Revelle Balmain - Sydney Model Vanished into Thin Air - SUBTITLES

In 1994 Revelle Balmain disappeared from a busy Sydney suburb. It is strongly believed that her disappearance involved foul play. The police have always suspected the involvement of one man over the decades, who still walks free - but was it really him?
It was alleged that she was last seen at a pub where I would drink beer occasionally.
I lived very close to the area at the time, and I also detail my belief that I saw her a short time before she vanished.
In Australia, more than 38,000 missing persons reports are received by police each year. While most people are found within a short period of time, there remain approximately 2,600 long term missing persons; those who have been missing for more than three months. Revelle is one of them.
If anyone has any vital information that could help police solve this case, now is the time to come forward.
Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Aramac detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestopp.... Information is treated in strict confidence.

Yes, so trust just anyone. Wonder if his girlfriend still stuck by him, or did the pawning of the clarinet "fix it" for her?

I recently saw an Australian documentary (I believe it was 60 minutes),where they stated that they are getting close to the culprits, they suspect that her last client killed her and that the escort couple helped him cover up the murder.

@@mlgauss60435 I think that they took her and sold her to the highest bidder. She was stunning, Exactly what a man in the middle east would like or even to put her into service. They'd get a high price for her. What does it matter after all she was a prostitue. (sarcasm). She would be highly prized either way. It was tragic whatever happened to her.

They always say they're getting close, but never close enough to prosecute. Either that or the perpetrator is long gone. If they can't catch the killer early on, evidence gets overlooked, is forgotten or never eventuates.

Thank you for the sad story. And talking about your younger days at pubs with friends. A week ago I went to my 50th high school reunion and reminiscing with old friends. Hearing your account of pubs and flats with your "old man's" memory , was a delight. I felt like I was sitting around a table hearing about the past. Loved it.

Thank you for giving her attention again. it has been a year since we lost our beautiful dogs on the 4th of June. To answer your question back then - yes, I now have another dog. Coco a 2 year old Jack Russell who needed a home, 2 months ago we met and he is a force of nature after an older beautiful dog. Cooper was so special. Like your Fifa. Never replace - embrace. Oddie, so great to wind down with you and your interesting tales. People have actually lost their minds, I spend so much of my time listening to politics, the jab, and everything else. I've been working at this place as a RN in the ER since 1994 so I've seen all kinds. A gun fell out of a mans jeans when we cut them off. He'd gotten drunk and hit a train. He hit the train, he'll be fine, I only told you that to show how dangerous it is. I love helping people and I've taken shifts on all the floors and I have to be in the ER or ICU. Thanks for letting me rant. Love from Arkansas

She doesn’t deed deserve justice, there are so many people who just go missing and if there’s not enough coverage, they are quickly forgotten about.

Hi Oddie, Great to see you pop up on my feed what a sad story nobody deserves to be murdered regardless of what they did for a living. She was beautiful such a shame. I had a school friend murdered in the early 90's maybe late 80's but she was working in a massage parlour on reception she planned to leave the job the next day but that night she worked as an escort, sadly she was found murdered he was never caught 😢. Everytime I see her grave i feel so angry she got no justice. Anyway thank you for the video great to catch up!.

I also had a similar experience, with a friend of mine being murdered, and though they know who did it, he escaped justice because his brother was a diplomat from the country he came from, and got him off. Travesty.

Hi Oddie. I remember this case. In 94 i was 20 and working in Woolloomooloo. On friday nights I'd take the Newcastle train home for the weekend. I used to do stupid things like walking home late at night from paddington to randwick but cut through centennial park. Having been raised in Newcastle i didnt have the fear i should have had. I think the Soldiers Point Revelles mother lived at was in Port Stephens not the central coast. There is one at Norah head, i think they just reported the wrong one. I danced on pool tables at Selinas but i kept my clothes on. My local at Randwick was the DOG. Thank you Oddie for walk down memory lane.

Sounds like you did some risky things back then my friend - we are the lucky ones to still be here.
I would often cycle around Centennial Park after work, doing many laps - until it got dark, then I would leave because a lot of unsavoury characters would congregate there.
      You were very lucky indeed.
The DOG was my local when I moved to the area in the mid 80s I was staying at my sisters on Frenchmans Road at the time - afterwards found my own place further up on Avoca Street.
I remember the Coogee Bay and Selinas very well, went to see Nirvana there.
It’s nice to communicate with someone who was around at that time in my stomping ground.

