I love long WAN show, it takes me 3 days to get all the way through it because I have things to do but it's always a joy especially when y'all go on tangents just a lot of fun to listen to.
This just keeps getting better and better. I love Dan low-key telling Linus he's buying a large format printer. Notice Linus didn't say no, but instead suggested a Shetland scale horsey. Dan - we all heard Linus consent to the idea. He's even an active participant. He practically said - "Dan, 3D print me a Shetland pony lamp or it's your job". You know what to do Dan. We all heard him. Do iiiiiiit.
43:11 OMFG this is so funny, I worked at Bargain Bytes in Mission for a year. If Linus was a kid at the time, that was probably back when Bargain Bytes was run out of the owner's home garage. It was literally "a hole in the wall" back then because they didn't have people come inside the shop. You instead spoke to them through a window they installed in the side of the garage. I wonder if Geno realizes that young Linus has been to his shop!
I doubt anyone at LTT will ever read this, but as a disabled person I massively appreciate Linus and Luke's appreciation for the struggles we face. Not everyone does.
I am minimally disabled, and you're completely right. I rarely face serious struggles, but when I do, it's a good reminder of what others deal with on a daily basis.
@@JSerio1983 it's not a perfect solution, but account verification (send in a photo of your handicapped parking decal, or a doctor's letter) to enable the features might be a good compromise. My "disability" is being partially colorblind. Depending on the hues involved and the device screen, I can struggle to see red at all, as well as being unable to tell apart blue and purple, and green from yellow or red (depends on the hues). It really sucks in some games. I remember a friend asking me "why don't you ever get out of the AOE damage? There's literally a big red circle on the ground". I'm like "uh, can't see it!". Sure enough in the screenshot I could just make out the red circle, but no way I'm seeing that during fast paced action.
1:00:00 to the tetrising part: i remember way back when i was a kid, we wanted to make a camping holiday in france (from germany), so my father packed our volvo kombi at the time, chock full, including roof mounted carry case that we had for skis, and our dog. me my father, mother and my little brother and the dog... shortly after we crossed over into france, something in the motor broke, so we had to get towed and get our replacement car (due to my father having a kind ofinsurance due to the ADAC) and we should have gotten a kombi sized car as a replacement... well turns out we were not the only ones that had a breakdown that summer week in that area, because we got something in the ballpark of a VW Polo... at least it had 5 doors, and was not one of those 3 doors with movable seats to get in the back... so my father was tetrising for four hours, and somehow got everything except a camping grill and a package of butter into that car... he remembers it to this day as the most quit holiday drive he rememebrs, simply because no one was able to see anyone else. i was boxed in except a piece of the window the size of a switch, and a little opening to see through on my gameboy, my brother the same. the dog was the ehole drive between the legs of my mother in the front... no one enjoyed the drive exceptz my father XD also i think he won 500DM (ca. 250€) or so in bets that day, cause none of the guys that were at the car dealer for the replacement cars thought it possible that even half of the luggage would fit in that small car
As a 30 yr parts professional, I totally understand your wiper blade issues!! They are a nightmare now!! and that segment made me laugh so hard!! thank you!!
1:31:31 I did a work placement in high school for an electronics shop (component's, not tv's) they were still using 386's as their POS terminals when I was there in 2006. I went back in about 10 years later and they were still using the exact same machines. they had moved location twice since i was in high school, yet were still using the 386's for pos and inventory management.
If it works, they own the process, aren't dependent on an external service partner, and they aren't a large business that can justify commercial licence fees or development costs for that kind of thing, makes sense.
Hawkeye is used for leg before wicket in cricket, which is an ideal application because you don’t care where it landed, you care where it would’ve had the batter’s leg not been in the way.
1:32:00 @LinusTechTips Linus, emails aren't considered reliable and secure enough to have the same legal value as faxes, because fax transmissions are more direct (less bouncing between servers) and as such have a much better traceability than emails. Morever with physical faxes where you get the identity of the sending machine and of the receiving machine attached to the fax alongside the precise time and date of sending and reception. Electronic signature is meant to add a similar level of traceability to emails, but this isn't part of the core protocole nor of more mail services.
