If you have constant foot pain or have been told you have plantar fasciitis, you’ve probably seen a bunch of the same exercises recommended all over the internet. Calf stretches, ankle strengthening, and arch massages are all common recommendations if you have plantar fasciitis.
In this video, Matt shows you three stretches for plantar fasciitis that nobody ever talks about. These are highly effective plantar fasciitis stretches that helped Matt get rid of his foot pain after years of daily, constant suffering. His foot and calf pain would start as soon as he woke up and would last all day. He used to wear really thick shoes to deal with the foot pain, but using extra padding in his shoes never actually SOLVED the foot pain!
Even though these stretches don't look like they'll affect your feet, they are well worth a try! These stretches have been very effective for Upright Health's personal training clients that have had foot pain that didn’t respond to traditional physical therapy and medical approaches and have helped our clients move better without pain!

I've been in agony for nearly a year with plantar fasciitis, I've had injections, painkillers and physio, nothing worked. Now these three exercises have been a god send after one day, the pain has almost gone, Sir you are a star!!!

I've been suffering from severe plantar fascitis since last summer. I went to physical therapy. I got custom made orthotics. I would stretch my lower legs religiously. On days I worked, I would go home and have to ice my feet and take pain pills. My quality of life was really affected and many times I would cry in frustration. I stumbled upon this video and immediately gave these stretches a try. I have seen a SIGNIFICANT improvement in my feet!!! I am so thankful for you and this video. I don't know why noone ever told me to stretch my hips or front of my leg but it has helped tremendously. I feel hopeful again. THANK YOU!!!!

Plantar fasciitis release.
I had surgery on my left foot April 19th and am having surgery on my right foot on May 10th, next Monday.
My left foot is still healing from the surgical puncture wound, But it's not the excruciating heel pain that I felt before.
I am extremely anxious for all of this pain to be behind me.
I had one lady tell me that her plantar fasciitis surgery did not make her feel much better.
I'm praying for her maybe something else is wrong.
I am also praying that that does not happen to me...

I try your 3 exercise yesterday and a miracle happen after 3 month of plantar fasciitis foot pain. The nerve receptor as you mention was the key. As soon as I did the chair exercise( 2 minute on both Hips) within second my foot pain was gone. I am still shock. I been Left Foot plantar fasciitis pain free for 20 hour and counting. I cant wait to start running again...thank you thank you thank you. I will do and monitor your videos and hope to take in top form
My doctor asked me what cured my PF and I showed him the sitting stretch and he looked at me like I'm nuts BUT these exercises worked for me. I had PF excruciating pain in left heel for a year and tried other stretches but these are the best imo. And I only did them for a week. I'm so grateful 😊
Doctors don't always believe in alternative therapies. I'm gonna try this for a week, see if it helps.

Same here , 4 days in . I stretch about 4 times a day. And my foot feesl much better and I'm getting my stride back at one point in was limping every whereBut I added especially before I get out of bed
I added one more thing . I stretch and my feet with the ABC stretches and break down my fascia with my fingers before I get out of bed . That first step is crucial to the healing process IMO

I had suffered from planter Fasciitis pain for 9 months and not even physical therapy had helped. But followed your method and in one week my pain was gone completely.. so thankful for your video!
I tried the 2nd exercise and worked like magic with 2 days. Got immense relief. Matt has demonstrated so well and so very grateful to him.
My foot was so painful I couldn't walk and could barely put it on the ground. It was hurting all the time and I couldn't even sit comfortably. It was keeping me awake all night. I found these exercises and after doing just the first two, I can't do the third due to a painful knee, the pain was 75% reduced. That was last night. I did them again in the early hours and just now in the morning. I am comfortable and walking up without pain. I would say it's 90% gone now. I can't thank you enough. I just stumbled across them on tube. I am 74 years old and have MS and fibromyalgia but found the exercises easy to do.🙏
4 months of pain in my right heel. At times almost unbearable. I saw a specialist and I've been doing his suggested stretches and wearing shoe inserts. Pain will get a little better for a time, but always comes back. Found your video today. Did your stretches for less than 10 minutes and the relief was almost instant. Pain was significantly reduced. No way!!!! I’m blown away! I’ve had chronic foot pain for years (that every day all day and all night pain) and I’ve struggled with tight hip flexors too. Always seem to be on the struggle bus and yes indeed, I just did these the exercises and got immediate relief. Thank you so much. Well, I have been in constant pain with plantar fasciitis in the past several months, ordered braces to sleeps in, done stretching, massaging, etc. last night after being on my feet all day and hurting so much, I came across your video around 9 pm. I got up and did your exercises and with in minutes the heel pain was bearable! I felt a tingling moving from the outer side of my foot. Did them one more time and I have no heel pain today! Crazy…. Lord bless you, and I am passing this on to all my workout buddies at our YMCA.

