Did we really expect any kind of recognizable logic to come out of Sean Hannity's mouth?
No
How ‘bout MAGAs lose their right to vote. Also level of education and understanding of constitutional republic should come before age IDs
Hannity and his supporters are devoid of intelligence and logic.
Hannity very biblical.... the (fat) snake in the garden of eden.
Yes He's right the DAVID PUNKMAN democrats are wrong.
ID should be free and available without hassle for one
Then how would the south maintain segregation? We have to be considerate of Republicans' feels

I had to show ID to get my voter registration card, why should I have to show my ID again when I go vote?

That would be a reasonable solution to the problem that they present, but this isn't about finding a solution, this is about voter suppression.

These fools know damn well that you need ID to get on the damn voter rolls to begin with
And when you show up to vote, how do we ensure you are the person that registered? If only there was a way for all of us to identify ourselves.

@@baugh3162 True. So that's all I should need to exercise my right to bear arms too... right?
Did you know that in some areas of the United States non-citizens can vote on certain agendas in certain elections!?!? Or are you just a parrot that repeats everything you hear on David Pukeman
@@ricardocabeza6006 Actually, in 2020 I had my voting place told me I already voted, which I did not. They brought someone over and I showed my ID, and it was all straightened out no problem (no one voted for me, was a weird mix-up where I unknowingly randomly lived in the same small town as my uncle). So yes, a signature is quite effective, and IF in the extremely rare case someone did vote pretending to be you or another issue pops up, then yes the ID would be a good backup measure, but it doesn't need to be the ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT.
You have to prove your id to register to vote. So once you've registered, you've already proven your citizenship.
Nooo, if you're born in the U.S. You're already a U.S. citizen.
@K9010 then u would have to present a birth certificate either way and that might be a difficulty for some

Which is unconstitutional, if you paid for your ID that is.
Sounds like you’re in a Republican district.
The people whose state doesn't require it think it's very ...racist. I mean asking them to have an ID. I don't really get it. Why not?
@@carrieohio Because there can be little things attached to it to surpress voting. For example, in at least one state they had a system where you needed to use the same piece of ID that you used to register to vote when you go to vote, which is something that people may innocently get wrong. Why wouldn't an alternate valid piece of ID be acceptable?
@@neilbiggs1353 that's not what's strange. I can't take Hannity, but I do hear a lot of leftists saying requiring ANY form of ID is racist. I have never in my life heard any black person here say they have a problem with it. It's kind of just normal life and voting practice here. You're saying you've never heard leftists saying asking for ID to vote is racist.
Hannity is Pathetic!

Bro there’s definitely possible consequences of not having ID during voting. Sure hannity is biased, but no IDs sound like they could raise reasonable concerns to the integrity of voting.
I live in Texas and every time i have ever voted i had to show my ID.
What just your Driver's license should be enough or just a non-drivers license!
In Floriduh too.
@tradde11 I'm from the Netherlands and everyone has an ID here, it's mandatory and I don't see the problem with that.
The issue is GOP also defunding dmvs and restricting the number of them in a state or county that makes it near impossible for someone to reach them during business hours to get a non license ID.
The post office have something similar but not everyone knows about it and not everywhere have a post office within walking distance.
If you want to make this easy, best way is to equip post offices with the equipment to make usps photo id on the spot for like a dollar or two to cover material cost.
A legitimate citizen of that state can get a state id.

That's actually an idea, we should limit our carb intake, lots of calories
So you're saying we need national ID free to all citizens
Ofc not! Because this isn't about having principles or actually believing in election integrity, all they want is to suppress the vote.
Why America doesn't already have this is beyond me. AFAIK every other country has national ID systems.
Yeah and also a better system to get them.
@@TheCaniblcat They operate on the idea that "government doesn't work" which is kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Since they blame government dysfunction on "government doesn't work" rather than because incompetent people are leading it nothing gets fixed.

When I vote they compare my signature to my voter registration form. The only time I had a hard time was the poll worker kept misspelling my name. Despite the fact my sister with the same name last name had no problem.