I was thinking the same for emails. That said there are still better ways. My mother just bought a house and I was there helping her along the way. Most companies use something like DocuSign along with email. They did have us send a lot of personal docs through email though which is quite concerning to me (probably illegal but like Luke said many companies don't really know better and have shit security that an 'expert' set up some time back).
What pisses me off on the Apple Arcade saga on AppleTV, it didn't prompt Linus for a pin/password to subscribe & charge his card... but to cancel the subscription & for Apple to not get paid anymore suddenly you need to re-authenticate for "Security reasons".
This is definitely one of those dark patterns. I can hear it already "oh the unsubscribe button is on a sensitive page," then why didn't you put the unsub button somewhere more accessible, like the subscribe button was? Just evil.
Honestly, i think there should be an additional verification step there for an AppleTV. Specifically for an AppleTV because they are generally shared devices that entire families and friends and visitors access. I wouldnt want my child or their doofus friend playing a "joke" by cancelling it. That said, it should be nice and simple to get to the button to cancel. It should also be easoly accessible within the App for the service. /Also that whole thing where for months it begged me to go on my iOS device to accept the terms and conditions or whatever when it is literally my only Apple product as i got it free when I signed up for internet back in 2018
@@88porpoise obviously they wanted people to potentially sub on your behalf or on accident, but never for that happen for unsub so that has extra security. The double standard is because greed
Hawkeye doesn't allow the broadcasters to ever show a side by side. To the viewer their accuracy is sub millimeter because that's what they'll overrule on in tennis, but real world error is somewhere around 50x what's implied.
Linus is correct Hawkeye is predicting the trajectory/impact point and is not 100% accurate. I remember when Hawkeye became allowed in tennis there was a presentation at a sport broadcasters conference where they basically said: "it is not 100%, but independent tests show it to be much more accurate than human referees. So we can live with the errors".
@@SierraLimaOscar It's pretty good in that regards, but to the average person who watches sport, they're generally not told this and assume the path shown is 100% accurate, and where there is, in fact, a degree of uncertainty. The origin isn't in tennis - it's in Cricket where it was used for LBW calls because umpires have to predict the balls trajectory and doing that with the player in front of the stumps takes a LOT of training.
The broadcaster has the option to show side by side but decide not to. Why blame Hawkeye for a broadcasters choice not to show side by side. SuperSport South Africa actually overlays Hawkeye over the actual image from a specific camera view
@@marcelsmit_rsa I could have been more clear, for tennis it is the case that you'll never see them side by side because you can actually compare the Hawkeye results directly with video footage. In cricket they can show it side by side for an LBW review because hitting a leg changes the trajectory which removes the direct comparison. Badminton functions like tennis in this case so I ignored the unrelated cricket use case.
@DAN I really hope you read this. You can fix your display scaling! Developer Options -> Minimum Width. Take note of the original value. Turn up the number, wouldn't recommend moving more than 50 at a time just in case systemui breaks itself. There is a threshold where some apps will assume they're on a tablet and act differently (notably Swiftkey which disables swipe to dismiss) but I've used this on lots of brands of androids. Granted, not Sony. Please let me know if this works for you so I can add that info to my repertoire!
Just came here from listening it in a podcast form to say that quarterly gpu video sounds awesome! It's exactly what we need when looking at upgrading/buying.
2 stories about stuffing TV’s: we once went out at 10PM on a Thursday and spontaneously bought a 55”. We drove a Nissan Sentra, and the only way we were able to get the tv back home was to leave 3 people at the store, take the tv home, and send someone back for the others. Another time a good friend of mine were trying to put a 65” in the back seat of a small sedan and managed to get it completely stuck in the door hanging out of vehicle (they didn’t listen to their wife when she said it wouldn’t fit). We had to take my mini van, cut through the box to get the TV out of their doorway, and haul it back to their house in my van. I’m familiar with the struggle😂
On the topic of ADA compliance. I never realized how bad our work sites were for handicapped people until I was training a coworker who was in a wheelchair. The buildings were really old, so they have a lot of steps and not enough space to retrofit ramps. So if you can't climb stairs our buildings are a long nightmare to navigate. The one site we go to has a flight of stairs out front to just get in the door. For a wheelchair user to get into that building, they need to go around to the building next door, take an elevator, go through 3 sets of doors (none of them had working open door buttons), and 2 long hallways. Just to get into the building that has a flight of stairs in front of the door.
