SAME! I started watching Angelika at the beginning of the COVID lockdowns and she literally became such a huge comfort. There’s no other creator that I’ve continued to watch this consistently for this long.
The fries and drinks used to be called super sized but that became illegal so companies circumvented the government by making super sized the new large, the large the new medium and so on.
Yeah they kind of kept the sizes but then dropped the label down to the smaller size. So what used to be a small drink is now the kids size, a medium dropped to a small, and so on. And on top of that they try to sort of trick you to sizing up. I try not to eat fast food too often but I was recently at Burger King. Their meals come with a small drink and fry but when you order they always ask if you want it medium or large because both are an upcharge. So not thinking you kind of automatically just say medium and then they just charged you an extra dollar. Unlike where they used ask you if want to upgrade for an additional cost where I am sure most people declined.
I always have to remind myself not to get a medium drink from wendy's (the very rare occasions I go) because for some reason they are like the only fast food restaurant in canada (at least where I live) that for some reason uses the US sizes, instead of the 'regular' sizes. So you order a medium pop and it's just enormous.

I do think it's about her husband. If it wasn't she would have said something about how he has been helpful during her sadness or putting up with her, something like that. Also, crying yourself to sleep every night give the impression you're sleeping alone. She didn't mention him during Christmas as all, like not wanting to celebrate but him being a reason to celebrate. Then her going on a date or posting pics of him proves nothing, they can still be trying to make it work and still have some cheating trauma or something. There can be reasons to not feel safe in your own home while still loving your partner. Sometimes people can be dealing with symptoms of mental illness that are really scary for their loved ones. I'm just speaking from personal experience based on the little bit you've clipped here; i dont use tik tok and i cant stand Mikayla. She keeps saying she's eating alone in bed, maybe he's back in treatment or in inpatient mental health care.
She hasn’t been in any major controversies for a while so I think she wants people to speculate because it gets people talking about her again and increases her engagement. Not saying that’s why she started talking about it to begin with, but I think when she saw how well it did, that’s when she started milking it and dragging it out. I do think people need to understand the concept of high functioning anxiety or depression. My father died and I went into work an hour later and ran payroll bc I was the only one who could do it. My bff was graped and went to work the next morning. It’s just life for the rest of us. We have trauma and if we don’t get up and go to work, we can’t eat or pay our bills. She doesn’t record her character for a couple days and she could still buy her luxury goods and travel. Boohoo.

I am only halfway through the video but the whole thing feels contrived and manipulative. Removing all the decorations the day after Christmas and posting it (who knows when that video was actually taken?) feels very performative and dramatic. "Look at me being very sad and depressed!!!!"
idk my depressed self would leave the christmas decorations up until August because taking them down is too much energy

Yeah they kind of kept the sizes but then dropped the label down to the smaller size. So what used to be a small drink is now the kids size, a medium dropped to a small, and so on. And on top of that they try to sort of trick you to sizing up. I try not to eat fast food too often but I was recently at Burger King. Their meals come with a small drink and fry but when you order they always ask if you want it medium or large because both are an upcharge. So not thinking you kind of automatically just say medium and then they just charged you an extra dollar. Unlike where they used ask you if want to upgrade for an additional cost where I am sure most people declined.
I always have to remind myself not to get a medium drink from wendy's (the very rare occasions I go) because for some reason they are like the only fast food restaurant in canada (at least where I live) that for some reason uses the US sizes, instead of the 'regular' sizes. So you order a medium pop and it's just enormous.

i just barely logged on to youtube, and this was at the top of my recommended, and i thought "....what?" but you're always so logical and balanced with your opinions so i had to watch!
I do think it's about her husband. If it wasn't she would have said something about how he has been helpful during her sadness or putting up with her, something like that. Also, crying yourself to sleep every night give the impression you're sleeping alone. She didn't mention him during Christmas as all, like not wanting to celebrate but him being a reason to celebrate. Then her going on a date or posting pics of him proves nothing, they can still be trying to make it work and still have some cheating trauma or something. But her saying she literally can't talk about it sounds like it is legal so maybe she is finally getting in trouble for not disclosing ads or being sued or something.
It was also rumored that Cody had a child - not necessarily cheating and fathering a child while in a relationship with her but from a previous relationship - that he recently found out about. If there is some legal stuff going on with custody or child support she might not be able to talk about it.
i think it's this idea that everyone needs to talk about everything and record everything, so that's why she keeps dropping "hints" of what's going on. she's saying "i don't want to talk about it", but she's still talking about it because there's this idea that you need to constantly have a camera on you. so it leads to vagueness and speculation. she needs to stop talking all together, if she's actually going through something. i also don't believe she would take it as far as faking everything, but she *needs* to stop talking about it if she doesn't feel comfortable sharing anything. also she needs to clear the rumors about cody if it's not about cody, like you said.
it's always confusing to me when influencers have so much money, yet still post when things are happening in their lives. she has enough money to not post for a few months. besides contractual obligations, i don't know why she's posting. just like she said "no one is forcing you to watch", no one is forcing her to post. if she can't talk about it, just don't post? she can still talk about mental health (and, you know, monetize it), but she doesn't have to fuel speculations. if they bother her so much, she can stop talking about it. i think that's why people are being skeptical about what she's going through.

