Barbara is the best singer that Barry has sung this song with but maybe I m biased, I met her at The Crystal ballroom in Newcastle Staffs, she was just seventeen years old (1965) knocking spots off songs like Patsy Clines Crazy and Ella Fitzgerald's Every time we say goodbye , as the resident vocalist with The Peter Chell Band ,anyone remember the Crystal ? oh and I married her in 1966 April 4th and we have been married for 50 years with three lovely daughters, and 5 beautiful grandchildren, lucky man or what John Charles Haynes.
Hi John, I saw Barbara and yourself today, whilst you were shopping in NuL - I think she did notice me, but I felt too uncomfortable to go over and say hello. It reminded me that she once told me and a group of my friends at school of this video. Brilliant vocals and a wonderful woman. We were sometimes a handful for her at lunch (I finished there around 9 years ago but hopefully we didn't cause any premature ageing!) although I doubt she would have any memory of us.. Brilliant! I was there that night too, and Barbara sang great. All these years later and I am still a big Fan and will see Barry again at the 02 next September.
i was always so happy for those who got this opportunity. of course always wished he'd picked me, but i wouldn't have done as good a job as this lady, and others.

tthank you for your comment barbara is my wife of 55 years and was the female singer with a big band when I met her that night with Barry was very much like a normal night to her.
@Barry Manilow many thanks for your comments and thank you for filming the song because I was fitting a bedroom in Scotland at the time and would not have seen the intervue and song which I do think is very entertainng, I met Barbara at myl local dance hall in 1965 , I was just a paying member of the public and Barbara was the female singer with the big band, she was seventeen i was twenty two , in June 1966 we eloped to Ireland to get married and have now been married for 55 years and are still as much in love as then many thanks Johnny and Babs.
@Barry Manilow Hi Barry, Coping quite well Babs has played quiet a few of your concerts that we have on dvd she is out at the moment and Iwas trying to think of the lady who co run the fan club at a house in Richmond which I did visit a couple of times with Barbara and we had them stay with us but I cant remember their names but I Know one of them died about nine or ten years ago but both great ladies will be looking for your next concert tour . @@barbaragarcia615 Hi barbara, my wife Barbara was a professional singer in the 60s and 70s and provided entertainment for The Barry Manilow fans at the yearly conventions one of yhe things she did was to play Barry bingo , to start the game the bingo balls were put in a washing up bowl and Barbara then mixed the balls with her hand, saying Barry's balls are moving she told the fans that if she ever sang with him she would say to him that she was the lady that played with his balls every twelve months, which she did, Barry replied You play with my balls every twelve months and I dont even know about it, come on lets sing the song without playing with my balls thats why the fans were cheering so loudly, thanks Barbara's husband of 53 years John.