RIP Revelle…such a shame for a beautiful young lady with plans for a better future to have met a premature, probably violent death.

Air boner!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love that and the pics! Never boring Oddie. I love stuff like that. Especially drone footage and such from above. I always pause and pour over it all to see what I can catch. I was a big "pub or bar" crawler in the 80s. Got drunk in a biker bar and fell off my stool. A big biker chick literally picked me up and put me back on it! No shit. I got blackout bombed back then. Not good. Thanks Oddie. Very interesting🙏🏼💔🕊️🇦🇺

Glad you enjoyed it Laura, a bit of humour is always good after a murder case I think.
Oh so you were also a pub crawler like me, luckily I stuck mostly to beer but the times that I did drink spirits I also would blackout, and yes it’s not good and I decided to knock that on the head.
Although I was never a violent drunk, I just liked having a good time.
That’s one advantage about being older, we don’t have to go through that anymore!
Very glad you enjoying my content and take care my friend.

Revelle deserves justice and to be properly laid to rest by her surviving family. I hope they find her remains so she can have a funeral, and I hope her killer or killers are held accountable.
Given as this was the mid 90s and Christ knows what was going on in the Balkans at that time, I can’t help but wonder if the two Serbian / Yugoslav clients were horrendous war criminal types well accustomed to doing what they wanted to women and wouldn’t have thought twice about hurting a call girl, and getting their mate to cover it up afterward. It was a really brutal time in that part of Europe and many terrible crimes were inflicted on people by those involved in the military and local militias - violence became the norm and women and girls in particular really suffered 😢

Fabulous channel Oddie! Revelle Balmain reminds me of the young British lady Lucie Blackman who went to Japan to become an escort lady for rich & powerful Japanese men. And she ended up dead by A Korean man who immigrated to Japan who spoke great English by the name of Joji Obara. Dangerous profession for pretty, young ladies. You are dealing with powerful, sometimes dangerous men! Thanks for the upload. 💕💕

I absolutely believe that it was the last client who killed her. Her belongings were found not far from his home. She went there and I'm sure that upon her arrival, she was not happy that he was a substandard client. The fact that he sold his GF's clarinet to pay for her fully explains the conditions that Revelle walked up to upon arriving at his residence. Revelle probably thought, "This is not at all what I expected -- and I need to get the hell out of here!" But, she didn't leave, even though her gut was telling her to.
She most likely just said to herself, "Okay, I'm here. I'll just get this over with really quick and leave." The guy sensed her wanting to get through it really fast and he probably got really pissed, I mean, after all the trouble that he went through to get the money! Selling his GF's clarinet! And THEN he was probably over-anxious and a bit nervous meeting Revelle and in the end he failed to make the session last for very long and once that happened, she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. And, I think that because it happened 'prematurely' he was expecting her to 'give him more time', he expected her to stay with him longer. And she wouldn't.
If you go back and look at all of the injuries on him in the photos the police took, you're going to see all of the signs where Revelle fought him off while he was probably choking her. He has fingernail scratches on his neck and face, he has multiple abrasions and bruises. This man had been in a physical altercation with someone.
Here in the United States, he would have been indicted by a grand jury just from the fact that he was the last person to see Revelle, and then with all of the fingernail scratches, the condition that his hands were in, the scrapes, and bruises on his body would have been enough to convince a grand jury!
He was the last person to see her. There are thousands of "One time only killers" out there walking the streets. This is where an individual has murdered someone and disposed of them, and then they never killed again. They go on to live normal, ordinary lives and grow old and die -- with their loved ones never knowing that about them. They take their secret to their graves!
It's sad that her parents died without ever knowing where her remains are. I hope that her last client will someday be held accountable and sent to prison for killing her. He did it!
    .

      @ObsoleteOddity  4 місяці тому +3

Just to make a valid point, I may not have mentioned it in this episode as I can’t remember exactly because it’s over two years old.
But the suspect and Revelle were known to each other, he had ordered her services many times.
It could be that he was besotted with her, and when he found out that she was leaving for Japan, something in him snapped.

