This disorder can be a very complex set of characteristics (which includes all or some of the listed points) and can often go without notice until a very long time. Particularly in case the person in question is extremely manipulative. This also makes it hard to diagnose. Narcissistic abuse is the worst form of mental abuse anyone has to bear. Living with a narcissist can literally pulverize a victims self esteem and confidence forever while their lack of empathy can be killing. I thank you for producing such valuable and informative videos which I believe is an excellent eyeopener and is capable of creating a basic level of awareness in your viewers. dear rena, I couldn't agree with you more. someone can be extremely manipulative, lack empathy or abusive but their traits didn't fit clinical criteria for NPD. it may fit another personality disorder ( mainly personality disorder type B ). If you are curious about personality type B, you can google it. Some of them have similar criteria with NPD. I also agree with you, narcissistic abuse can leave more than just emotional damage. I really enjoyed this and it got me thinking as I was watching it. I have for a longtime believed narcissism is a disconnect from the world. Also, a lack of empathy. Where does that come from? I suspect that a portion of that would come from a lack of love in the upbringing but why the entitlement or grandiosity? I wonder if this isn't somewhat related to Bipolar, schizophrenia and other closely related disorders. I have seen papers on grandiosity as being a symptom of those other disorders as well. It also seems with these disorders one is born with a predisposition to the disorder and that childhood trauma exacerbates it. I suppose the traumas may explain the disconnect.

I also heard new research shows that lowering inflammation in the brain increases empathy, compassion, and our planning capability. since grandiosity is part of delusional disorder, you might find it in people with schizophrenia or bipolar ( when they are in manic episode ). mental health issues always interesting, everything seems complicated and linked...maybe if you have free time, you can bring up about mental health issues on your channel.
