I hate the idea that i have to write again but you asked a very good question. where i had trained many of Aikido people would come and pay the mat fee and fight one of our fantastic fighters and I witnessed this many of times... They would get destroyed not even close most of the times they were carried off the mat never not one to ever come back to the gym. This is what I have witnessed and what I know Aikido as much as it hurts you or anyone else sucks for fighting. Call it a dance.

Martial arts is about honour, respect, and humility.

I commented two years ago, a lot of my perspective has changed, I still believe in the honour, respect, and humility side of martial arts. Martial arts is also acceptance, self discipline, justice, self awareness, and ect.

I remember that day. So good to see Paul Sylvain and Evan Greenland taking ukemi for Tamura Sensei again. So glad I went to Montreal for what was probably his last seminar there. A beautiful man.

I'll give you a tip. Read about the martial arts elements, like "water", "fire", "air", "void" etc.
Many arts combine lots of them, others, like aikido, concentrate on one of them, having parts of the others as alternative approaches. All this blending motion in Aikido, the one you're calling "dance", comes from the element of water. Boxing, MMA fighting and all those "touch" arts (or in this case sports) come from the fire element, which is pure force. Fire's not the only true way...

Chi If Im not mistaken is chinese. In japanese, we use the term Ki, as in Aikido. Also this magical pushing around is not practiced in every aikido dojo, I dont practice it neither my sensei. So, besides some who believe it works and post it on youtube, whats your point exactly? There are others who think that karate can break any type of metal, so karate is bullsh!t?
We experience Ki mainly through kiai, a sort of battlecry.

You're wrong. Aikido is the path of aiki. There is also aikijutsu, which is more or less the techniques of aiki. There's a difference, "do" is more spiritual. So NO, aikidoka is NOT (or should NOT be) looking for a fight. Also the goal is not to "fight" or "win" but to "defend" yourself and "protect" the opponent from harm (or not, its yin and yang). Aikido has many similarities with judo and jujutsu (notice the "do" and "jutsu"), so a good aikidoka stands a chance against a judoka or a wrestler

Last but not least, in Aikido, the practitioners learn also kenjutsu, bojutsu, jojutsu and tantojutsu. Ken is the sword, bo and jo the 2 staffs and tanto the knife. He learns to use them as well as the defence against them. Surely a sword is hard to find and illegal, a reliable knife too, but how hard is it to find a staff in a dangerous situation? Can you say the same for a boxer?
A martial art practitioner never challenges someone, only practices with him using respect and humility.

Why do you keep posting offensive comments on aikido videos? It doesn't matter which martial art is someone practicing but rather how good practitioner he is.I bet a 60year old aikido sensei can prevail over a 20year old MMA practitioner, because in martial arts is not only about strength and speed, its also about tactics and strategy.
You'll have to understand its a martial art, not sports. You'll have to be one with the art, both in a physical and spiritual way. I think you should try it first.

We're not fighting anyone else because Aikido does not have any attacks. Shomenuchi, Yokomenuchi and Tsuki are the only hand attacks, the first 2 demand a sword or club. There are attacks using weapons, but aikido doesnt have many empty hand attacks. Its more of a defence MA. Myself, Im practicing with a karateka, and I can tell you that Aikido is working really well and he's agreeing too.

Have you ever even tried aikido?
Or even better any of its origins like jujutsu, kenjutsu, tantojutsu, jojutsu etc?
    Or youre just a hater?

WWE guys me be fixed but they are not fake they would destroy every Aikido person on this earth.

Also, Martial Arts in USA differ from MA in the east. Did you know that the belt system was invented for westerners?
In the East, not everything is about fighting. You dont have to be strong or durable to win a deadly fight. This is done in a matter of seconds. In ninjutsu, another MA, you can cause damage to someone just by pointing your index finger into his eye when he's running for you. How's that for a technique?
So dont try to compare sports which have rules with MA which dont, ok?

I ran out of room but call it a dance call it a martial art. BUT BUT IT IT IS IS NOT NOT A fighting art. You cant fight with this no matter what you say or any one else says. This is why you don't have Aikido in MMA. And this is why you guys only fight yourselves. So say what you want I know what the truth is. And sometimes the truth hurts.

  • @AgCain

and I hope youre not refering to WWE wrestling, thats fake. Real wrestling resembles judo. IMO an aikidoka cannot use raw force against a boxer, as aikido is not relying on force but rather blending in. You wont experience body building with aikido but learning to control yourself, your body, your emotions, your actions and your mind.

  • @AgCain

I can also reply in the same way, that YOU can say everything you want and that MMA is bullsh!t. But im not.
Yes we're protecting the uke from harm, because if we break him, we wont be able to practice with him any more. A broken ankle is worse than a broken rib or a black eye. So yes, we have to play safe.
You want to beat a boxer? Kick him in the groin
If youre considering martial arts as a fighting sport then you're missing the point and youre unrespectful to the japanese martial tradition.

Joe Rogan says it all. You guys do this junk for so long you real start to think it really works.

  • @ToniMattTony
    @ToniMattTony 12 років тому

Listen YOU can say all you want but when it comes down to it I have seen what happens to Aikido people when they think they can fight. That is why you guys will never and I mean never see an aikido guy in MMA or any other kind of tournament except Aikido demo because they cant they would get destroyed. Notice how you hide behind what you are trying to sell like we will brake your wrist or we don't use violence or we want the soft side not the violent side what ever.

    Do your homework pal
WWE is professional wrestling which is more thetrical performance and athletics than real fighting.

Listen the other thing you guys do that piss people off is when you start throwing 20 people or pushing 30 people with your chi. Chi is short for Shi and the full spelling is Shit
