Yes Tamamo is still awesome, video over. She’s got things you’d want that Castoria doesn’t. Heals, drain enemy NP, NP damage up, skill cooldown reduction, refund for the whole team on her (very spamsble) NP, etc. Tamamo is excellent for longer, survival/challenge fights you don’t expect to win in a turn or two.
Tamamo is for survival, and castoria is for quick takedowns, combined, you have an unkillable team if only she was able to give a morph defense along with a defense pierce immunity to the team, she would be amazing in rivaling Castoria
Tbh, as much as a party wide 20% battery would make her amazing, I kinda wish her 2nd skill was party wide def up for both effects. So all your servants get 60% def up for one turn, then 30% the following turns. You could then pair her up with Mash and Summer Ibuki and have a team that doesnt stop firing off np's, and def stacking to the extreme while putting out damage.
Tamamo was my first SSR servant (getting from the GSSR ticket counts!) and never regretted it. She might not have any battery, but when her NP gets rolling, she's the one keeping the team topped up and ready to spam their skills again. And considering she can be spooked unlike most other support casters, chances are you'll get her one day. She might not be as busted as Castoria, Merlin or Skadi, but the fact she can give a 50% arts steriod, 30% NP damage and remove a NP charge on top of a cd reduction, healing np, she's still a solid support servant that even supports the other meta supports. As for what I think her s2 upgrade could be, it could be similar to Aphotic Cave from Fate/Extra where she gains more np charge every time she gets hit, either by a certain % that improves with skill level or boost her np gen from damage taken by 1000%. They may have to increase her defense higher for it to be viable though, maybe 50% def for 3 turns and extra 40% on t1.
Tamamo is good, and unlike Castoria she CAN be gotten off one of the *5 Star Welfare Tickets. Between a Support Castoria, Paraclesus, and a 50% Charge CE, you can get away with a effective bootleg version of Double Castoria for simple farming, scaling upwards with what kind of CEs and supports/Loops you have. She's also great in longer fights - can't beat the sheer value her NP brings, ESPECIALLY in conjunction with a Merlin, Mash, or even Castoria herself.
Made my billionth new account recently and just got Tamamo from her rate up banner this morning. Time to pick Jeanne on the anniversary ticket to run boomer-ass Arts stall teams with like Boudica and Astrea.
I used her to get more damage. But when the game lock the friend supports, I use Morgan, Tamamo and Castoria to get the same effect and do np loop again.
I just want ANY buff for her 2nd skill, doesn't even need to be a battery. Tamamo might just be the only meta support that has a completely selfish skill... At least make it party wide defense or something...
Got her with the last ssr ticket and I can easily say she is one of my go-to servants for challenge quests (her np is soo good). She is also helpful for looping if you can't reach that threshold with double castoria. Paracelcus works better for looping consistency, but Tamamo works better for damage boosting.
1+1=3 Likewise, Tamamo + Castoria has a great synergy. Tamamo’s NP that reduces skill cooldown, heals Hp, and gives NP charge covering what Castoria is lacking and the latter has the invincibility that protects all allies plus a set of skills that pretty buffs up and charges NP whenever needed. Just select an Arts DPS with these two and see just how great these two are in challenge quests.
Another aspect of what makes Tamamo good is that she can help make up for lacking NP levels. Either by increasing the arts np gain and/or by increasing the damage the NP does. In either case she does an excellent job of supporting your Castoria setup.
I like using Tamamo with Castoria for some of my arts servants. Mostly either my Zerkersashi for farming or my Astraea/MHXX when I want one thing in particular to die repeatedly. That second skill getting buffed would be clutch though. NP gain would be awesome but just straight NP would be nice too, along with defense and maybe debuff protection.
Welp, since I couldn't get Castoria when she came out, yes, Tamamo is still useful to me since it's thanks to her and Paracelsus that I can farm with Muramasa and Summer Musashi. And I think she's still useful for CQ thanks to her skills and np.

Tamamo is my favorite support. Aside from how cute I think she is, I love using her in combination with any other arts servants to spam everyone's NPs and keep the skill uses and HP coming. She really brings stall teams together for hard quests
After getting to use her a bit more lately together with Castoria, she is still good. She can do a lot of stuff Castoria can't do with the most important of them imo being survivability which can really come in handy in more difficult stuff. Now obviously if someone already owns Castoria, then yeah she could be considered irrelevant but if someone can use both, even better.