Trying this today and will continue doing multiple times a day. Never realized how tight my hips were and hoping this will help cure this darn thing!!! Been suffering since June due to overtraining and it has been so painful to run. You are my last hope sir!!! I’m really thankful to you. I did these stretches just once or twice and felt relief. I was suffering from plantar fasciitis for 4-5 years.
I love being reminded that stretching other places benefit the feet! We keep thinking that to help our feet, we need to concentrate on only the feet. So glad that your videos are still available. The way our bodies change through time we can search for your videos on whatever parts are needing our attention at a particular time.

One thing that's really great about this video is that you can stretch along to it! I keep watching it, and feel like I'm doing well if I can hold the stretch during the whole time he's telling us about it!
I had all kinds of foot, heel, ankle, leg pain and swelling( tendonitis, plantar fasciitis etc). Tried standard recommended tricks like ice pack, rolling over ball, bending foot, pain killer tablets etc. For 15 years, ECCO shoes provided relief but they also became ineffective over time. Nothing worked.
Did stretches shown in your videos. Everything disappeared progressively in 10-15 days.

Dude me to exactly like you I think it’s because the hip muscle along the leg gets really tight and it connects to ten foot muscle that’s why ten foot tightens up and causes pain. How are you doing now?

These stretches work. I bouldered Friday 2 hours and my foot was in excruciating pain..I immediately did everything my physio advised, calf stretches, ice, foot stretches on the wall.. it helped a little..Rested a whole day Saturday and then did a 3 hour hike Sunday ... pain came back again... repeated the physio exercises...with little improvement... and then I watched this video.. went straight to the gym at lunch and did the 3 exercises ... IT WORKS! Seriously miraculous... I can walk.. almost no pain.. AMAZING !
I found this video last night and did them twice before bed, then 4 times today and my foot is oain free for the first time in months and yesterday was the worst day in a long time which is what brought me back to searching for a video with some help. I am in complete amazement that it has tekn the pain away. Chronic heel pain is no joke.

don't have PLantar Fascitis, I came looking for strengthing feet exercises, did the exercises and discover just how tight the anterior and posterior hip region is even though the ROM is good the area was tight and these exercises relieved the tension. His channel is very beneficial for everyone.

I have foot pain that has been absolutely crazy, pins and needles, shooting through my feet into my legs! I found out it was because I had vitamin D3 deficiency. So I started taking it,and that pain was gone in a day! It was a miracle for me! However it feels like I have an infection in my foot because it feels soar to the touch on the backside of my heel! I have tried all the things you have tried, as well but the pain continues after 6 years!😂

I went to my Doctor and I have some stress in my life, nothing that can't get better, the waiting for positive changes to come with prayer is God's timing not mime ,amd I have to remimd myself of that. My Doctor says I need to do ionic cleansing, and dexto everything out of my tissues! But I have been getting really shakey lately, so I need to order the system this week! Other than that everything is great!