@@jimmymcgill6778 i didnt say it was a good solution, microsoft is obviously in the wrong, just spreading the word that its easy to fix windows search. And for the record I like hamburgers but i dont like hotdogs.
I'm all for the quarterly update, but you probably don't want it to be exactly quarterly, but slightly more based on when cards are released (and then a month after that)
Speaking of helping Mom and Pop shops with IT work, I helped a gas station with its coffee and creamer orders by setting up a Excel spreadsheet that calculated all their costs. And if you don't remember how to use Excel there's plenty of tutorials that can help teach you in an afternoon.
Excel is pretty excellent to have at least a basic understanding of how to do a few costing functions, but I'd have to admit that knowing about the same level in Google Sheets now is similarly useful.
I’m excited for the Chromebook video. I’ve been saying for years that buying a decent Chromebook makes a great secondary laptop. Whenever I travel, I always take my Chromebook for the larger screen, full sized keyboard, and full web browser experience compared to just my smartphone.
Linus in a king bed is a comical thought. It’s like that toddler with their fresh “big kid” bed. I heard Linus plays hide and seek by climbing in his pillow case
Back when I worked with Apple Support a few years ago people unable to cancel subscriptions on their Apple TV was definitely one of the most embarrassing things to help with because it was so stupid. The ones with iPhones weren't too bothered even if it felt awkward, but the ones who got an Apple TV with no other Apple devices got understandably frustrated to have to download and install an .exe file to unsubscribe from something. I'm glad to see it's finally been changed.
I had the same thought the other day, I was ranting about GPU prices and my roommate just tells me to chill out,"aren't you tired of this yet" and i was like, yeah, I'm tired of getting mad.
21:20 Chromebooks are more "laptops" than laptops. They usually don't get very hot, thus it's easy to put them on your lap without burning yourself. Also their battery life is usually 8-10 hours. I'm down for GPU revisits every three months or so. I believe it would be quite valuable for the viewers. Just yesterday I was trying to find recent comparisons with the ARC A750, which is currently priced in my country right below the RX 6600 and also very close is the RTX 3050. However it's really hard to find if a year after A750's launch its drivers are cool or not...
I bought and am very satisfied with an A770. The drivers are pretty good now, although certain older games (Civ V is what I've ran into) won't run still. obviously I haven't compared them to the other cards though
I have an Asus 2 in 1 Chromebook since last summer that I bought used for 100€ (but launched back in 2021 for 330€). The touchscreen is great (it's an IPS type) and extra useful. And the battery lasts. It's a bit slow but it usually just needs a couple of seconds to catch up. I'm very satisfied with it.
eBay is pretty much a Chinese drop ship platform these days, sick and tired of having to check the "about seller" details to determine if I'm dealing with someone in my country or not. Item location is pretty much never the same as seller location these days. Small items will often come very late with foreign mail labels even though they are listed as being located in my country (sometimes appear to be within driving distance😂)
I'm grateful that eBay still continues to be THE place for buying/selling USED goods, particularly niche parts that you can't just buy off facebook marketplace.
If eBay would let you filter by seller location not just item location most of the china sellers would be out of business in a month. Even when they claim the item is in my country it still gets shipped from china. Pricing is now unreliable too, with a UK seller generally the price on the listing is what I pay, The price can change during checkout often 2-3 times and PayPal will show a different price, one price on eBay then a different price + vat during checkout, then a different price again when you go back to check the listing later. I checked PayPal yesterday because I need to return a regulator for a motorcycle bought on eBay, listing price was £16.41 free p&p PayPal say the sale was for £19.69 so somewhere during checkout 20% was added even though there was no suggestion during checkout that VAT was applicable. Pretty sure some sort of VAT scam is going on with these overseas sellers.