If Tamamo's 2 gave party defense and 10-20% party charge, she'd be right on par with Castoria. Would help her facilitate her as part of farming loop teams as well as keeping her functionality in longer encounters without making her totally busted.
One minor buff can put her on the map again. Make the 3 turn defense on her second skill apply to the team instead of herself. And then increase NP gain for herself.
I do think that, rather than giving skill 2 a party battery, if it gave a chunky self battery (not a 100% or anything like that, but just a decent one, maybe a 30-50 or something) that that would push her pretty hard. Getting her to her first NP is where she can be a little painful at the moment, but one you do she's cracked. And cutting a turn of getting back to her NP every few turns would take her from being really good in hard content, to being nuts. Yeah, farming's a big part of the game, but making every servant a farming servant would just make the game flat.
Chen Gong if you want to farm, if you don't have Castoria yet you can invest in a budget Arts supports like Mozart, Paracelsus. There is also Boudica but the others I mentioned are better than her at the moment

She is very good with aoe charge skill servants since her cooldown reduction on np has enormous synergy with it. Less cooldown -> more skills -> more np -> less cooldown. Since she is a healer with a charge drain but no hard defense she work well with supports with hard defense or in some cases with other charge drainers to infinitly delay enemy nps. Some constallations to consider: * Tamamo + merlin + buster/arts dps. Tamamos charge drain + cooldown reduction allowes illusion to recharge between enemy nps to block all of a boss nps and fox wedding and herocreation can buff your attacker depending on their np type with the other used as an emergency heal. This support setup is probably not quiet as strong as double merlin for buster and is eclipsed by tamamo + artoria caster for art but is still very good. Also if you have both supports then you can borrow a dps depending on situation. Note that the new buster supports kovanskya and oberon are both short sprint fight boosters unlike tamamo and merlin that are more long extended fight supports. * Tamamo + Zhuge Liang + charge drain arts dps. The typical dps for this team is often Kiara (alterego) but others work to different degrees. With the np charge and cooldown reduction along with all 3 characters having np drains this can drain an enemys np as fast as they are generating it never allowing them to fire of an np. This is one of the only teams capable of stalling and slowly fighting enemies like summer abigail or amakusa that have aoe buff removal nps. If you wanna lean more heavily into arts then a castoria is a valuable companion for Tamamo if you wanna open up stronger quick teams a Skadi to go along with your merlin is a good mix of offense and defense you can just borrow one if you have a good dps unit of your own.
Hoping her 2nd skill got buff with AoE defense team buff(except self which she already got her own self defense buff from OG 2nd morph skill) for 3T and Team NP gauge up by 20% or straight up 30% np gauge up(selectable) whether on self or single ally.

ITs cause she can be replaced by Para and or Bride. Generally for Farming you don't want to use supports NP but when/now with 90++ you do/need a dmg one, its why we got the Pope... with a dmg NP smh. Sadly this started with Vitch or maybe it was done on purpose but she really dropped off/came irrelevant then and what put the Nail in the coffin was Proto Merlin who you can run Esports and to drive her even further down the Pope. While she ain't as bad as Jeanne RIP, there is not much point to using her anymore, for stalls there are Merlin+Castoria with Reines/Himiko/Morgan/Mash etc. As a Tammy lover it really hurts but I am honest she is not needed anymore. It also doesn't help that healing in general took a huge hit when enemy power spikes and debuffs became more and more ridiculous, to where b2b Castoria buffs are needed and or OC ces. Which brings another point, Tammy NEEDS MLB Prisma to be viable in long runs or her bond CE for farming, while Castoria can run OC CE/2030/Prisma or any 50% charge. Sigh I'll end it here I could go on but what Tammy needs and wont get cause they don't care is 2 things, her second skill needs a party charge but she wont get that as she is perma so instead give her a star bomb to help those servants that need stars for shit and the second thing is her third shill to become rainbow....hell just add buster would work plenty but this would make her way to OP but very much relevant again.
I feel like if we give Tamamo's second skill a buff to grant the morph defense as well as a Def Pierce invincibility to the team as well as herself to reflect Castorias Invincability Pierce immunity would be far better than a NP gain increase since it makes her that much better at team survivability
I personally always use her. Even if I do double castoria I often use the plugsuit to switch 1 of them with tamamo so that my art servants can crush anything and her cd reduction saved my ass more time than I can remember
I can never see Tamamo become irrelevant. Also as one of the benefactors of your support Castoria I'm happy to offer up my support Tamamo :) Have to admit I've had her for a while and her second skill has stayed at lvl 6, but if they ever buff that I will immediately bring it to lvl 10. Changing that to a party wide defense buff with say a 20% NP along with the original defensive self buff would definitely make people clamor to get her. Lasangle would see copious amounts of QP spent in any banner for her no doubt. I also wanted to point out that she has a nice bond CE that offers an additional 15% Arts effectiveness party wide. Comes in real handy in double Castoria/plugsuit setups, especially when dealing with troublesome Zerker or Assassin nodes: Spishtar, Summer Melt, Summer Kiara, Da Vinci Rider and every other Arts looper just love her for that.
It depends on if you need damage or charge more. I'd say Tamamo if you need damage and Nero if you need charge more. Although they both give both to some degree.
My Tam is 10/10/10 and 1000/2000 fou'ed, has been a staple of my team for a while, especially since I was taking a breaking during the time Castoria came to NA, so I still get fairly good usage out of her.
My farming setup is Castoria with bond CE, dps (mostly SpIshtar but also use Kiara and Odysseus), second Castoria and Tamamo with bond CE. Cast everything from both Artorias, replace support with Tamamo via plugsuit, buff arts on dps another time. As a result dps get full refund on each wave. No need to refuel. Use Tama's first skill on 3rd wave if needed, but mostly isn't required.
As for myself Mash is always in the back so I can run double castoria and tamamo(still need to get her bond ce,im at bond 9) and my dps of choice and I still have enough cost to bond farm servants with the bond CEs
i wish she has aoe debuff immune 3 turn on skill2 or buff remove resist or remove buff on enemies. if she has that enemies NP control f2p team will be really crazy. if they dont consider her for 3 turn farm it will be nice if stall set up gone nut. also NP battery is nice too but something unique to her will be cooler