Why can't you just use a government issued ID to vote? We don't use specific IDs to buy alcohol or tobacco. We just use a government issued ID 🤷♂️
You have been misinformed, I've never heard of a specific voter ID unless you are referring to a voter registration card.
@@Elephant-mq6us I'm not misinformed. This is what republicans are insisting on, to confuse people. And you've made my point.
You can, but not everyone has a government issued ID. The reality is, there are American Citizens who struggle to secure a state ID, for various reasons. It could be that they simply can not spare the $20+ to get one or renew, and for others it could be no birth certificate and/or funds to get a copy. Life is very different for many, not everyone grows up the same.
Putting those things to the side, there is another part of this ID thing.
For example, it's election day, you lost your ID and aren't allowed to use your college ID to vote, but if you were an NRA member that ID would've sufficed. 🤔
I'm not against Voter ID, I support it. But if ID is required in order for us to exercise our right to vote, then there should be no financial obstacles or lack of access to resources in order for us to acquire acceptable voting identification.
And this is not an issue that only affects a certain group of Dem voters. This is an issue for anyone on both sides that struggle financially, that grew up in the system or in the streets, that are old with outdated IDs, etc.
IDs and documents needed to obtain an ID should be free and easily accessible. Voting is every citizens right and shouldn't be restricted the way it currently is.
Many struggle to understand how it's possible for anyone to not have an ID, that just means you were more fortunate than others.
Homeless citizens should be allowed to vote. Ever see a state ID without an address? I live in Chicago and if you don't have a birth certificate, proof of address, money and a couple other things....you're not getting an ID.
Ok, Sean. Tell you what. I am an old, disabled woman, can't drive, and live over 50 away from the nearest DMV.
What time will you be here to pick me up?
... buying beer, vape, or cigarettes... those aren't a right...
voting is a right... plain... simple...
So you're saying I shouldn't need an ID to buy a firearm. Got it.
I have no problem requiring an ID to vote as long as acquiring that ID is absolutely free if required to vote.
Even the most impoverished people in this country have an ID. Fun fact, an ID is required for social welfare programs.
Hannity doesn't realize you have to present documents when you register to vote.
Cool story. So how do we ensure the people voting are the same people that registered? If only there was some type of identifying document for us to have...
@@ricardocabeza6006 people barely turn out to vote once. In order to steal a vote you would have to know the person or at the very minimum their full legal name and address. Then be able to forge their signature pretty damn well, like nearly alike. Then you would either have to go wait in a long ass line to vote as them and if you are a citizen wait twice to put in your own vote as well and hope you don't get the same poll worker or that they don't remember you. If you do it by mail you then have to hope they either live with you or used to and haven't changed their address and if they did change their address have their mail in ballot sent out then hope you can intercept it before they see it themselves, and if you manage to do that you then have to fill it out and again match their signature and send it back along with yours. All that to steal 1 vote, let me ask who in the name of back flipping Jesus would do that?
@@LegendMkr7 People do barely turn out to vote once. In 2020, 66% eligible voters turned out. Meaning there was 75 million more votes available. It’s middle to lower class citizens with full time jobs, and families that would be affected by voter id laws. These same people also happen to be the ones who should be worried most about who’s president. We should try to make it easier, not harder for them to vote.
So the people with full time jobs, where a form of ID is required when filing their I-9 with their employer, will be affected by voter ID laws?
How about, if they want us all to have a voter ID, just mail us one

Such a wonderful dismantling of those fraudulent arguments. I appreciate this very much.
Why is needing an ID to vote in America considered controversial?
Im Irish, i cant vote unless i show up with an ID. Not needing to prove who you are seems kinda reckless. How do you stop ppl from voting multiple times?
It violates the constitution to impose poll taxes on us, and since ID's cost money it falls under that purview.
The 24th amendment to our constitution prohibits the use of poll taxes to vote -- and requiring us to pay for voting IDs would violate that. If these IDs were free and easy for citizens to obtain (including homeless, penniless, and jobless), then there really wouldn't be much of a problem. But that would defeat the true purpose -- to limit who gets to vote.
@@DaemonJaxBut even the homeless must be a legal U.S. citizen. How else would u prove that without a birth certificate?
@DaemonJax We don't use "voter IDs" in Ireland. We just show up with a driving license or passport etc, you just need some form of official photo ID.
I have to imagine it's the same in all countries. I just can't understand how you can avoid voter fraud if ppl can vote without having an ID.
Hannity, the ultimate simpleton
To say it another way is "you may NOT vote if you have no ID." That's unconstitutional.
To say it another way is "you may NOT vote if you cannot prove citizenship." That's constitutional.
Yes it is constitutional. If you can't prove who you are, then you don't have the right to vote. If you are a legal citizen, then show up with the necessary documents and you can vote.
The problem with the Republican bills to require an ID is that they severely limit the type IDs that can be used. E.g. They do not accept student IDs, Work IDs nor an even a voter registration card but they do accept Hunting license or fishing license. These bills specifically eliminate IDs that most minorities are able to easily obtain while expanding the acceptance of IDs that conservatives typically have. The bills specifically are designed to disenfranchise the young and minorities. Pass a fair voter ID law with a large list of acceptable Ids and it will be accepted by everybody.
Minorities have IDs and are fully capable of providing an ID for themselves. Stop being a bigot. Stop thinking less of minorities. It's disgusting.
@@ricardocabeza6006 Clearly you either didn’t read the post , you lack reading comprehension skills, or you are purposely being misleading by claiming something is in the post that is clearly not there. In my country you do indeed need an ID to vote. But the Government wil issue one already at birth. The rest of your life you have to renew it like every ten years. The procedures are in place, simple as to go buy a bread.

Why don't you need an ID to buy a gun, Hannity?

