Hi! I replaced a new 8-pole stator, new CDI & new carburetor. I have a strong spark on the spark plug but the engine will not start. Any idea what it could be? Thanks in advance.
I have a 2003 yerf dog rover 8400 with gy6 engine and a dc cdi. When I turn the key. I get one single spark. I can't remember if this happens when turing the key to ignition on or when cranking. I eventually gave up on it and put in an ac stator, dci, rectifier and it runs. The ignition system i put in it was for a gokart or something and the wiring harness is incorrect and short and would like to switch back to the dc system . It has a mikuni carb That I have cleaned extensively a couple of times. The engine has no power or speed. The idle speed used to slowly increase the lower it was running. I would need to decrease the idle speed to shift from R N F. Will adjusting the idle air mixture screw affect top speed and power? My second thought is the diaphragm and needle that is attached to it. I did not see any holes in the diaphragm. I dont recall if the needle is adjustable. Any ideas would be helpful. There was one suggestion that a missing ground was the cause for one spark..
I have a new unrestricted naruka cdi box and i have a 2009 kymoc agility 49cc. My new cdi just keeps turning over when i try to start up the engine. Its all connected and the moped works fine with the old one. What am i doing wrong please do i need to bypass the ignition fro the engine
I also wan to know too broh shit crazy cuz I have a 01 scooter that have a kill switch and it also have a stock cdibox which is big so I assume it's a cd but at the same time battery been dead I have be able to Kickstarter before and now I don't know what is the problem if tatir is new but it won't trow spark at all battery also dead too but usually it use to worl i dont know if its my charging systems are nit working or wtf else can be but whit a dead battery and no spark I have no wsy to find out if my cdi wen bad or the regulator ect
Absolutely never use AC or DC out if place. It can really screw things up badly. AC is sn extremely high voltage that will likely melt or blow up a DC cdi. Using DC on an ac cdi just won't work. I'm unaware if it will cause any melt down but don't do it.

I have a 6 pin cdi but only 5 wires that plug into it from the wire harness I believe that it's dc however I do have a kick start I hooked up a tachometer and did the touch method off the coil to see what end worked it was the positive side this was with a stock cdi when I installed a performance cdi tachometer didn't work any ideas. Dc cdi doesn't need the stator hookup from pin 6. Leave it unconnected. Check if your getting pulse readings from the sensor going to the cdi with a multimeter. Pull the spark plug so the engine spins easily and is way less draw on the battery. Test the trigger pickup that tells the cdi to fire. If its +/- 3% of the number that sensor is supposed to have? Then it's bad and needs replacing.
So, I could put a dc cdi box on my Ac system? If I powered the dc box with switch 12v power, then I could leave the ac charging wires going to the rectifier alone and still charge the battery? Thanks
You can just wire the cdi to the battery at pin 5 and leave 6 unused. You can't use an ac on a DC bike but can use a DC on an ac bike. If that makes sense
Question, I have spark on my scooter but won’t turn on, when I keep pressing the ignition it sort of loses that cranking power. Can that be battery related? BTW I got a DC CDI
So can I just use a toggle switch instead of a key switch ,and #4green can't really be a ground if the other side of the key switch is positive 12 volts off the battery am I getting this right and thank you very much
@@darrellsomers5427 I suppose you would need two toggle switches, one to turn on power to accessories and a second to go to the starter solenoid to start the engine. The ignition switch can do either of these depending on how far you turn the key.
Its an old Yamaha wave runner it has its own start button all ready I thought I would wire the positive wire from the battery through that button switch that has to be held up by the lanyard thing that kills it if you fall off the + wire with the #4 green wire through that switch
I cant find a 6 wire voltage regulator for my 200cc gy6. it has the smaller CDI (AC) on it. i got this kart as a crank no fire. customer says the shop put a new CDI on it and it ran find then one day died while running. just going over the kart it has been abused and the techs sucked that worked on it . its only 2 years old and missing stuff.. bottom line is i cant find a 6 wire 2 plug AC volt reg...anybody know whats going on with this thing? or where to get the part?

Same here I have a customer that has 2 different ATV GY6 and 125cc engine cdi is always the problem they fry first starting

Thank you! The GY6 enricher automatic choke has always had current to it and is hot and drains the battery when not in use. Any ideas are appreciated?
Isn't the kill wire thats going to ignition and on off switch the ground for the CDI?

Dc cdi doesn't need the stator hookup from pin 6. Leave it unconnected. Check if your getting pulse readings from the sensor going to the cdi with a multimeter. Pull the spark plug so the engine spins easily and is way less draw on the battery. Test the trigger pickup that tells the cdi to fire. If its +/- 3% of the number that sensor is supposed to have? So on the #5 pen it gets a ground and 12 volt power through a switch ?
On the DC CDI, the cdi gets its power from the battery which goes through the switch. Pins 3&4 will go to ground.

DC CDI TATA: 1 - Hall sensor, 2 - Positive Ignition coil, 3 - GND, 4 - GND, 5 - +BATT 12VDC, 6 - No connection = does not working
