    *UPDATE* This video was made before the major PvP patch. Post patch, I would keep the NGI, Santai, VP20C and VE20C on the list still, but I would replace VP20D with Hokushi. With the way speed is reworked, VP20D isn't as useful anymore, and now Hokushi is a great alternative to VP20C depending on your AC's needs.
    I realized I misspoke about pairing VP20D with cores that had good 'capacity multiplier.' I meant to say cores that have good booster efficiency multiplier.
    A lot of people are recommending the Hokushi generator, and it is very good. I'd put it just outside of these 5. I just don't find it as easy to fit on an AC as the VP20C, which is lighter and doesn't punish you as hard for genbusting.

    I went for the AORTA Coral Generator, as it's basically a Coral version of the VP-20C. Essentially just a weaker yet lighter NGI-000 for builds that can't quite use the larger Coral Generator.

    For me, my most used generator is easily the Ming-Tang, I don't know why I don't see people talking about it. It has incredibly good stats all around and I tend to use it in my lightweight builds since the San-Tai weighs like 10k. The Ming-Tang in a Nacht lightweight really makes you feel like you're playing 4th gen again with how fast you can be and how good the energy economy is.

    I highly recommend hokushi generator. It's stats may not look impressive compared to san-tai but thanks to it's higher EN output than san-tai a lot builds can reach very high EN supply efficiency stat, allowing then to instantly regenerate their whole supply. Thanks to it's low weight hokushi generator can find it's place in extremely light builds. It is light enough that even gridwalker booster will not suffer from ideal weight debuff, making hokushi a viable choice in builds below 60000 weight. Thanks to hokushi's potential to reach high EN supply efficiency it can also become a great choice for builds that want to stay for a long time in the air but do not want to use the coral generators.
    Though this generator is not without it's downsides, it's supply recovery is pitiful, so much so that running out in the middle of the fight means death. Also because it is combustion generator it is not recommended to be used with energy weapons as it has 70 energy specialization. It's EN recharge is also worse than san-tai making it much harder to use.
    Overall this generator is a great choice for extreme light builds or builds that require high EN output but do not want to use electric or coral generators because of their bad EN recharge. It is hard to use but it rewards player skill greatly.

    Missing out on the hoshi. Decent capacity, higher output than the san-tai. If you pair it with something like the alba core you'll have a 1sec recharge delay and it will be very fast due to the extra output being dumped into supply efficiency

    Both the coral gens let you fill your EN capacity to the max, which is great for cramming as much firepower into as little weight as possible. The Aorta in particular barely weighs anything and lets you cram some obscene weapon loads onto frames that have no right running that much firepower.
    Overall I think gen weights don't matter *that* much in gen 6, which is why the 20D and San Tai are such standouts; yeah they weigh 5000 more than most of their competitors, but that's not really an issue in almost any build.

    Got a question and 2 opinions to share.
    Question: You mentioned speed breakpoints, are there well known and understood important speed breakpoints? If so I'd love to hear about them!
    Opinion 1: The lightest Dafeng generator has honestly been impressing me (the ling-tai). Sure it doesn't provide a lot of power or capacity but it reinitiates recharge so fast. You barely need to stop after a 0.5s quickboost to get a bit of energy back. Means that you can adopt a playstyle of getting small amounts of energy between quickboosts to have a near infinite supply without ever having to do a long weight for a full bar. The short timer also means you don't need as much excess energy, which alleivates one of its downsides. Obviously it's only good on light ACs (or more accurately low energy ACs if you can get a midweight build with not much EN consumption going) and light ACs have their own problems ATM, but I think it's definitely not worth ignoring. If very specialised lol.
    In theory the you get an absurdly quick recharge initiation with Ling-Tai + Nachtreiher core but in practise the cores terrible output adjustmen combines terribly with the Ling-Tai's already low output.
    Opinion 2: Love the greek mosaic style markings on that AC, they look sweet!

    • @TheAzureGhost
      @TheAzureGhost 10 місяців тому +2

      I also like the LingTai and use it with an Alba Core (Rustys AC).
      2180 more weight than the Nachtreiher. It has a bit less booster efficiency and minimally less generator supply adjust (recharge delay) but they stay above 100 and also pump up the generator output to 101 and offer a chunk more defensive stats.

    • @TMRaven
      @TMRaven 10 місяців тому +2

      I personally don't know how the speed breakpoints work. Tough it seems the closer you are to the max load limit of your AC, the sooner they creep up.
      But yeah there will be some cases where going from vp20c to vp20d will only lose you 3kph, and in other cases you'll lose like 20-30kph. I just play it by ear and design around each AC.

    • @TheAzureGhost
      @TheAzureGhost 10 місяців тому

      @@TMRaven have you checked if you go over the weight softlimit of the booster when it goes up so much? each booster has a limit that breaking ramps up efficiency rapidly for each bit of extra weight above.
      also the impact of 5k extraweight on a light ac has far more impact on a generally heavier one as the %weight increase from changing generator goes down the higher the general weight of your machine is.
      another factor could be different booster efficiency multiplyers from core parts as a high efficiency increase also means each point it's decreased from weight is amplified too.

    • @TMRaven
      @TMRaven 10 місяців тому

      @@TheAzureGhost I have, yes. IIRC they were about the same penalties/decreases throughout multiple boosters. I think the booster weight limit only affects quick boost reload time.

      @@TMRaven There're two big break points at 40k and 75k weight (regardless of boosters). Try building a midweight around 75k and you'll see you massively lose speed over that, but barely gains any if you go lower. With ALULA boosters you only lose around 10 speed going from 50k to 75k, but lose 20 speed going from 75k to 80k.

    I honestly think the coral gen is busted and not very healthy for this game as is, but then again this is AC6, what even is healthy right now?
    I feel like the high recharge timer does not justify the immense stats it boasts litteraly everywhere else.. hell it can even support energy weapons, you won't be out DPSing the VE-20C but you are better at virtually everything else.. capacity, supply, perma flight and you only lose about 5-7% damage for EN weapons, nevermind it enabling some of the most snore inducing playstyles in this game. Oh and for some reason it also deals bonus damage with Assault Armor, as a bonus, because why not.

    • @TMRaven
      @TMRaven 10 місяців тому

      Yeah unfortunately lightweights are in a pretty bad place right now in the current state of AC6. I don't really see the notion of the 'heaviest generators never fitting' on lightweight builds. It really depends on how close you are to your legs' load limit, but in nearly all cases you're only losing out on 2-3kph of speed going from a lighter weight generator to something like San-Tai or VP-20D.
      For the times that you're close to a speed breakpoint or just can't find away to build around the heavier generators, then VP-20C and Hokushi are good choices as well. I chose VP-20C because it fits a little easier when trying to minimize weight from the generator. It's 2k less weight than Hokushi with near identical capacity and recharge delay, but loses out a little bit on output.