I mean her buff is comparable to merlin last I remembered but from what I remember on current na version of the game its probably best swapping her in to buff and heal and then have nightingale die to continue buff rotation
Tamamo is the best compare Lady Avalon. Reason? Simple u can get free Tamamo while impossible to get Lady avalon. At anniverssary -> arcueid banner after that ibuki douji summer, banner, lady avalon banner and skadi summer banner. ALL OF THEM ON SAME MONTH! Which is crazy... Is possible to get lady avalon, if u skip but... Arcueid damn strong, ibuki douji summer damn hot and sexy.
I'm still unsure who I want from that. With only a little bit of saving, 7th Ani will give me enough for pity for any 1 Servant, but which one?? I'll probably go with Proto Merlin as the OG one has been doggedly avoiding my GSSRs (NP3 Da Vinci says Hi).
Not irrelevant, she's still viable but there are certainly alternative, at least equally good if not better, options out there in 2023. I tend to prefer Lady Avalon to her as a secondary support for double Castoria set up, or even in conjunction with just a single Castoria.
Short answer: YES, FLUFFY TAILS FTW!!!!!! Peolpe who say she's weak either don't have her, don't bother to level her up or they just don't like her. Once you place her in a team, she grants heal/battery/reload for the party and disruption against the enemies. Edit: S2 upgrade (maybe); 1hit invul, 3T 30% NP Gain (both effetcts for all allies), 1T 40%Def. and 3T 40% Def. for herself. Or... NP upgrade (maybe); 1proc./3T 50% heal up for allies, 1proc./3T 2 overcharge for allies (minus herself), 30%~90% NP battery for allies (Oc. Upgrade).
Tamamo is very good, no doubt about it, and she pairs very nicely with Castoria. That being said, while calling her "irrelevant" seems way too harsh, I'm not sure there's a lot of setups where she's the best option anymore. For casual farming, you usually don't bother with a third support. Meaning two Castoria, two Koyanskaya, and if you're feeling nostalgic, two Skadi. For harder farming content, or for blitz CQ, you probably want Oberon, who adds insane numbers to damage and can easily top up your NP gauge if you're a bit short. And for longer battles, Tamamo is incredible, but there's a reason the so-called Immortal Team uses Castoria + Merlin instead. Of course, being that close to the top still means she can be very useful, especially since not everyone has every premium support, and she's not limited, making her way more available, if only through a SSR ticket.
If you love her so much, why aren't you farming to give her the Boning she deserves? 19-21AP per Bone isn't much, just point FGA at Fuyuki and go BRRRRRRR. There's no sense to wait for a lotto as you appear to be doing.

She’s still my main caster. Has been since I first started playing back in 2015.
I use her to stabilize my summer Musashi runs with double Castoria.

