We have 4vocal registers namely "Vocal Fry, Falsetto, Modal Register(composed of two subvocals Chest Voice and Head Voice), and lastly Whistle Register" The difference of falsetto and head voice pgdating sa tunog, pg falsetto kc, no chord closure, so the vocal chords are open w/c is the reason y air can pass thru while singing using falsetto, so pg soft and airy ang sound, falsetto un, Pg head voice nmn, there is chord closure, so the vocal chords closes and no air can pass thru, kya stronger and louder and more resonant ang tunog. Its hard to go really high with a falsetto bcoz its hard to keep ur chords open as u go higher. If u listen to mariah's last note on the song "never too far" that's a really high falsetto, it's really high but still has air in it. But if u listen to whitney, she uses a lot of headvoice (pure head voice btw) on her song "i will always love u" and "run to u". I said pure headvoice, bcoz headvoice can actually be mixed with chestvoice w/c is called "mixed voice", these two can be mixed bcoz they belong to the same register w/c is the ModalRegister. U cant mix one register to another. Mixed voices are commonly used by male rockstars. Their highpitched scream are mixed voices, like adam lambert or steven tyler of aerosmith.
