  • This one has a lot of sources, and these descriptions have a character limit, so I'll be brief. This video took a lot of work, and hopefully will do some good to show just how Tucker Carlson lies and distorts history to fit his narrative.

Don't get it twisted, though. If your first instinct is to see it as a victory because he's admitted to having no credibility, you're seeing it wrong and misunderstanding the real danger behind Tucker Carlson. He still won those cases and didn't suffer any real damage to his reputation because of them. When much of your message hinges on undermining liberal standards of credibility, you don't need credibility to get by.

Because its how the alt right reacts to everything that goes awry: one of their core slogans is “I disavow,” their movement works by selectively granting and retracting “membership” in their group based on a persons moment to moment usefulness.
When it originally went down they were salivating in online forums as to how great it was. Then the tide turned and the feds brought the hammer down, so now it never happened. I can confidently say that should trump get re-elected it will have happened again for them.

Sarcasm aside though, leftist voices in America have always been there, they've just always been on the unforgiving end of a gun. Be it the Civil Rights Movement, the anti-vietnam movement, Occupy Wall Street, etc, we've always been there. There's just always been an active effort to suppress leftist thought from people like McCarthy or cointelpro.
It's growth is also due to the fact that Millennials and gen Z are some of the most impoverished people for Generation, so of course they'd be attracted to an ideology that explicitly seeks to remedy that.

I work with a lot of people with university degrees (mostly engineering) and they 100% buy this stuff because it's all they're presented with by the media that they consume. It doesn't matter that they don't see it IRL, because this is Texas and they live in suburban or rural areas. They rarely venture into Democratic hellscapes so it is easy for them to believe in a strawman reality. The Other has grown to be more than a group of people, it's an entire conglomeration of zipcodes, neighborhoods and multiple dangerous and nefarious people groups just a 20 minute drive away - close enough to be scary, and distant enough that you can like the individuals that you know IRL and still believe they're not representative of the group as a whole.

I had to move out and cut ties as much as I could with my family for that very reason. I honestly thought Jan 6th would wake them up to how terrifying the Trump movement had become, but they shrugged it off in a matter of *hours* before cycling between "It was an ANTIFA false flag" to "It wasn't that bad!" to "Can we just move on from that?!" in rapid succession.

And by hilarious I mean exhausting and depressing. I feel like I should give up and just get into conservative politics, it seems like a really easy way to make money. You can just claim whatever you want as long as it fits the agenda without needing any self awareness or evidence.

And all of that's in addition to the use of the metal barricades against officers which can clearly be seen in videos from that day. Seems so peaceful

That protest failed but it was so expected.
They are angry because they believe that it's what they should be.
    Theyre not just angry.
It's like people acting a certain way because they like a certain kind of music.
They didn't revolt because they were hungry, or were being mistreated.
    Or anything like that.
It's just anger that was brought on by low political and economical literacy, being manipulated, poor education and so on and so on.
But they still live a comfortable material and overall life....they can project all they want, no one is actually going after them, oppressing them, keeping them poor, like THEY think.
And so they don't have the very real, VERY INTENSE AND VERY HARD TO CONTROL feelings that actually living those things bring about.
And so, we even see it in the videos, they hold back, they don't go after the guards, they don't burn down anything, they don't rush the gates. They don't really act out in anger.
    They're scared, they're cautious, they're slow, they're second thinking,etc.
They want to act angry, they think they're angry. But not really angry.