Revelle Balmain surely has been done away with, either by someone hired by the Escort owner or a client. She was taking money from clients, which was known, she was picky, rejecting those she would not service, she often went off on her own. Perhaps a client did her in, but, most likely, the Business owner made an arrangement. Sad that on her last day, she disappeared. What a dangerous career choice for a woman to make.

At: 42:39-- Is this where the 'Top Hats' could be listed under? (Just kidding)
It's wonderful how you champion the under-dogs & don't let them be forgotten. Very commendable, as you age like very fine wine & isn't 'age' just a number?
Whomever does wrong doings,,, murder or really anything -- I'm of the same beliefs -- what might be hidden (wrong goings on s) the truth of wrong doings won't go unpunished.
So much for the 'real thing' ( the drink-- Coke-- ) when a 'Beer' pops out instead of 'Coke' drink 😂 & I luv the map bits.
Should we pop into the ghost 'detective' building you made for me back when & try to solve 'cases' like this one?
Thank you dear Sir for the 'Ghost City' shout out bit. "OH !?!" I found out that the pub I like to go too was once a private home way back. The police were called because the 'woman' (wife & mum) of the family had been found dead due to 'poison'-- only 'she' was 'spared'.
When the bar folks took over the house to turn it into a pub-- old bottles labeled 'poison'-- were found -- "himmm"--
Mr O ... do you think the 'Mrs' who got the property & $ on the kids & hubby may have had something to do with it?
I walk in & the nice bar tender lady says;"Guinness?" (She's also hunted ghosts) I say;"Yes please." I hope one day we (you & the dear Mrs & me) can toast a cold one there one day.
Luv the record & player at the end & the video as always. ❤
May that dear sweet lady & her parents now be together once again & that her sister (half) can find happiness & the truth of who murdered her sister.
(Sorry that this is so long-- shouldn't kiss that Irish Castle maybe?)

Thank you for your very kind feedback Ruth, you always have my back - and that’s much appreciated.
      We have each other’s back!
I also believe that people who commit happiness crimes, won’t go unpunished in the next life.
Yes, great memories of that old Coke machine, and the illicit beer bought after hours - when they brought in the 24 hour licensing, all of the fun went out of it.
Once afterwards I met a friend there at 3 am after we had finished our shifts - it was weird drinking in a pub at that time of the morning, was like the dead zone.
Great investigative work regarding the pub that used to be a house, that does indeed sound suspicious.
Wouldn’t that have been terrible if that did happen.
Nice to know that you enjoy your Guinness!
Hope you’re keeping well Ruth and that you enjoyed your camping trip and I do hope you found some treasure if you took your metal detector along. I would like to explore an abandoned house and find a full set of signed 1950s Topps baseball cards! 😄

      We have each other's back🤟🤝
I wonder if more then the drinking 'sprites' were there in the bar with you & friend that 🌃 himmm....
Wasn't much of a camping 'trip' -- I was in the woods with two big graveyards on either side of the woods but it was nice & quite. Didn't find any 'goodies' but it's fun trying.
The 1st graveyard is a big hill-- lot's of solar lights are by the headstones-- then woods-- then the other side is a big but pretty much forgotten graveyard & it's way older -- hence-- the families & friends have long past on.
I'll try just planting some seeds on some graves & see what happens -- Without a car they can't be watered unless it rains-- & it's a hike even getting dropped off at the food store. Himmm....
Do a German type of gardening maybe? (The German word for 'hill' is what it's called -- I think) You take dead bits of wood & leaves and soil & wet it along with hay on top & wet it -- then wait abit-- then plant your stuff in the hay. Maybe
some flower seeds would grow. It's just a thought.
Opps! I've got to charge the phone. Hope you have a wonderful day & the 'Kitty' sitting on his chair gives you some time off👻wink, wink

@@RuthShelton-ou4id so the cemeteries are that old that even the spirits have departed?
What a shame you didn’t find any valuables, here opposite my business. there is a very old house that is going to be pulled down next year, people suspect that they might find gold, because it was for foreign workers in the 1800s and they didn’t trust banks - they may have buried or hidden their gold under the floorboards or ground.
A colleague of mine has lived in that building for 42 years, now he’s in his 70s and has to find a new place.
Have you made any progress getting your coins graded? Sometimes they have coin conventions and fairs, it might be an idea to take some of your coins to one of these, often they will have graders there on site.
I’m glad to hear that you’re doing fine, and I do hope that you find some more treasures soon!