A week I didn't listen live and I got reminded of when I had The Simpsons internet. A blast from tech past. Yes, it actually featured The Simpsons graphically. I think it was officially licensed, but it was so long ago and dial up. I don't remember how I found it, got it or why it ended. It was actually not a bad isp, lol.
2:28:35 vision pro use cases: - As luke said, Monitor on Planes, Coffee Shops, or Libraries etc. - 3D design work - TV replacement, whilst there's no natove apps for netflix or youtube you can watch full screen in the browser and download them on your macbook. Great if you don't want to have a big TV or you don't have space for it (Yes it's one monitor for your mac, but you can supplement with vision pro/ipad apps, like teams and safari)
50:00 Don't forget that sorting by price typically removes the majority of the results. 1:03:00 The Issue I've had with 'bargain' TV's hasn't been with the picture quality, it has been with the "Smart TV software". I have a fairly new Insignia QLED and the picture looks good, but They've had to send a tech out multiple times because the Fire TV 'smart TV' part kept crashing. Even when the Fire TV part works, it's slow as dirt, so I just connected a Roku and 'abandoned' the Smart TV functionality. However, even now I'll still get flashes of black screen when watching. It's really annoying because I have an Insignia LCD TV from 2009 and a Dynex from 2010 and they still work.
Dan, I'd like to take a moment and just say that I appreciate the nearly imperceptible "but am I joking?" tone of that descent into existential crisis.
So glad to be blessed with a four hour WAN show. I worked a double shift on Saturday (Europe so that's when the VOD goes live) and this was a great reward.
I see one major problem with the sony badmitton center. Dbrand is not involved. If you are going to do any extremely over the top projects especially those that require a six person IT team for your one staff member, dbrand must be involved. I am pretty sure that is a rule written in stone, and if it isn't can I borrow a stone and a chizel?
to be fair, I'm from Italy, and if I search 'sleep' (literally wrote in english) on my laptop, the first thing to pop up is the sleep-shut down setting
When I moved into my current apartment 4 years ago, I ordered all new furniture, as well as an 82" Samsung QLED TV. Costco delivered and set up the TV, though that just meant putting on the legs, not wall-mounting it. I put my existing 55" TV in my bedroom. While the 55" TV hadn't seemed small to me when I got it, having the 82" TV in my living room made my bedroom TV seem too small. l also justified upgrading because I struggled to read text on the screen without my glasses. So I gave the 55" TV to my sister and ordered another 82" Samsung TV for my bedroom. Now that TV was not a QLED and was actually $1,000 cheaper than the one in my living room. But I ended up also buying a new dresser that was wide enough for the TV to fit on. But there is a downside to having 82" TVs in both my living room and bedroom. How do I justify upgrading to a 110" TV like Linus has?
Imagine if Nvida released a 5080 that was as powerful or more than a 4090 at $699 (the same as the 1080 ti was) with at least 16gb of vram. I think they would probably sell more consumer GPUs than they have in years outside of the small crypto booms.
About GPU reviews. When I'm buying I'm interested in a lot of details. When I'm not, I just want to get a sense for price/performance relative to similar cards and the same card previous gen.
I've typed "power" into the search on every fresh install to turn off sleep since Windows 7 and just change the power plan there. Though the way things are going, it might stop working that way any day now. 🙃

@@opfipip3711 assuming that it is true, then not by much. You wouldn't know if the password is 8 characters long with 10 backspace pressed, or 15 characters with 3 backspace. So you still need to search the 8-18 character space
I always enjoying listening to your show while getting things done around the house on the weekend. I feels like your show keeps me up to date while dealing with kid laundry and drywall repair.
@@TimI1S maybe,i dunno, hire someone to work on weekends? They have literally HUNDREDS of employees, Linus alone pockets millions of dollars a year. Stop shilling for them…they are a media company, this is a product, and I’m complaining about a lack of feature. When people complain about eg. Nvidia only putting 8gb on the 4060, do you also reply with “dO yOU wAnT To pAY FoR tHE NAnd?”?
