Thank you for the clean installation guide. Us GIS:ers must stick together. *I want to denote that it is important that you have either Java 8 or 11 installed (Either JDK or JRE). Since they are old versions, you need an Oracle-account to download which is for free.
Hi I tried following your guide but I get an error when trying to access GeoServer HTTP ERROR 503 Service Unavailable URI: /geoserver/ STATUS: 503 MESSAGE: Service Unavailable SERVLET: - what could be the problem. I am running Windows 11
Hi and thanks for the question. It could be any number of things! Have you checked the github issues to see if anyone else is having the same problems with that version of geoserver and Windows? Also, check the geoserver logs to get more information about where it is going wrong.
@@burdGIS I have tried the tomcat9 and. war installation procedure but I still gets a problem making geoserver start in Tomcat it wont start at all. I am at my wits end. Not sure why my laptop is not cooperating
Thanks for watching to the end Malik! This video is three years old and you'll be pleased to hear I've dropped any intro / outro splash screen nonsense

So nice of you! Thanks for watching Gerardo 🙂
Did you complete the tutorial on remote setup?
Do you mean for setting up in the cloud?
@@burdGIS yeah it would be great to have a walkthrough for that! Loved the video btw
Thanks. I've been playing around with AWS Lightsail recently. That might make a good candidate. Easier to set up than an EC2 instance.