Considering it’s far easier to NP5 her compared to castoria who is limited is one advantage, as well as her healing and skill cool down

Which brings another point, Tammy NEEDS MLB Prisma to be viable in long runs or her bond CE for farming, while Castoria can run OC CE/2030/Prisma or any 50% charge.
Sigh I'll end it here I could go on but what Tammy needs and wont get cause they don't care is 2 things, her second skill needs a party charge but she wont get that as she is perma so instead give her a star bomb to help those servants that need stars for shit and the second thing is her third shill to become rainbow....hell just add buster would work plenty but this would make her way to OP but very much relevant again.
I feel like if we give Tamamo's second skill a buff to grant the morph defense as well as a Def Pierce invincibility to the team as well as herself to reflect Castorias Invincability Pierce immunity would be far better than a NP gain increase since it makes her that much better at team survivability

I personally always use her. Even if I do double castoria I often use the plugsuit to switch 1 of them with tamamo so that my art servants can crush anything and her cd reduction saved my ass more time than I can remember
I can never see Tamamo become irrelevant. Also as one of the benefactors of your support Castoria I'm happy to offer up my support Tamamo :)
Have to admit I've had her for a while and her second skill has stayed at lvl 6, but if they ever buff that I will immediately bring it to lvl 10. Changing that to a party wide defense buff with say a 20% NP along with the original defensive self buff would definitely make people clamor to get her. Lasangle would see copious amounts of QP spent in any banner for her no doubt.
I also wanted to point out that she has a nice bond CE that offers an additional 15% Arts effectiveness party wide. Comes in real handy in double Castoria/plugsuit setups, especially when dealing with troublesome Zerker or Assassin nodes: Spishtar, Summer Melt, Summer Kiara, Da Vinci Rider and every other Arts looper just love her for that.

It depends on if you need damage or charge more.
I'd say Tamamo if you need damage and Nero if you need charge more. Although they both give both to some degree.
Paracelsus is also a good option if all you need is more np refund.
you can use Tamamo in farming in a Chen Gong setup (I use her as the Chen Gong first bullet)

My Tam is 10/10/10 and 1000/2000 fou'ed, has been a staple of my team for a while, especially since I was taking a breaking during the time Castoria came to NA, so I still get fairly good usage out of her.
Castoria is better at looping and her np's special invulnerability, tamamo's better utility wise
My farming setup is Castoria with bond CE, dps (mostly SpIshtar but also use Kiara and Odysseus), second Castoria and Tamamo with bond CE. Cast everything from both Artorias, replace support with Tamamo via plugsuit, buff arts on dps another time.
As a result dps get full refund on each wave. No need to refuel. Use Tama's first skill on 3rd wave if needed, but mostly isn't required.
You can use her 1st skill on turn 1 since the np buff lasts for 3 turns

As for myself Mash is always in the back so I can run double castoria and tamamo(still need to get her bond ce,im at bond 9) and my dps of choice and I still have enough cost to bond farm servants with the bond CEs
i wish she has aoe debuff immune 3 turn on skill2 or buff remove resist or remove buff on enemies. if she has that enemies NP control f2p team will be really crazy.
if they dont consider her for 3 turn farm it will be nice if stall set up gone nut.
also NP battery is nice too but something unique to her will be cooler
Love using Tamamo for challenge quests. Especially when I can't bring a friend Castoria. On another note, what are your thoughts on the current state of OG Jeanne? Do you think she's viable and what kinda buffs could she see to differentiate herself from Castoria?

I mean her buff is comparable to merlin last I remembered but from what I remember on current na version of the game its probably best swapping her in to buff and heal and then have nightingale die to continue buff rotation

Not irrelevant, she's still viable but there are certainly alternative, at least equally good if not better, options out there in 2023. I tend to prefer Lady Avalon to her as a secondary support for double Castoria set up, or even in conjunction with just a single Castoria.

Peolpe who say she's weak either don't have her, don't bother to level her up or they just don't like her. Once you place her in a team, she grants heal/battery/reload for the party and disruption against the enemies.
Edit: S2 upgrade (maybe); 1hit invul, 3T 30% NP Gain (both effetcts for all allies), 1T 40%Def. and 3T 40% Def. for herself.
Or...
NP upgrade (maybe); 1proc./3T 50% heal up for allies, 1proc./3T 2 overcharge for allies (minus herself), 30%~90% NP battery for allies (Oc. Upgrade).

Tamamo is very good, no doubt about it, and she pairs very nicely with Castoria. That being said, while calling her "irrelevant" seems way too harsh, I'm not sure there's a lot of setups where she's the best option anymore.
For casual farming, you usually don't bother with a third support. Meaning two Castoria, two Koyanskaya, and if you're feeling nostalgic, two Skadi. For harder farming content, or for blitz CQ, you probably want Oberon, who adds insane numbers to damage and can easily top up your NP gauge if you're a bit short. And for longer battles, Tamamo is incredible, but there's a reason the so-called Immortal Team uses Castoria + Merlin instead.
Of course, being that close to the top still means she can be very useful, especially since not everyone has every premium support, and she's not limited, making her way more available, if only through a SSR ticket.