@@TimI1S I don’t see why it’s a false equivalency. If you could elaborate on that. To the other point, about hiring just for it, you’re missing the point. It’s not my job (or yours) to solve the problem. It’s the entrepreneur. That is why people start companies.
The thing that fixed Windows search for me was to do a registry change to only allow local searches Been using that since Windows 10 was released and never looked back. Wish that wasn't needed though! Windows has been getting progressively more frustrating to use, been trying to get peeps to switch to Linux but many of my clients are olderfolks who can no longer learn a completely different operating system let alone a new office suite :(
@6:24 I think the main mistake was including 7900XT over 7900XTX: there's just one flagship, and it's the XTX that competes with the 4080, not the XT. That being said, 7700XT is probably better over 7900XTX...
Funny thing about COWs, we had to start referring to them as WOW (workstation on wheels) after a patient misheard and thought the care team was referring to them as a bovine.
Do not use the switch flash cart unless you're dumping your own games on it and then keeping that game. If you return or resell that game and Nintendo sees two copies of the same serial game online at the same time *BOTH* Switch accounts could get banned. Also, if you are buying switch games physically to play online, do not under any circumstances buy used and also make sure the new game you bought is sealed. Otherwise you're running a risk that you're buying a game someone has dumped and you could have your account banned because THEY did that.
My dad bought a huge circular garden table once, then realised it wouldn't fit in his car. He managed to convince someone in the car park with a van to take the table and follow him home with it, in exchange for £20.
@@OliverTurnerMScWhere do you get that they had a month? They work on multiple projects at once and probably only had a few days to a week. They also want to test things as close together as possible (kinda defeats the point of retesting the cards otherwise).
Regarding [3:52:25] about buying stuff at the LAN center - you could always keep the items in the back of the shop and have it as an item which you have to ask about to buy. Kinda like a hidden menu. Or possibly bring them out only during the lan events. Not sure if this would be too much effort but I think that's a kinda cool idea
Pretty sure they'll have merch at the LAN's, but I think it to be a good idea to run the pro shop as just being targeted to the sports side of things. The 'hidden menu' could be an issue regarding it being a different company and the handling inventory and working out profits, but I'm sure they could figure something out if members enquire often enough.
@1:00:40 you were in international shipping electronics category for some reason, that category wouldn't include many television sets due to their weight.
Who the hell browses Amazon by category anyway?? I always search for what I’m looking for and if I don’t easily find the result I want I tweak the search entry, for a TV like in his example I’d instantly be searching 65” TV or what ever size I wanted and if I specifically wanted an oled then I would search for 65” oled tv etc
@@oxfordsparkyI've learned to search Amazon by putting what I want into the search bar and hoping it works but many of us grew up using categories on sites to at least narrow down the search results (most sites don't seem to work like that anymore). Everyone's brains work a bit different, some people find it much easier to narrow down categories like your going through a forum, looking for the right sub-forum.
I think as Chief Vision Officer linus should have veto the decision to include 6700xt/7700xt. Because anyone can easily understand you need to include the price competitor card from amd. 4080S - 7900xtx. 4070tiS - 7900xy. 4070S - 7800xt. Whatever else you include these three needs to be there. I dont know why floatplane people did not check this and provided a shoutout.
Erm, nope. Price competitive is certainly valid but so is performance competitive, using your logic you could easily over spend on a product if you are wanting to achieve a certain result.
Man Linus I gotta say I used to not watch Wan show cause I thought it was ridiculous how long it is but now I look forward to it. I cast it on TV and listen as I do things around the house. I just laugh occasionally as I'm doing things. It's well worth watching.
Yes this episode is long but I love waking up on Saturday's and watching it (I'm in the UK). This WAN show was so much fun & had me bursting out laughing several times.
why the hell would you want Arc? its weak overpriced shit. Just buy a 20 series and youll get way better performance of the same price or less. Anyone with that issue deserves it
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 because we don't want Nvidia on principle? We want competition, hence we buy the newcomer. Also arc costs about the same as the US MSRP if u converted 1:1, whereas Nvidia is like USD to EUR + 30%-40% of the price.

