Nobody in the world has been able to play Concert 3 by Rachmaninnov, as it used to do by this unique interpreter of Classic music for piano. His sensibility and at times his power combined with outstanding fine motricity, so far it’s unparalled.
Wow, this was a really tough crowd to play for. Vladimir Horowitz just turned in one of the most absolutely phenomenal and magical performances on the piano that any person could hope to listen to. Yet, no standing ovation.

I don’t agree upon Hakkarainen perception about the most difficult parts of Concert 3 of Rachmaninoff. At the time of following the partiture most difficult passages; Horowitz used arpeges instead of accords. Horowitz was able to play it with three fingers simoultaneously, in crescendo. No matter the cadenza. Never before, even Skanazy or Rubinstein were able to do it. Vladimir Horowitz never, ever approached nuclear bomb power to his interpretations; but exquisit delicate, fast and enormously strong sounds at times. That’s why he never played on Bossendorfer pianos.

Who plays better is very subjective..personally I believe many people especially in America loved Horowitz and not just his playing but his history coming out of Ukraine in 1920 and performing a successful three concerts in Berlin and Paris before he finally made it to New York ...people in the audience used to stand up to see how does he do his octaves so fast especially on his Tchaikovsky concert lead by his father in law Arturo Toscanini..he was a wizard on the piano, his technique was formidable and his transcription are some of the best...I would suggest watching a little bit more and listen to his earlier works..and I also read about what other musicians like Cortot, Rachmaninoff, and Rubinstein though of him
The Joy on President Jimmy Carters face says it all, the beautiful beaming smile he exchanged with Maestro Vladimir Horowitz. Divine🎉
When they appreciated culture in the White House. Horowitz is great. Such power and ferocity. And plays with such ease.
This "culture" appreciation, sadly, will likely never return again. This was true music.
Than come buruck obum and Snoop dog
He makes every piece is own. And I love him for it.

Brilliant at any age - Horowitz, one of 20th Century's greatest pianists.
Could not agree more!
Magical and like from another period. His almost meditative expression belies the energetic accuracy of those elegant hands.
The greatest.

The Chopin sonata was quite moving emotionally-I said prayers for the departed. Rest in peace,
he had the ability to create greatness in any room where he played.
Insanity. UNBELIEVABLE. Almost like some kind of magician. I think he is the god of music.
The best version of funebre march ever. In the middle part is like he's living a mourning.
No questions about that!
This disappeared and re appeared off and on UA-cam .. it's a must to be on youtube

It sounds as if Chopin was ahead of his time. Great geniuses often are. Beethoven was: He often pointed towards early 1900s.

Para que mencionar a otro pianista? ..👏👏🙏🙏
I wouldn’t say that this is the height of perfection. Arthur Rubinstein, in my opinion, plays these same things better.
….no wonder he demanded Steinway, his own wherever he performed.
Горовиц конечно гений, но это не лучшее его выступление...
What’s wrong with his pinky on his left hand? Looks like it’s been slammed in a door before the performance…
On a l'impression que le piano est un peu casserole. Enfin Horowitz s'en accommode. Un autre s'y serait cassé les dents .
Vous avez raisons. Le piano manque de timbre. Heureusement, Horrowitz ne manque pas d'expérience.

I hear it, too, like a quality of impatience. Maybe he does not like the surroundings.

Obviously u is an old timer of the Mickey Mouse Club.
Oleg Boshniakovich played Chopin much better, more diligently. Or it's just an unsuccessful game of Horowitz.
Chopin plays chopin better than them and everyone else