God has shown me that all illness is just symptoms of our bodies trying to eliminate all the chemicals, toxins and damaged cells from our vital organs first and so on. It's a big task when you realise how badly our bodies are being bombarded everyday from all avenues and for decades! I believe that we should treat our bodies with care and respect as a gift from God, but sadly this world us geared to the exact opposite outcomes. When you said ionic cleansing did you mean colonic? My left heel developed PF 7 months ago and I stopped my daily hike since. Tried everything under the sun (physiotherapist, podiatrist, acupuncturist, insoles, shoes change, books, rollers, massage balls, iced water bottle......) as well as watched all videos on UA-cam on the subject of PF to try out exercises recommended. None of them produced any long-term effect. Was on the brink of giving up and resigning to co-existing with PF for the rest of my life when your video popped up. I have had heel pain that comes and goes for years. About three months ago I came across your video exercises and tried them. I am now heel pain free and can do much more on my feet now. Hi Jose, I have had pains for years and came and went with arch supports. I then realised the pain got worse and found those 3vexercises.If you do them twice a day, out of bed morning and evening before bed, daily you should get results in 3 weeks in my case. After over a year it's gone and I do it once a day every morning by habit. After the pain its worth it as the cause is your hip and spine off allighment. I have just turned 80 and feel great cheers. @@jmcastro2009 The exercise I do most is standing one, can do few times a day any where. I understand your pain. I do gardening everyday, play senior table tennis twice a week pain free now.
I have had excruciating left heel pain for nearly 4 months. I'm 69 and also have stiff hip joints. I could not believe how quickly these exercises, particularly the pigeon stretch reduced the heel pain AND of course, helped my stiff hips. I can't thank you enough!
When I tried this stretches esp. the exercise no.2, the pain on the bottom of my right foot gone from 10 hghest to 2 lowest pain. Thabks for this exercises sir. 😎
This is one of the most extraordinary UA-cam posts I have seen. You don't even try to explain the physiological reasons why it works but clearly it does. I got bad heel pain the day after a hard track session, but I was aware that I had leg and hip tightness too so this video made sense immediately even though how quick my foot responded surprised me. I had been watching all kinds of plausible physical therapists on here telling you what to do with stretching or massaging your foot or your calf and I could still barely walk on it comfortably. But the day after I started the hip stretches (especially the first two were effective) I was jogging again! Three days later I am continuing to stretch and the heel is still fine. And this video is 4 years old but still other therapists are giving really useless advice about tubes of ice on your foot, k tape, etc. Thanks for giving advice that actually helps

I have never left a comment on anything before but I just had to for this! I have had severe cronic foot pain for the last 8 months. I tried these along with the video and can't believe the difference it made! Thank you sooo much!
Also just did the sitting pigeon stretch and my foot felt better right away. I've been suffering with plantar fasciitis for several months. Tried new shoes, orthotics, ice, etc. I had some improvement over the summer, but since I teach and stand all day, the problem came back. The stretch worked immediately. I will be doing these stretches regularly.
Oh my……I tried two of the movements you mentioned…the stretches on the chair……I have to say , it was a miracle. My PF pretty much disappeared…I now make sure I do them every day as soon as I get up in the morning for a few mins..so far, my foot has been thanking me. Thank you!
Holy Crap! I did the ankle over knee exercise when you showed it in the video and my heel pain is better! I didn't even hold the stretches for 30 seconds! II've never done the over foot version. I could really feel that. Thank you!!

Hi, first I am no doctor.., but if you are reading this, you may want to check into " Iodine Deficiency ". About 3-6 Months ago, my Dog and I was having a hard time/limping walking up and down the stairs. I said to myself, my Dog and I must have...., Plantar Fasciitis
, Achilles Tendinitis, Bone Spurs / Strain, Heel Bursitis and Unknown Heel Pain ??? How can a Human and a Dog have those at the same time? That is where it leads me to " Researching " what we were eating. Come to find out, it was Sea Salt lack of " Iodine ". Omg I just tired a modified exercise since I’m out of shape and 71.. but I actually felt the exercise helped my feet. It’s crazy!! I will do these pretty easy exercises ( I like them because they are quick and easy)!! No excuses!!! I just shared with my son and my friends!!

I’ve just found your channel as I was searching for help with plantar fasciitis. I tried the chair pigeon and it did give instantaneous relief for a while so I am incorporating the exercises in this video into my routine. I do yoga and I know that a lot of problems emanate from the hips so I started to search your channel for hip rotator videos and now I am binge watching and picking up loads of good stuff to incorporate. So thank you for that and hopefully in the not too distant future I will be able to sit cross legged without having to put a yoga block under my knee 👌🕉🧘♀️