@@krisc1684 It's down to efficiency. Not everyone is interested in every topic and I only want to listen to the ones I am interested in, the rest of my time I will spend doing something else. Based on the amount of likes that timestamp guy receives, and the fact that LTT just copy and paste his timestamps on Monday morning into the description, it's fair to say people want them. I assume the main problem is that WAN is recorded after hours on a Friday night, so there's no one at the company to even make timestamps until Monday morning. Most of us watch the show at the weekend so it's an unfortunate setup. Solution: Pay someone overtime like Luke and Dan already are to make timestamps as the show progresses and publish them with the video.

I love long WAN show, it takes me 3 days to get all the way through it because I have things to do but it's always a joy especially when y'all go on tangents just a lot of fun to listen to.
Takes me a few days as well. But timewise it works out better for me this way and before i know it, it's Friday again.
I listen to this show basically everyday at work and I’m catching up rn from November and I’ve watched like 15 or so in a week or two💀
Dan needs to be more than just producer. I want some more Dan rants! This is the best WAN in ages
Wait I skipped through where are the dan rants?
@@John.._ 4 hours 8 mins in
just glorious - thanks for the time stamp @@aetherkiller
Just starting to watch, don't get my hopes up too high 😬
Dan rants could be a show on it's own! But I also think Dan throws his thoughts in just the right amount - timing of a comedic genius!
Haven’t missed a wan in years. This was one of the best. I so desperately need more Dan Rants™️
Next we can have Luke Moods ™️

@@JSerio1983 yeah true. idk how to correct for that.
Some of my nearest and dearest live with those challenges, which makes me greatly appreciate when I come across mindful others, too.
1:00:00 to the tetrising part: i remember way back when i was a kid, we wanted to make a camping holiday in france (from germany), so my father packed our volvo kombi at the time, chock full, including roof mounted carry case that we had for skis, and our dog. me my father, mother and my little brother and the dog... shortly after we crossed over into france, something in the motor broke, so we had to get towed and get our replacement car (due to my father having a kind ofinsurance due to the ADAC) and we should have gotten a kombi sized car as a replacement... well turns out we were not the only ones that had a breakdown that summer week in that area, because we got something in the ballpark of a VW Polo... at least it had 5 doors, and was not one of those 3 doors with movable seats to get in the back...
so my father was tetrising for four hours, and somehow got everything except a camping grill and a package of butter into that car... he remembers it to this day as the most quit holiday drive he rememebrs, simply because no one was able to see anyone else. i was boxed in except a piece of the window the size of a switch, and a little opening to see through on my gameboy, my brother the same. the dog was the ehole drive between the legs of my mother in the front... no one enjoyed the drive exceptz my father XD
also i think he won 500DM (ca.
Dont fix what aint broken

Hawkeye doesn't allow the broadcasters to ever show a side by side. To the viewer their accuracy is sub millimeter because that's what they'll overrule on in tennis, but real world error is somewhere around 50x what's implied.
It's also why people have problems when it's used in Cricket for LBW
When he called out second monitor, I died. This is true. Not paying heavy attention but enjoying every minute.
Please let me know if this works for you so I can add that info to my repertoire!

the return of the 4 hour long Wan show let's gooooooooo
First world problems.
Fixing window search is pretty easy, it's just a registry edit to remove the ability of Windows to phone home to Bing

2:01:40 - Apple TV moment and on 2:08:35 the topic resumes, 2:15:58 resumes again
I also heard Linus shadow bands people in the comment section he doesn’t like or agree with
Back when I worked with Apple Support a few years ago people unable to cancel subscriptions on their Apple TV was definitely one of the most embarrassing things to help with because it was so stupid.
Yeah it's like people don't understand your upset because you're tired of it.
I love this trend of smaller teams making games more focused on fun.
And yes, more RTS games are needed
21:20 Chromebooks are more "laptops" than laptops. They usually don't get very hot, thus it's easy to put them on your lap without burning yourself. Also their battery life is usually 8-10 hours.
I'm down for GPU revisits every three months or so. I believe it would be quite valuable for the viewers. Just yesterday I was trying to find recent comparisons with the ARC A750, which is currently priced in my country right below the RX 6600 and also very close is the RTX 3050. However it's really hard to find if a year after A750's launch its drivers are cool or not...
