- Round One - SHASN
Welcome to "Round One" - The series where we play just the beginning of a game (or a little more) to show you what it's like, and then report back to you with a brief discussion of our full play-through experience. ARE YOU AN IDEALIST, A CAPITALIST, OR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY?

I swear Kunal brought me here😂
Of all the gameplays I have watched, this is the one having great production quality, that too by a far margin.
Thanks for noticing. We try to illustrate the game with graphics, etc. whenever possible. Glad you liked it.
I think this game would play more interestingly if you left it at yes or no and read the flavour text after the choice. Otherwise its more like "do you want a green card or a red card"?
@zmmemon yea, it just seems to be pretty obvious most times. Makes for a more strategic game for sure, saying the flavour text only after making the choice would likely make for a more social experience though, although some of the questions are touchy enough you would likely want to know the people in the first place if you played that way. Definitely debating backing this :)
@@UBBADUBBADANG technically according to the game creators you're not suppose to read the yes and no answers. They were playing incorrectly
@@emirence1641, in the Shasn tournament that was run by the game's creators they read the answers.
exactly what I was thinking.
Rule Question: On Kira's second turn, she got the resources for having pairs of ideologue cards at the beginning of her turn (at 20:30), discarding a resource because she had too many, then gaining an ideologue card later in the turn (at 22:07) and collected a resource then. Could she have collected her original bonus resources later in the turn so she wouldn't have had to discard one? Or was the second resource gain later in the turn done out of order?
1 year later, now that the final rule book is out. You can use ideologue abilities anytime on your turn.
I like this game a lot, im just surprised that maybe they will miss funds due to low advertisement prior to launch. I am glad they funded and its looking great after the usual reviews.
So if someone gets hold to a region and I get majority in the adjacent region, can I move his voter to break his majority?
no, you cannot move voters of a majority
12:16 Ryan didn’t read the whole sentence. And nobody figure it out, naturally i think.
Why is Steve Carell playing shasn instead of staying in office
"That's what she s..." 🤣 You're not the first to point out the resemblance. I take it as a compliment. 😁
Can 2 player play this game ?
I’m not sure how possible that is, but I can tell you that it’s likely far better the closer you get to max player count.
Now you can!!!
I think gerimandering can happen if you own most votes in a territory and not just majority. Please check.
That’s how we played it too.
Enjoying watching guys sweat over the "politically correct" positions in these hypotheticals.
The game board quality is horrible. You don't get the pegs. It's cardboard. We got it from the game website.
Are you saying your version is different that the one we played with in the video?
@@meepleyes..The latest one ai received is just cardboard coins not pegs
Man.. As a non-American it's weird to hear them explain how this is just a game and does not reflect your political opinions for ten minutes. Are things really that volatile?
what an idealist
I think you guys are using gerrymandering incorrectly. As per my understanding, even if you have one voter in a zone where there are no other voters. You can have gerrymandering rights. You don't need to have a proper majority for gerrymandering rights to kick in. Maybe I got it wrong... or have a different version of the game. Can someone else also chip in and help me understanding this gerrymandering thing?
Also I don't think you can discard a voter from a volatile zone.
Entirely possible. This video was some time ago, and even before the game released. It's possible we simply made a mistake too. 😄
They just decide the answer on "what token they need", they literally have no idea of what kind of politician they want to stand for in this game. I wouldn't want to play this game like this.
sadly thats how politics work
yeah, that's what's making me doubt to get the game. It's an interesting mechanic that feels poorly implemented. As it is right now, there's little difference to see the card and pick the side that works for you, and voting to get the obvious side of the card.
That's what the truth is in politics. The game designers wanted to make people more involved in politics and understand it better in a very fun way.
You have to give up your ideologies sometimes to get ahead in the game.
India gave chess to the world..... Now India is giving the skill of political awareness through this game.....
Full circle!
My fear with this game is that it depends on the author of the questions perspective. It depends if they are going with the ACTUAL definition of things like facism, or the modern day cuck perspective / groupthink perspective.
