- The KV-220 is, by far, one of the most fun tanks I have ever played in War Thunder. Unfortunately, that comes at the expense of every other player. The thing just does not die. The side armor is just as thick as the front, so it's an absolute beast when angled. Even if you do manage to penetrate it, it will likely survive due to having six crew and a lot of fuel tanks. I would definitely say it's still overpowered, and Gaijin should probably uptier it.

This is probably everyone's most wanted tank, especially among Russian community. It's absolutely godlike, but at the same time very rare and expensive.
Ya I wish I had it. It's such a cool looking tank and its actually good. If only thay re did the event.

@@cnlbenmc you know how play kvs, right? Jokes aside, the kv220 is really too powerful for 5.7. It should get uptiered to 6.3-6.7 and get the apcbc and the apcr, like the t44.

The first time I fought a KV-220 was against my M6A2E1 in 38th parallel and apparently he thought he was immune but I quickly reminded him of weak spots when I shot his hull machine gun port and he went kaboom

The only thing in this compilation that didn’t deserve to die was that poor hetzer sat in the field minding his own business. The rest just looked like people that think the German tanks are invincible.
Nah, I played through that tier as Germany, it’s generally just forgetting you can’t rely on your teammates. (Also probably not knowing they can’t pen this vehicle).
i think most of them have never seen a tank like this before and assume it is the kv 102 or what ever the other long barrel kv2 is called and shot where they knew to pen it

That was me yesterday in a M4A2 76. In one life I killed 6 Tigers with 4 of them being in head on engagements. Tiger players really are stupid and I know this as a new player with less than 1000 battles.

I saw one of these on my team yesterday, and it died first out of the entire team with no kills.
They are only powerful when they are on the enemy team, that’s the general rule in this game.
Meanwhile when I play mine the enemy always perfectly kills my gun.
be more aggressive, don't forget that kv220 make players panic when they see it rushing. And don't forget to wiggle the turret.
Same with my Strv-103, somehow every single player is able to snipe either the barrel or the engine the second they lay the gun on me... Only times they don't is when the wedge shows up right on their ass and goes ''BRRRRRR'' with 4 second reload.

Haha I had this problem recently... I was sat in my KV220, and me and this churchill were shooting each other for 5 minutes point blank range and got absolutely no where until my team flanked him and dealt with it 🤣

I was grinding the nashorn (with the long 88 ya know) at the time when the kv220 was released like a virus. I would be straight in front of it and shoot at the barely angled front plate, but kept bouncing because I didn't have a gaming chair and there was no bias at all obviously ...
And then when I was grinding the sturer Emil, the is6 was released........... Totally balanced and the hidden steel plates inside the tank were totally bugs

I’m really glad you made this, because I used my Jumbo Sherman in a match and I literally shot this things barrel, tracks, and couldn’t pen anything else before he repaired and killed me.
it really is easy to kill if you know the giant glaring weak spot that is the MG port, just like the Jumbo

I used to think the Italian TDs had really bad armor (2.3-3.0br) but I’ve bounced shells before and I just now realized it’s more of a balanced vehicle than other tanks/TDs

@@dapperfield595 nothing for stats. It's just a premium with less repair cost and more silver lions and research points gain. Basically already OP wehicle (especially in arcade) but you can grind a ton of money.

Nah, it's just a struggle for newer players who've never seen one before and can't guess the weakspots. The kv-220 is a good tank, but it's not that much better than the tiger 1h or tiger 1p command.

funnily enough, the only 2 times I've ever met this thing in battle, both were on the B cap of El-Alamein, and both times were when I was in American tanks

I would like an improvement of the map like/dislike/ban system where you can set it for loadouts seperately.
That way you could have your matchmaker prefer different maps for different lineups, for example, open wide maps for higher tiers, and smaller maps at lower br.
1:40 you can see the Tiger IIs barrel recoil in the hit cam. Never seen that in game before.

I was in one of the battles on the beach map with the Normandy village I think. I was stunned to fimd out not only did I face Spookston but he shot out 3 of my crew right off the hop as I was trying to cap A. He went 6 and 1 and I was not surprised given his skill and the 220's tendency to bounce fucking everything to the point that it just doesn't seem correct lol. I was kind surprised he only killed 6 teammates honestly because he had a great flank going and still did a number with 6 kills but I was stoked I got to finally meet a UA-camr I follow in a match.
I was already in a full up tier so I didn't have much of a chance but I at least had a Nashorn and could threaten even the 220 but I hid until he left after he shot out half my crew and only later did I realize it was him who did it lol.

The KV-220 is pretty good, but mostly depending on the matchmaking tbh. Obviously, the BR raising of the british tanks has helped it a lot, since those were most of the vehicles who could pen without even having to think
It used to be better but also worse, since it had less BR and could basically kill anything that it faced, at 5.7 is good, but also it's the same old thing with weird event heavies, most people doesn't know how to face them because they're not used to them, since they're rare and stuff. Actually you can usually pen it the same pen you can pen the hull of a KV-1 head on, the thing on the center, even when angled
However, if you face Tiger II H head on, or some other stuff head on, since the 85mm doesn't have that much pen, you really can't do much against a bunch of vehicles in your matchmaking
Since the vehicle has good acceleration, you don't have to engage stuff head on, but still, it's a big tank so that'll happen, you really can't do much except breaking the barrel and flanking. That doesn't mean you'll die when facing them head on, since they won't know where to shoot anyway if you angle enough
It's also not really hard at all when facing enemies from more than one direction since the turret has the same problem as the Tiger II turret, turn it a little and the angling is actually helping the enemy pen you. Also, the breech can be pen from the front. The good thing is, it'll soak the damage, but good luck fighting back on your own
It also used to have a crappy damage model, which made the breech break with almost any hit, with the smallest amount of spalling hitting it, and the same with fire. The repair times were a fun thing too. Any relatively small repair took 20-30 seconds, I think, but the same applied to repairing literally every single part of the vehicle with 2 crew left on a shitty crew.
You definitely noticed when repairing this thing compared to the Tiger with its ludicrous repair time
Overall, it's a pretty good vehicle but
there is alot of thing RA3 is faulty in but the sound track is a right up banger
This makes me remember the time when me and my 4 friends bullying kv220 with Crusader 3 and m4s

Can you do a video on suggestions for Repair Costs? I took the time to look through them for about 10 minutes and they are absolutely screwed.
BMP-2 at 8.3 for roughly 2k. You get a gun, speed, low profile, and an ATGM
M113A1 at 8, roughly 3.5k. You get just an ATGM, that can only be fire once stopped.
7-8 BR British and French tanks are almost never less than 7k. German and USSR tanks are roughly 3-4k.
Gepard/type 87 vs SIDAM. 2.4k vs 12k.
Swedish Ilmator and other similar eight missile AA cost 16.8k.
And others. Not to mention repair costs encourage bad gameplay. I bring two low tier vehicles into top tier to maximize my chances of get the God Mode accolade, since it is what I need to stay afloat. Whilst using those it is almost impossible for me to contribute unless I get extremely lucky against unarmored tanks.
Keep in mind, these are all tanks. I didn't bother to go through naval or air. I know that a lot of Italian planes have staggering 16k repair costs, if I remember correctly.