The public can have really short attention spans and be quite fickle. Yes she has a lot of money and I'm sure one day she will be no longer relevant but until then she has to keep posting to keep herself relevant.

14:13 you can hear her real voice in this clip she lets her guard down because she’s talking about what she’s actually going through but then once she realizes she puts her fake accent back on when she says “lAAHrge fry.” It definitely is so intriguing seeing both of the personalities play out def is a great example of social media and a good example of what transparency influencers who try to seem perfect on camera are actually hiding behind closed doors.
Also in some weird way she sounds/seems younger like her actual age when she uses her real voice versus I feel like her fake accent ages her.
I don't really like Mikayla, but i also don't like how i've seen comments like "how can she be sad or depressed, she just got married!!" as if other things couldn't happen at the same time
I wonder if she was threatened or something with her address or it could be she doesn’t feel safe with herself. I think she’s depressed (i’m not diagnosing, just observing). Whatever happened i think we can acknowledge the bad stuff as well as not want her to be depressed. TikTok is a cruel place - not calling people out but absolutely dragging them down until they want to die and even then not stopping.
She’s definitely not my favourite person but i hope she comes out the other side of this. I wouldn’t wish the feeling of eternal sadness on my worst enemy.

i wouldn’t be surprised (if this is possible) if she books a ton of sponsorships in advance, maybe she does have contracts to honor before taking a break that she signed before whatever is going on started. however, if the circumstances are extenuating enough, i imagine many of the brands (especially those she works with a lot or at least who want the money she’s bound to bring them) would be willing to renegotiate time lines. if she did that with those who can be flexible, she could at least lighten her load until she’s in a better spot, and if anything has a non-flexible timeline, if she’s rearranged other obligations she could put the energy she has into those, and get back to the others when she’s in a better spot. she should have enough money to where she can take a break, she’s in a pretty authoritative position when it comes to brands she works with, in my opinion, i believe she could request accommodation, and frankly, SHE DESERVES A BREAK! a REAL break!!! i may not agree with a lot of what she does on her platform, but it’s clear she does work her ass off, i’m sure it’s emotionally taxing being perceived all the time. i would love to see her take a real break from work, do what she needs to do to handle whatever her difficult situation is (whether she literally needs to put time energy and attention into resolving something, or put that time energy and attention into caring for herself through the difficult time, or both) she is a privileged person who has the means to take time off for her wellbeing and i would respect her so much if she did

There can be reasons to not feel safe in your own home while still loving your partner. Sometimes people can be dealing with symptoms of mental illness that are really scary for their loved ones. I'm just speaking from personal experience based on the little bit you've clipped here; i dont use tik tok and i cant stand Mikayla. She keeps saying she's eating alone in bed, maybe he's back in treatment or in inpatient mental health care.

She hasn’t been in any major controversies for a while so I think she wants people to speculate because it gets people talking about her again and increases her engagement. Not saying that’s why she started talking about it to begin with, but I think when she saw how well it did, that’s when she started milking it and dragging it out. I also think that’s why she’s being so vague and hasn’t made a video outright shutting down the Cody theories.

That was my first thought as well.
Many friends and family struggled with Christmas this year, mainly due to the loss of a family member. Maybe she lost someone close to her. She's depressed, high functioning depression is a thing.

I don't know but every TikTok that has been shown, she almost seems a bit hysterical and moving back n' forth with emotions like a pendulum. If she really is going through something, then she should step away from the camera and seek some actual professional help in the matter instead of trying to continue on with her job and trying to act like all is ok, when maybe it isn't. I am a VERY clean person but I have also been on antidepressants most of my life, mood stabilizing medication, and seen therapist. Just because my house isn’t a mess and my hair is clean, DOESN’T mean I have always been fine. Just because my depression doesn’t look like yours, doesn’t mean I am hurting any less. Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean it is a competition. Stop comparing, everyone hurts and deals differently.

I do think people need to understand the concept of high functioning anxiety or depression. I had suicidal ideation and still managed to get dressed, showered and go to work, I was unwell but I still had to get myself through each day and it was absolutely awful. I'm not speaking for her, but I'm saying you can't put everyone's mental health in one single shaped box. It doesn't work that way.

I feel like when you are actually going through the rough times with your mental health you rarely would think to put the camera on but then I remember this is influencers and they have to document every part of their life 😂 I appreciate she is trying to raise awareness of mental health but to set up a camera and think about where your gonna be positioned and everything I feel is the last thing you wanna do when you are struggling!
I can’t feel sorry for her. I found out at work that my ex-husband was sleeping with my best friend and had to finish out the day. My father died and I went into work an hour later and ran payroll bc I was the only one who could do it. My bff was graped and went to work the next morning.
It’s just life for the rest of us. We have trauma and if we don’t get up and go to work, we can’t eat or pay our bills. She doesn’t record her character for a couple days and she could still buy her luxury goods and travel. Boohoo.
