I buy my Indian Almond Leaves from Flip Aquatics (I get the 40 pack because they last me longer) bit.ly/3eCgcor You can get other botanicals there as well! If you want to get the Brightwell Blackwater Extract, you can get it here: amzn.to/3iv5G3l The NP betta powder is a bit more tricky to find BUT there are people on eBay who sell some.
I just use Indian Almond Leaf in hot water like a tea and let steep overnight. This is my first betta using this and his fins and scales are very healthy. Wish this was available 30 years ago to prevent fin issues. Thanks for this video and the one previous on this issue. Say hi to Banana.
@@suemelo96 I do not since boiling the water eliminates chlorine and chlorimine. I have a small 2.5gal tank and use only 4 tbs every water change. My betta does not like the actual leaf in his aquarium. You may also clean the catappa leaf and add directly to your aquarium. Just remember the water will not look crystal clear. The tea is easier to control. It’s great for the betta fins and scales. Steep overnight and will be ready the next day.
The NP betta powder from Thailand works and its legit tannins... I am using it for my betta since last year and it has improved my betta's heath and aided in the betta's colour contrast and colour mutation
@@CreativePetKeeping yup.... It works and its safe to recommend to others... many betta hobbyist in Malaysia use this powder and so far there are no negative feedback from them..me inclusive 😆
For me i use 10 cattapa leaves, 2 alder cones and 5 mango leafs for 1L of boiled water I then use 100ml of extract per 5 gallons and i dont refrigerate just store in dark place incase uv breaks down tannins
Thanks so much for this. My Betta constantly has fun rot. I don’t know what else to do. I change his water weekly, I use Kanaplex and Furan-2, and his fin rot steadily progresses.☹️
I hope it helps! I use a lot of tannins to help deal with fin rot and give my fish some quiet alone time (if they share a tank with other fish). This seems to help speed up the healing process.
Hi, Hope you're well. I put some dried almond leaves in my tank and it went from being crystal clear to brown real quick. Will this method prevent from staining the water? Kindly advice 😅
No the entire point of adding Indian almond leaves is to darken the water. This darkened water is the tannins that are released from the leaves that help soften the water by lowering the PH and also adding antibacterial and antifungal properties. If you don't like the look of darker water simply conduct a water change around 30/40% every other day and replace with conditioned/treated water. Or you can use Seachem purigen or activated carbon to get rid of the tannins/darkwater from your tank. There are tutorials on UA-cam on how to use seachem purigen and activated carbon to remove tannins. But of course... All of the suggestions outlined above defeats the entire purpose of adding Indian Almond leave to your tank in the first place which is to help your fish.
I don't because I'm not sure how the chemicals from the water conditioner would react with boiling water as they were not meant to be used in such high temperatures.
@@CreativePetKeeping I was thinking the same thing since I was also conflicted about it raising the Ph, but I suppose that’s where the almond leaves come in handy as well. Great to know! Thank you for getting back with me on this.

Hey There😃, If My Female Betta Have Egg spot But Not A huge Tummy Does The Birth Spot Means She Is Pregnant?.... It Would Be Awesome If Replied Early So I Can Do Some Setup For Them😊😊
Hi! All female bettas have eggs but they are not fertile so she will just reabsorb her eggs back into her body. Eggs spots are just normal features of female bettas (and some males that have false egg spots)
My fish has fin rot and it’s not improving, I do frequent water changes, add aquarium salt and bettafix. She’s very happy but her condition isn’t improving.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help answer my problem: when breeding, the male betta won’t even look at the eggs that fall, he just keeps wiggling under the bubble nest, then the female goes down and eats them...what should I do ?

Do you have to add a water conditioner?

Great video. I was actually just thinking about doing this. Perfect timing!
Do you have to use water conditioner after it’s boiled because it came straight from the tap?

Thats really good to know! I was not 100% sure and was worried about recommending it even though it worked fine for my fish.

Nope
great video,
thank u!

It always stressed me out that I didn't use the betta conditioned treated water when boiling and pouring it over the leaves
Are we supposed to add the condition treatment to the extract?
Lucky me owns Indian almond, guava, and banana trees

You're male maybe new to breeding and may need some experience, You could just try again, If that fails Maybe try a different male if you have one too
It is better to add a teaspoon of toddy and salt in that bottle 😍😍
There is a way to check if it is real you just need to boil it and take a sniff if it Smells Like tobacco or burntwood then it is real
Omg .. I'm in India I'm not getting almond leaf .. I got clove n banana
helooooooo
please notice meeee
