    Thanks so much for the kind review! The tenting/tilting legs are actually included; the ones in our webshop are spares. As suggested, we'll release wireless keyboards. Enjoy your UHK!

    In case you’re still looking for a chair, I’ve had an Anonymous Ergo chair for years and it’s been great. Very adjustable, very solid. The seat cushion eventually lost some firmness (after many years of daily use), but you can buy a new seat section from them or just add a gel pad on top of the seat.

      @TheSAHDLife  3 місяці тому +2

      Good share, thanks! That chair has been on my radar for quite a while. I was recently sent a couple chairs one of which I reviewed. I will review another one soon here but I'd like to compare it versus some other top tier ones so... I haven't found my perfect chair yet, maybe that'll be it!

    Thanks for the look. I have never heard of this company. I am going to seriously consider it. Cheers! Also, I purchased a used Herman Miller chair from a local ad. It looks and feels like new and at a fraction of buying a showroom chair. My low back pain literally went away and I am on 5 years using it now and the chair still seems new.

      Thanks for watching! 👊 Whether it's this exact keyboard or another one, it just sure feels good to use the right tools for the job you know? I feel like a lot of keyboards haven't changed in 40 years... so to see some innovation and real thought being put into it, it's just awesome since so many of us spend SO much time there.
      Are you talking about the Aeron chair? My bud has that one and still loves it. I think you can even put a headrest on it if you need it... though I'm not sure I would. Good call about second-hand. I will keep my eyes peeled on marketplace!

      @TheSAHDLife Yes, the Aeron chair. I got it from a leasing company that rents furnished office space. Once lease is up, they either reuse the furniture or sell. That is how I got mine. $150. Such a good purchase for me. If I end up buying this keyboard I'll update you. Thanks!

    I’m a software engineer and, like you, I really like the MX Keys. I actually own the mini and full size versions. I looked at the UHK when i was making the jump this year to a split mechanical keyboard. The on-keyboard mouse options and thumb cluster look awesome.
    I ended up going with a budget option, the Royal Kludge RKS70, plus two laptop risers for (extreme) tenting, and I’m so glad I made this move. The UHK is definitely on my radar for when it’s time to upgrade though.

    • @TheSAHDLife
      @TheSAHDLife  3 місяці тому +2

      Not familiar with Royal Kludge! Would you buy it again? I didn't see any split keyboards from them on Amazon but I didn't dig too deep. Sadly I sold my MX Keys mini and I still miss it. I do enjoy my uhk still but sometimes when I'm gaming the 60% keyboard just seems a little too small. I think 75% would be The Sweet Spot. I think that's the one with the arrow keys and f Keys as well?

    Thanks for this review! I just got a UHK also, and I definitely recommend it.
    I also recommend the Herman Miller chair. I've used it for about 5 years now, and I can confidently say it's worth it.

      I was just so happy unboxing that UHK and setting it up... it's just nice to see the quality, level of detail, and thought put into it. What a refreshing experience that made me hopeful about straying away from the Logitech / Mac mass produced keyboards.

      @@TheSAHDLife Totally understand. I feel the same way! Nothing crazy, I do have a triple monitor setup though. I have two horizontal monitors stacked on top of each other for my "main" monitor (144Hz) and I have a side monitor that's vertical. A little unorthodox but it works great for me!

      Interesting to hear it's better made. I'd choose the UHK myself simply because you can get it without a wrist rest (they're ergonomically risky; wrists shouldn't be "on" anything while you're typing, and when you're not, you can stick your hands in your comfy lap)

      That's awesome! It's nice to hear from a happy customer even years later. Does the quality still feel good? The durability I mean? I've only had mine a couple months so I can't give a long term review. I'd love to hear more about what you think of it.
      And the desk... so I wanted a corner desk and found the following one on sale. It's a sit/stand electric desk too. I love how it looks though to be completely honest, I'm not sure if I like the corner angle yet. I'm used to having the keyboard closer to me without my elbows being on the table if that makes sense. I'm use to sitting at a flat desk AND this one doesn't go very low. It's fine. It's good for the price but I'm not sure I would recommend it yet. I've only had it a couple of weeks.

      @@TheSAHDLife - ah that's awesome. thanks for letting me know about the desk!
      So I checked when I first bought a UHK and I got the first version of it in Sep 2018. Took me a while to really get used to it but once I did and got all the key bindings I wanted in place I just can't ever go back to a normal keyboard again. I'm a software dev and am now totally useless programming on a normal laptop keyboard. Ha ha! I can do it but it's just soooo much more inefficient compared to using an external UHK.
      I got version 2 of the UHK in Nov 2020. What attracted me to that one is that you could swith out the key switches individually and also the backlighting. I still have the V1 keyboard that I keep as a backup. Both keyboards still work great and the keys are still very nice to type on. There are a few loose screws on the V1 keyboard (e.g. - where the modules plug in) but that's only because I haven't taken the time to do any maintenance and I was constantly carrying my keyboard around with me to/from work and while traveling. That V1 keyboard has been to Australia, the USA and Canada and keeps on tickin'!
      Thanks again for posting your review video and for letting me know about the desk!

    Interesting device, but I wonder how hard it would be to get used to. I use traditional plank style keyboards, and I move back and forth between my work laptop and my personal one frequently during a typical work day. As a touch typist it seems like I would be making mistakes all over the place.

    • @TheSAHDLife
      @TheSAHDLife  6 місяців тому +1

      I am right there with you. I think if you committed to this FULL time it would happen quite fast, but since I only use it a couple days of the week it's going a little slower for me. Surprisingly though I am finding I'm able to learn it and be quite fast while still retaining my speed on my laptop. So you can get good at both. I think if you use the plank style and your body doesn't complain, that's fine... but if you are feeling pain or pinches anywhere it might be worth considering a more ergonomic keyboard. It doesn't have to be this one but something that helps your alignment.

    But how could you type number as efficient as if you have a numpad?

    • @TheSAHDLife
      @TheSAHDLife  4 місяці тому +2

      Well, it's tricky... If you just hold a function key with your other hand you can basically create a number pad. It definitely will take time to get used to and probably isn't quite as fast or as natural feeling though. If my job required it I would probably have a separate Bluetooth number pad but I don't need it. Personally though I do miss arrow keys even though I have set them up on the keyboard it's just not the same. My perfect keyboard would definitely include arrow keys.

    I had to switch to an ergonomic mouse recently. I'm the type of person who would rather see what I'm doing than use a shortcut on the keyboard though. I don't even use the shortcuts you can set up in Davinci resoled. Concerning the expensive chairs--I'm not so sure, but now that they say sitting is the new smoking, I might be interested in a setup that allows me to be in a standing position. By the way, I'm still waiting on your teleprompter reveal! I'm about to start trying to figure out what you're using by pixel peeping your other videos! The only one I've seen that comes close is the Parrot Pro.

      It's funny, even just setting certain emojis as keyboard shortcuts saves me HEAPS of time. I use this one a lot 👊 so, it's just those little tiny time-saving things that I am starting to appreciate you know? And I might have to share some of my Resolve keyboard shortcuts as I have a few and they make editing a breeze!
      Sorry about the delay on the teleprompter video lol. I know... I didn't expect to make that 2nd video but I felt it was more important to make HOW to use one properly in that video series. Then life just gets busy and you know how it goes. It's on my agenda 🤣
