    Beautiful machine! They need to add a cover to the grouhead and cartridge heaters. They can even push it further and add a PID to take care of heating the grouphead. It would be the perfect machine.

      @NANA-gy7yx - Hi there, thanks for your input. Just like an E61 espresso machine, the group head is exposed which is to beautify the overall look with a shiny brew head.
      Adding electrical and electronic components will add further costs to it, which will almost enter into the territory of a full espresso machine. Cheers!

      @@almamicroroastery It's already well ABOVE the price of a full semi-automatic espresso machine and missing features. No one cares how the shiny brew head looks if it can't make good espresso.

      So how much is this ?

  • @marioneto50

    For the price point I would expect it to have electric pre heating such as the flair 58. I bet its hard to get high temps with the robust metal construction.

    • @almamicroroastery
      @almamicroroastery  Рік тому

      @marioneto50 - Hi there, appreciate your input. Not an ideal comparison as in different leagues in terms of quality and construction. Sonic S7 is priced higher than others as higher quality materials (cost more) are used from top to bottom like stainless steel 304 and aluminium alloy. Also, it comes with customised hard-shell suitcase and professional accessories as standard.
      The electronic preheat is a nice feature to have but good to know that it is not for setting a brew temperature on the brew head. Users will still have to do temperature management with boiling water for the brew head. Cheers!

      @@almamicroroastery Premium materials and accessories are all pointless if you can't pull a shot at good temperatures because the brew head is a giant heatsink. 😅

      @@TheNoNotReally - Hi there! The same goes for the E61 grouphead? Preheat with boiling water + good temperature management is a good start. Cheers!

      @@almamicroroastery Absolutely! That’s why the E61 is considered an outdated design today and many new machines are moving away from it.

      I agree. It should have come with a electric grouphead heater. It does not cost much compared to the suitcase and its added shipping cost but it would greatly improve espresso and sets this machine apart from the rest of machines with similar price. If I have to heat the grouphead, then there are many cheaper options despite quality of components. It is a nice machine just shame to have this huge missed opportunity t

    Nice machine but you can see by the shot that it is underextracted ... they absolutly need to put a pid and heating element on the grouphead ... that would be a delight . ITOP have some model with that look absolutly awesome... im still a big big fan of mhw-3bombrs

      @ClearDome - Hi there! Thanks for your input. Might look like under-extracted to you but it's not. The beans used are light-medium roasted and taste is the key. Cheers!

      @@almamicroroastery hi ! Im a roaster and a lever machine restaurer and user and even for some light roast it still look under extract , the speed at which the shot start and color of the creama defenetly look like the temperature is too low ... the machine look awesome tho thats why i think and heating element with a PID controler would fix everything , look at the CT2 machine

      @Bbarm97 - Thanks for your input. It's important to consider these factors that contribute to why the cost of Sonic S7 is priced higher than others - higher quality materials used from top to bottom like stainless steel 304 and aluminium alloy. Also, to consider it comes with customised hard-shell suitcase and includes professional accessories (eg. Bottomless portafilter, constant pressure tamper, wooden top distributor, precision filter basket, etc) as standard. You will appreciate its value when you have it on hand. Cheers!

    Seen a couple of videos featuring this machine and I have to say it looks drop dead gorgeous and you can see the quality components. BUT it’s too expensive for what it is. The buyer must be paying for the ridiculous suitcase and that thought alone will deter many potential buyers! I’m currently in the market for a lever machine but case and resulting price are putting me off.
