 just dropped a few weeks ago.
My number 1 is BEASTARS.
I've watched that like six times in one year
not as much as Hilda
Yeah I'm surprised he didn't even give it an honerable mention.
I struggle with existential dread as well, and I lost my father recently. Midnight Gospel reminded me of him and it was really hard to watch sometimes, and when you watch it, you will understand why. That being said, I’m so glad I did watch the show, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope you’re doing well Saber
thats crazy
I hope one day you're able to see The Midnight Gospel when you're in a better place for it
Midnight gospel is a must watch, very inspirational, poetic and full of creativity, a real gem, loved it 👌🏻
Owl House is amazing. It hit me really and came in this time of JK Rowling making a tool of herself so I needed that magical thing that would replace Harry Potter for me.
Yes! My favorite character is Owlbert!
Isnt that show just Tumblr bait?
@@daskampffredchen Since the first season is the only one that is we can't be sure
But hopefully it isnt

Baseball lingo: “curve ball”
Also, getting hit in the head by a pitch is “beaned,” for future reference. Always good for a laugh, that one. (Just don’t say “beamed”. That’s from Star Trek.)
Beam me up Scotty
I got a HBO Max commercial while you're discussing "Close Enough."
I'm so happy Helluva Boss is on here. I love all things Vivziepop!
She does such an amazing job with everything!
Mexican me’s eye is twitching at the mispronunciation of Luz
Brazilian mine too :P
It's on purpose
Jajajajajaja
The fact that it's on purpose makes it so much more irksome.
i used to be like that too but not anymore.
now it make me twitch everytime i hear it being mispronunciation like it.
Dude. I also can't get through The Midnight Gospel for the exact same reason. Even though it seems really good and I totally respect everything about it, it's just not something I can really handle at this point in my life.
Could you do a review of hilda From Netflix it is one of the best animated series's I've watched in my opinion and I believe it could be enjoyed by others as well
Midnight gospel is a great journey through existentialism and ends with coming to peace with it. It’s also much more than that. Worth giving a watch.
Owl House and Bojack were my favorites.
I can't believe BoJack was released in 2020. Feels like it's been 3 years since the finale
@@eriklamela4321 Ikr??
For close enough I love how they keep the style from regular show.
I'm a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre to. One of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons was Thundarr The Barbarian.
This is a great video!! I have so many recommended cartoons to watch now, especially Close Enough. I was surprised to see Castlevania Season 3 wasn't on this list!
As soon as I heard you say primal I was just so happy seeing that someone else watched such a magnificent piece of art
It was definitely one helluva of a year....
2020 definitely hazbin rough
Absolutely
Hey Saberspark, have you seen Netflix’s Transformers WFC Siege and Earthrise? If so, what is your opinion?
I haven't watched earthrise but siege is so fucking good
I have a big... BIG... BIIIIGGGGG... muscles!!! HAHAHA!!! What did you think I was going for? That's so DIRTY of you! GAGAGAGA!!! I am the funniest UA-camr ever! Maybe that's the reason why I have TWO (!!!) HOT (!) GIRLFRIENDS. Thanks for being alive, dear comm
@@AxxLAfriku wtf
Siege sucked ass. Earthrise was an improvement. I hope Kingdom is great
I have... strong opinions about siege, to the point where I'm extremely hesitant to watch the new installment.
Helluva boss definitely deserved it's spot on this list.
I love how Primal has that comic book style to it and that every frame looks like a panel from a comic book.
Thank you!
Hey Saber, what are your thoughts on Carmen Sandiego?
I love that show!
Don't know if this counts but Season 2 of Hilda was great.
wait a second did you say WAS?
@@filipfilip1507 It definitely was. Because it was watched. Past tense.
9:46 Mickey Didn't die that night with the gun to his head in the cupboard, he died the day in 'Nam when he was forced to choose his country over his friend
Glad youve been sober, friendo! Midnight gospel sounds like a good show that may help my anxiety so i might give it a watch at a later date
Saberspark: mentions Blood of Zeus
Me: (sad Castlevania noises)
Maybe for next season?
2020 may have been a awful year, but we did get some good shows and movies.

I was hoping The Midnight Gospel to be at second or first, that last chapter is amazing and I hope to see your review when you feel ready
Primal season 2, Spear goes on a quest to rescue Mira his soon to be third wife.
Primal is definitely one of the best shows ever made, it’s hard to describe why it’s so amazing it’s just something that has to be experienced
Saberspark: *says hellava boss
Me: *press like so fast it dosent register the first time*
I came here just for that.
the zombie episode of PRIMAL OMG! that was insane! - great series heres hoping for a season 2
THANK YOU!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INCLUDING PRIMAL! It is an amazing show, and it’s so under appreciated! No one talks about it!! The animation, the designs and the storytelling are absolute gold, and it makes me so happy to see someone else enjoying the show!
it isn't in the number one spot
but close enough
Unable to locate the funny📡
I swear if you dont or haven't already talked about children of the sea I'll cry😂
The fact that Infinity Train Books 2 and 3 weren't even mentioned on this list is both shocking and honestly sorely disappointing.
They released more Primal episodes?!
FUCK YEAH!! I love Genndy Tartakovsky. Guess i know what I'm doing tonight.
I think The Midnight Gospel was really, really good. Deep topics aside, I think it did amazingly with how it portrayed interesting sci-fi/worldbuilding concepts through visuals alone, without ever even paying mind to them in the dialogue. I love that kinds stuff.
Owl house was so freaking good it was my favorite cartoon of the year
i was sure the midnight gospel is gonna be on first place. welp
Yay! So glad 'Close Enough' was on here! I loved it! The crude scenes/jokes weren't my thing, but the rest was hilarious, unexpectedly so!
I love Close Enough
