Bob LOVED filming this video and took it very seriously, it took her a while to learn how to hold the camera though... she's still learning! I absolutely love all 5 of my PA's, they have given me so much more independence an freedom these past 6 months...

Hi, ( small intro - I'm Rosie , I'm 38, have full body CRPS etc severe dystonia, eds etc etc, CRPS from tripping over a cat whilst packing to go back to boarding school (@16). yeh. I know. The cat put me in a wheelchair. Yeh. (I guess like your hand 😂😂🙄 and the comfy wheelchair armrest??? 🤔🤯)with a 24/7 PA....some PAs are AWESOME like Bob (I've had my own 😏Bob'ettes 😏TM.)
.. whilst others keep you in insane drama / total boredom/ apathy and stories for a lifetime**).I'm so pleased you have a Bob in your life. Really hope things pick up and you inspire me that things can improve especially that you're sitting upright in a very lightweight chair without lats/ head rest/ tilt... And have a new (different) but still great life. I love bobs line "stop fighting yourself and start fighting FOR yourself" eugh, it's hard though!!!
**Story time... When I fell in a hole
When my ex accidently sank my van and I into a beach with tide coming in, the one where the wheelchair exploded, the one where I was in a train crash.. thank you Bob and thanks Amy... So strange though- I nearly moved to Durham for uni!! Hope we could become friends? Love etc Rosie and Caramel - the dogxxx

So excited for you to go to Disney, Im going in October for the first time also super excited.
Don’t forget to apply for the das pass so you don’t have to wait in as long a queue due to your needs.
Also Vagas is a desert so it will be hot even if it’s the city that never sleeps.

Could you tell me where you got your bed from, Amy? It looks like you have a airflow pump mattress the same as me but my hospital bed is single and doesn’t have rails all the way down. I really want one like yours

Yes and no. If someone can afford it then they can just pay out of pocket, but realistically the cost of care adds up FAST so unless someone is extremely rich or only needs a few hours (or some elderly people who sell their homes to go in care) people usually need the care funded. In the UK you can get funding either from your local authority (aka council) 's adult social care department, or from the NHS. If I remember correctly the nhs assessment is run by a nurse assessor, but there has to be a social worker on the team, but they stop being involved after assessment. For local authority adult social Care it's a social care worker assessment. Once you've been assessed as eligible and assigned a number of hours you can either have them organise the care for you and provide it to you, or get it converted in to a budget that you then use to hire your own staff. Upside is that you then have full control, downside is that you have all the responsibilities of any other employer which can at times be pretty hard.
Most people who have care get it via adult social care because the NHS criteria is ridiculously tight. The upside of nhs care is it's always free though with no savings limit, but adult social care has a savings limit and often has a charge.