So there is no age requirement for voting?
Very well put, David. Should be a nationwide campaign ad.
Happy Friday!
I literally can’t remember the last time I had to show ID to purchase alcohol …..
It's not a legal requirement to have an ID to buy beer. It's just illegal to sell it to a person under 21--with or without an ID.
I’m confused, because in Ohio I’ve always had to have my ID to vote… why do the right keep acting like this doesn’t happen?
That's like 👍 being drafted at 18, vs

Voting should be as easy as buying a gun
If ID is required to vote then they should be free to obtain. In Alabama they're about $40.
Alabama offers a free voter ID... Details of how to obtain one are available on the Alabama Secretary of State website. Stop spreading misinformation.
This is exactly what's wrong with you Marxists, you don't care a bit about your country. You all just want free stuff that you the taxpayer have to pay 10x over for. Have you seen how irresponsible the government is with money? What costs you 40 dollars will instead cost 400 dollars in taxes. Of course it's not about the money, it's about being able to rig elections for the communist party.
So, maybeeee, need some kind of ID to buy firearms? Idk?! Lol
You mean like the law already requires?
Every legal scholar that has ever lived wants voter I.D.!
Your signature is your legally binding 'ID'

I been showing my driver license in Michigan since 18yrs old every time I have vote I am 61 years old now
So if a non citizen has a license and votes with id, isn't that still illegal?
You still have to register to vote. You don't just show up and give a name and ID and they give you a ballot.
Most states also have resident and non resident licenses.
I believe if the government is going to request an ID to vote, then they should provide the ID
Buying beer is not a fundamental right. Voting is.
Hannity nor the other old men he was talking to needs an ID to buy beer. Senior citizens don't get asked for an ID. I'm 30 and I don't get asked for an ID most of the time.
My grandmother wasn't born in a hospital and a birth certificate doesn't exist for her
Thank you for saying this David. You are completely right. We choose to buy substances. Some people are denied alcohol due to DUI.
Who says you don't need ID to vote?
In Connecticut I have to show my drivers license to vote. Have so for years...
You need an ID to register to vote
Right off the bat, I hate the "ID for alcohol or tobacco" argument because there is no law that it's required. Some establishments do have a policy in which they ID everyone, but many places where I buy alcohol don't ask me for ID because I'm clearly over 21
Could it be possible that requiring an ID actually hurts republican voters?
It could, but it also could be that most of the Republican voters who don't have ID live in already safe and deep red areas.
There is a very simple response, when you REGISTER to vote that is when you identify yourself.
Every state I’ve lived in requires a state voter id or a driver’s license
As a german, you dont need an id to vote? Wtf. Ok we have to have an id at age 14, but still how do you know the person who is voting is the person and not someone else?
Here in Canada, we are sent a note to OUR ADDRESS to vote. When we go to the polls, we have to show an ID with the right address.
You have to identify yourself in order to register to vote. When voting the reason ID isn’t required is because the people who count the votes check your registration status before your vote counts. Only registered voters votes count. So they’ve already ID’d themselves when registering. The issue is that people who help at the polls are volunteers. So little to no training is required. Having someone check IDs at the door would require some level of training that isn’t in the budget for this type of stuff. It’s hard enough to get volunteers in a lot of places in order to make the elections run as it is. So now having this additional burden of having someone who can identify fake IDs or things like that adds a whole new problem to the mix.
@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 in addition to poll tax being straight up unconstitutional. Most American right wingers don't read past "shall not be infringed".
@@SteefPip who are you kidding? They don’t read. 😂
Well, the main thing is that each person who can vote is recorded (as in it's a matter of record -- the voter rolls), and each person can only vote once. That's actually checked, and if there's a problem it's investigated. Problems don't really happen often. Yeah, sometimes people vote for dead spouse or whatever, but it doesn't happen a lot.
Life Liberty and the pursuit of getting drunk is a constitutional right ???? Kavenau should be all over this
So by that logic you're only asking for voter ID if they look pretty young
Voter ID is unnecessary and a waste of time! studies prove noncitizen voting isn't pervasive--heck, minuscule would be an understatement.
So you're saying studies prove that the voter ID requirement that's been in place for decades works. So why do you want to change the law and abolish voter ID?
Have always had to have ID to vote. Where have you been? What century?
Am I wrong or did Sean Hannity say you need an “idea” to buy a six pack of beer, a jewel pod, and a pack of cigarettes?
Besides, I don't usually have to show ID for alcohol since I'm almost 50. But voter ID would be required for all ages. A lot of elderly have a hard time maintaining a valid ID for the reasons David mentioned.
Did he say “ID” or “idea”? It sure sounds like “idea”.
You don't need an ID to buy a gun though 🤔
We have voter’s ID plus we have to show our driver’s license. What else are you supposed to show? Not everyone does that!
Why no ID to buy guns?
Make voting day a national holiday.
Becuase America as usually lagging behind the rest of the western world with little paid vacation, this would become an extra holiday and not a voting day.

As someone that uses an ID everyday, one that is not a driver's license, I can assure you that you are completely and totally incorrect.
You actually don't need an ID to buy beer or alcohol or cigarettes/vapes. You need to be a certain age, and as long you reasonably appear to be that minimum age, you're unlikely to get ID'd.
Yeah there should be identification to vote too many shenanigans.
When was the last time hannity had to show ID to buy alcohol?