@@pdblouinevery Chromebook I have used has shitty input devices. As in horrendous keyboard and trackpad and then as you say sub par screens
The touchscreen is great (it's an IPS type) and extra useful. eBay is pretty much a Chinese drop ship platform these days, sick and tired of having to check the "about seller" details to determine if I'm dealing with someone in my country or not.
And Amazon has turned itself into another eBay, so the same applies to shopping there.
@@the_wiki9408 This is just not the case. Amazon is the market leader, eBay copies Amazon. Not the other way around.
If eBay would let you filter by seller location not just item location most of the china sellers would be out of business in a month.
Even when they claim the item is in my country it still gets shipped from china.
Pricing is now unreliable too, with a UK seller generally the price on the listing is what I pay,
The price can change during checkout often 2-3 times and PayPal will show a different price, one price on eBay then a different price + vat during checkout, then a different price again when you go back to check the listing later.
@@prawny12009 I order on eBay all the time, rarely had anything show up from China, if it does take 2 weeks or more I usually return it.

2:28:35 vision pro use cases:
- As luke said, Monitor on Planes, Coffee Shops, or Libraries etc.
- 3D design work
- TV replacement, whilst there's no natove apps for netflix or youtube you can watch full screen in the browser and download them on your macbook. Great if you don't want to have a big TV or you don't have space for it
(Yes it's one monitor for your mac, but you can supplement with vision pro/ipad apps, like teams and safari)
Re: what monitor is WAN Show on? None, it’s usually audio only while I’m out doing work and need something to listen to. :)
to be fair, I'm from Italy, and if I search 'sleep' (literally wrote in english) on my laptop, the first thing to pop up is the sleep-shut down setting

2:14:10 we can see your hand pressing the buttons. It would be feasable to count the key presses and get your password that way. You should assume it has been leaked
They said many times that they always include fake letters and fake movement when typing any password on stream
@@eldronado even so, the complexity of brute-forcing that password has (probably?) just dramatically decreased.
Guys, the video is 4:27:20 hours long... You need to put timestamps! Giant media conglomerate, stop relying on fan made timestamps. Just get it done!
It shouldn't be that hard right?
Do YOU want to work on a weekend when your schedule is m-f?
@@TimI1S maybe,i dunno, hire someone to work on weekends? They have literally HUNDREDS of employees, Linus alone pockets millions of dollars a year. Stop shilling for them…they are a media company, this is a product, and I’m complaining about a lack of feature.
When people complain about eg. Nvidia only putting 8gb on the 4060, do you also reply with “dO yOU wAnT To pAY FoR tHE NAnd?”?
@@alphatango21 dope false equivalents. But also like…they going to hire someone just for timestamps? lol
Windows has been getting progressively more frustrating to use, been trying to get peeps to switch to Linux but many of my clients are olderfolks who can no longer learn a completely different operating system let alone a new office suite :(
15:55 didn't LTT do FPS/dollar charts for an entire system around the 20 series Super cards?
I am so glad that you all have Alex and Jake as actual car people on your channel now
@6:24 I think the main mistake was including 7900XT over 7900XTX: there's just one flagship, and it's the XTX that competes with the 4080, not the XT. That being said, 7700XT is probably better over 7900XTX...
Funny thing about COWs, we had to start referring to them as WOW (workstation on wheels) after a patient misheard and thought the care team was referring to them as a bovine.
I imagine similar things have happened with SoB (Short of Breath).
Or, and here's a better idea, stop supporting Nintendo. They are a garbage company and should rot.
Effectively killing the used cartridge market, which is the whole reason I bought them in the first place.
Nintendo seems to hate their players so much
I'm thinking Nintendo are going to get rid of the cartridge games at this point tbh
Way to go Nintendo
My dad bought a huge circular garden table once, then realised it wouldn't fit in his car. He managed to convince someone in the car park with a van to take the table and follow him home with it, in exchange for £20.
About the 7900xtx, maybe include the reasoning why you don't include it in the video, as a compromise.
