I don’t think that it’s really any of their faults, Y/n probably has some kind of trauma and has lost someone that she loved or something might’ve happened in her past that made her insecure. I don’t think it really relates back to not trusting him, but I also understand Jungkook’s perspective. He was suffocating due to Y/n’s over possessiveness, which is really toxic in a relationship. In my opinion, if they ever meet again and want to get into a relationship again, they should just talk it out and Jungkook should try helping Y/n with her insecurity and make her feel safe and secured, so Y/n can stop being so possessive with Jungkook. They should definitely take their relationship slowly though, so their relationship can be stronger in the future.
I honestly was so against y/n she herself is sabotaging her relationship but the thing that made me think she is genuinely in love is how she valued his small gift to her and how she took his words to heart and disappeared, this really made my heart heavy, yes she was in the wrong but at the same time was he harsh on her even though he claims she is his first love and wants her to be happy.