Wow! Huge surprise here. Tons of pain for the last 6 weeks - agonizing to stand up in the morning. Spent hundreds of $ on insoles, splints, straps, etc. Tried every foot and calf exercise online. Then I find this video about exercising the HIPS... and, boom, instant results! Pain disappears immediately. Amazing stuff and can't thank you enough for making this video. I can do exercises #1 and #2, but #3 is too painful due to multiple knee dislocations.
I'm currently four months pregnant, and I knew back in the past that I have a bone spur in both heels via x-rays. Unfortunately, I guess a combination of weight gain and other mysterious things, one of them has suddenly flared up and caused me immense pain. I've been looking everywhere for relief, and I am so happy I found this video. I tried the pigeon stretch first, and I am able to walk again without hobbling. I am just shocked. The Lem's shoes you are wearing were a huge help to me in rehabbing my feet. My doctor kept putting me in more restrictive orthotics and shoes and I kept getting worse. I finally realized that was causing my feet to be weaker and weaker. I was beginning to believe that surgery was the next step but now several years later with the Lem's and lots of stretching and exercise my feet don't hurt.
I can't believe all the people hijacking this guys comments section to promote other sites... However, I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis, severe pain in my right foot for a few months. I've tried so many things, but no real relief. This video is amazing. The first exercise did not do much for me, but the 2nd and 3rd have made a major difference. Thank you soooooooo much for posting this information. I will continue daily to stretch. Treating the cause instead of the symptom makes so much sense.
UPDATE: In just 3 weeks of doing these daily, I was hiking over mountainous terrain, trout fishing in the Sierra's with absolutely no pain at all. No more need for the sole/heel shoe inserts. My feet are completely normal again - not even the slightest discomfort. I now do these about once a week just to keep things loose. From all of this I've learned that the foot - ankle - calf - thigh - butt - and lower back are a network that was designed to work together. Just because we have pain in one location does not mean that is where the problem lies. I have shown these stretches to others who are suffering and they have found relief as well. Thank you for sharing. I’ve tried this and the second exercise really worked for me. My feet was to a 90% pain to now I would say 20%. Who’d a thunk it that your hips would be the cause of so much foot pain!

Janis Stewart Hi Matt I am a 71 year old female who has been dealing with butt muscle pain in the middle of the cheeks and pulling sensation on the back of my thighs to my knees. I have arthritis and have been under a primary and arthritis doctor care I have told both doctors its my muscles not my spine they insist it is my spine senting me to therapy ,pain meds. saying its the sciatic nerve its been a 2 1/2 years and I'm still dealing with the symptoms.I found you on you tube two days ago Mon. Its immediately working! My feet were pounding when I started. Starting to feel better. And this is only the start! Bro! Thank you soooooo much! This whole time I've only been doing the calfs and plantor stretches, plus icing. Nothing ever changed.

I had been experiencing pain and discomfort in my calves which traveled down to my ankles for quite sometime and lately starting having pain in my hips which was making it impossible to sit leave alone exercising. Tried all kinds of stretches, massage and acupressure which would give relief for a little while but after watching your video and tried these simple yet effective exercises lo and behold it was like cutting some cord which set my muscles free right from my hip down to my ankles. I cannot thank you enough. I had pain in both feed and have done it one time and felt the releaf, instantly. So I have known that my hips are the problem. 5 days are over. I feel the Progress. Hopefully I can back to play soccer soon.

Thanks for the advice. As a runner and cyclist I've been chasing injuries around for the last few years. Started off with a hip flexor injury then gludeous medius then lower back and now the last two weeks plantar fasciitis pain. It's been very discouraging.
When you're going through Hell, KEEP GOING. The body is a crazy complex thing, but the learning experience is incredible!
I watched different videos with different advice, and I found that your stretches combined with some exercises from one other channel totally worked for me.

After having done 6 months of exercises my doctor recommended with no results, this just popped up, and I think instead of focusing on the feet only, these exercises address the whole body, which I think is the problem to begin with. As a runner with left foot plantar fasciitis, I have noticed that before I also had left side piriformis syndrome and left side leg pain. I am just starting with these exercises, but this is the first time I think that this will work. I will keep you posted….

I just wanted to say thanks for this video. I've been suffering increasing pain in my feet for a year or so now, tried various approaches with no relief and was getting to the point where it was seriously limiting my activities. It seems that different things work for different people with this condition, but these exercises provided immediate results for me. It's early days, so yet to see if it produces a lasting effect, but such a relief to have found something that seems to be working. Thank you!

@@justanotherwolf9222 I still have some pain first thing in the morning and after resting my feet, but there is definite overall improvement. I do the exercises regularly first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and if the pain develops during the day, and they always provide relief

Started doing these stretches and my foot feels so much better. I have been going to physical therapy since January of 2020 and now doing these stretches I feel like - I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Don't get me wrong, I loved my physical therapist but I needed to find quicker way to relieve my pain relief. Thank you so much for posting these amazing stretches that does work..

I kid you not, I've suffered with foot pain from a running injury that I endured last year. I went to PT but he was having me work my lats which he said was connected to my foot. I foam rolled and stretched. I was literally walking around in pain and I came across your vid. At first I didn't think I felt a difference however, I paused after the 2nd exercise to let me dog out and my pain was almost gone!!! THANK YOU, liking and subscribing.