Also, they had a month to test the comparison cards (not the super cards) so why did he blame over working staff to include more cards?
It sort of sounds like they got lazy and the problem that caused them to stop making videos for a time is still there. Kind of sad to be fair
@@oxfordsparkyBut why not use the category? Because they are useless, as demonstrated...
That Flanders joke was pure gold 😂
I also loved the 10xx series launch and especially the pre-amble with the riddles
Yes this episode is long but I love waking up on Saturday's and watching it (I'm in the UK). This WAN show was so much fun & had me bursting out laughing several times.
Intel Arc not working properly on AMD systems and older AMD systems would be a nice followup
Huh? I have a friend who runs a 3700x and a750 and is fine
why the hell would you want Arc? its weak overpriced shit.
Hearing them talk about Q sys made my heart happy. I’ve installed a lot of q sys systems and it’s amazing what you can do
Luke should just go back to the Pokewalker and Soul Silver 😂
so, so good. Thank you guys for entertaining me while I do laundry every week.
LOL @ 5090 costing $2K damn bro the 4090 costs that now here in Gougelandastan (NZ) so I'm picking the 5090 will be $4~500 more plunketts here
When the team is in a weird, fun mood, it makes a good show great. Really enjoyed whatever energy was fueling this show. I know its not something you can just do, so it makes it kinda special.
Okay guys. Lets be honest.
Your company has enough resources to make some timestamps for a podcast.
Technically they have LMG clips so
@@krisc1684 It's down to efficiency.
If it's just so easy- why don't you do it?
My guys every podcast on this planet does timestamps.
@@krisc1684 yes exactly. Wanting to have some timestamps on a 4,5 hours podcast is definitely because my brain ist poisoned.
Not because they could do it, but just don't give a flying f.
I have a plug-in hybrid Kia Sorrento and I also do 90 percent of my driving on electric! The 32 mile EV range is more than enough to get the kids to school and go to the grocery store. I've loved it so far!
Very cool show
for the labs site and performance graphs. they should be interactive and able to check specific points and comparison of models.
yay long WAN!
I have been watching this stream both eyes glued... I am usually gaming but was just drawn to the convo this WAN show. Good show as always.
Tech company cant do timestamps?
First thing i do when i format Windows, I set the Registry key that turns off Web Search in Start...
"stick a thing in a hole and something pops out" Luke 2024 😆
Dan losing it is what makes this the best podcast of 2024.
No timestamps, no watchey
ditto i like to skip to topics interesting to me
@@CyberComputers-r9ono true wan show fan has ever said that
59:05 "what even is this show!?" LMFAO! 🤣👍
Bring back Scrapyard wars
They said they're working on one for this year
they cant do it very easily...theyre recognized everywhere and di almost everything they could at the time, the markets just now stabilized enough to even support trying it...but its coming
3:34:00 the only thing that could make that cooler would be if you are in a co-op game, you can share notes with your friends
Really bad reason for the lack of 7900 XTX. If relevancy is any consideration then 7700 XT has no business being on the chart.
18:55 A quarterly GPU update? I’m totally down for that!
Water-cooled potato computer?
Linus has finally lost it XD
I'll be mashing the click button on that as soon as it's released.
1:58:35 what are you talking about Linus? Priuses have already been rolling around when GM was still trying to figure out its combustion engines. In fact, Trump was already president when the first Bolt came out.
In what world did GM invent the PHEV market?
Just gonna say, I run a 980Ti and a 6700k on a 1440P monitor, and I have no trouble playing games turning the details down, borderlands 3, GTA5, anno 1800, Battlebit, Battlefield 2042, all perfectly playable with close to 100 FPS most of the time, PC gaming isnt expensive if you look at older hardware.
I did exactly That, I had a 4790 and a 1070. I bought a 6800 for about $320 usd and a b550 and 5600x3d bundle from Microcentre for $200.
4:11:35 Fun fact when I had an Xperia Z5 Premium IT HAD the option to switch the position of the back button (Android 6 Marshmallow and 5 Lollipop) so they took the effort to remove it afterwards
