(Buddy figured this one out) I researched and a lot of people say linkage cable, but wanted your personal opinion, maybe you went through this before or known someone who has.
Haha, I appreciate that but unfortunately I don't think I have the knowledge, nor have I covered enough here on the channel to be anyone's primary source! Also, I apologize for the late response. The problem you described is something I've experienced with my car as well. Hopefully it's something simple like the cable, but unfortunately I don't have the answer. Hope you're able to figure it out, and if not then I hope it goes away on its own like mine did!

Haha yea this one is definitely more geared towards those with an Auto that maybe don't know the functionality of this O/D button. Though overdrive gears and gear ratios certainly apply to manuals as well!
For gamers who do their gear mapping in computer games. = twin-cam 6000rpm redline, cam-shift at 3000rpm, petrol-gasoline = 1 reverse, 4 forwards, 1 overdrive (no top up money to buy flashy in-game parts) = see car default gear-ratio for 1st versus reverse. Power-torque curves peak and start to drop at 5000rpm(engine protection, save on shift light) 1st = steep slope, full load, corner-bend acute, wheels steered-turned max, able to crawl-hold position(auto, manual).

Sir, I have a question regarding driving an automatic transmission car on a 30-kilometer range uphill route. What is the best driving method to use? Should I use the OD (Overdrive) OFF function or gear 2, 1 or L gear? And to assist with engine braking, on downhill, should I use gear 2, 1, or L for the entire 30 kilometers to prevent damage to the transmission? Your answer and explanation would be greatly appreciated

I have a 2005 Mustang GT Automatic equipped with a 5R55S transmission. Every time I drive my car literally off my driveway. My transmission slips and goes into overdrive flashing and check engine comes on and 5 codes come on P0743 P0750 P0755 P0760 P0765 and will stall out. I can turn the car back on but cant put it into gear without it stalling again. I’ve replaced the solenoid pack, wiring harness, fluid and filter and still no fix. Any help?
Unfortunately that sounds like a serious transmission issue, but I couldn't know for sure without being able to diagnose it myself. Regardless, I'd say to take it in to a shop and see what they suggest! I'm hoping it can be a relatively easy fix for your sake! Best of luck, and sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Yikes that sucks. Yeah if it goes into overdrive so soon the engine rpm is too low at such low speed and it would stall out. Ive had to deal with stalling on my Corolla before but that was mainly due to a dirty throttle body that needed cleaning. Did you ever fix your problems with the car?
Mine is flashing... which could be anything from low fluid to a completely trashed transmission. Cuz the button makes no difference. I found that out while I was chillin in the gas tank.
I found it hiding on the end of the column shift handle on my 98 Crown Vic. Owners manual was the only way I was able to track down what turned on that light
Yes leave o/d on for better fuel efficiency and because that's how the manufacture recommends the car be driven during regular driving. As a reminder, keeping O/D ON means you do NOT have the o/d light appearing on your dash.
It might not be the smartest thing to do often, but I do believe it was designed with instances of turning it on/off at speeds (like highway/freeway speeds) in mind. That being said it should be safe but continue your research to be sure.
Hey what does it mean when im going high way speeds my car stutters and goes crazy into high rpms and the o/d light goes off without even pressing it its weird only happens on highway not street driving ??😅 it scary when it happens to cause the car just pauses .you think my transmission going out or something like spark plugs or something??

With O/D on, the car will rev higher and accelerate harder. The gears will rev out longer therefore making the gear changes delayed so to say. If you're going highway speeds, and the revs are low (like ~2500rpm), the car does NOT have O/D off since this is achieved by your car being in its overdrive gears like 6th gear.
